Arrma Typhon 6s is quick and not just for speed runs
I have had my Arrma Typhon 6s v4 for 3 months, not very long. As Arrma claims, it is designed fast and tough. The shock shaft, dog bones, a-arms, etc are all pretty significant, bigger than average 1/8 scale buggies, perhaps more like truggies.
Not only it is designed fast on the road, it is designed fast in the pit as well with slide mount motor and easy access front and rear diff housing. Really nice indeed.

a club racer but I think this Typhon 6s v4 is configured out of the box somewhere between bash and race, perhaps a little confusing for me personally. Wing is very slick and mounted at the lowest position by default. Ride height or ground clearance is medium about 3cm front and back but there is little drop based on the grub screw setting hence it is more tuned for speed than jumps. Springs are great but shock oil appears thin so the buggy bounces back real quick and a little springy. Diff oils configuration is 7k-10k-7k - pretty standard and lean slightly towards speed. This is the reason I find it a little confusing. I mostly bash and on grass and dirt, so I have made a number of changes. Starting with diff oil replacement across the board to heavier oil. Changed the grub screw setting to allow arms to drop a bit more, but not so far the dog bones pop out, so it lands better and bottoms out less and better traction. Added clear gorilla tape under the lexan body to make it stronger (not that it is weak at all). Extended wheel hubs and the difference is day-n-night. The Typhon is so much more stable and resistant to flip. Caveat of course is that I am not running stock tires (don't really know how they perform because I don't use them but prefer racing wheels) but it would definitely flip if I were running Proline Badlands. Louise B-Turbo which provides really good grip and consistency and it is my go to tires for value and performance. Front is set to 2 degrees Toe-out and 1.5 degrees toe-in at rear. Camber is -0.7 degree in front and -0.5 at the back.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
