Feeling like a hostage to Audi
I am looking to changeover to a Q5 as my A4, just over 3 years old is back in the Alto Group garage! After servicing my car recently ( $2000 including two new tyres) it started blowing smoke and stalling in reverse turned out it needed 4 new fuel injectors ($3000) two weeks later after all diagnostics showed the car was clear of any further problems it's doing the same thing again. Alto service are hostile and defensive and can't put it on the diagnostics for a few days. I am a hostage and feel the only way out is to buy a new car from the upst...Read more
airs showroom so at least I can trade my car. I don't know what else to do. Audi Australia can't help either, I have called them a number of times for some assistance. I feel completely shattered and don't know what to do :(Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Lovely car -Hate the way it drives!
We purchased this car as a demonstrator in November 2013. It is a beautiful car, has MMI - multi media interface which allows you to control everything throughout the car - does not have memory seats which is disappointing. It has GPS, Sports mode, Sun roof and drives beautifully on long runs and is very economical, travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide on 3/4 a tank, BUT - I absolutely hate the Multi-tronic transmission. This car has a lag period from when you push your foot on the accelerator to when the clutch engages. I have had the car c...Read more
hecked over and over and they said there is nothing wrong with it. It is so dangerous on the road when you are at an intersection or at a roundabout and need to take off when there is a gap in the traffic - we have had numerous close calls as it behaves randomly all the time and you cannot trust it to take off when you want it to. You want to go and put your foot down, nothing happens, there's a delay and then it takes off. In a panic you press harder as the car does not respond and then it bunny hops or does a wheelie as it takes off. On a hill it rolls backwards like you are riding the clutch before you take off. It also rolls forward or backwards when it is in reverse gear on an inclined surface or unlevel surface. before the the transmission engages. So scary, we have almost rolled into a few cars when we had parked in a tight parking spot - just horrible. Can't believe this is what they call superior European engineering. My husband absolutely hates it. You can't relax at all while driving. Even after speaking with Audi Penfold Burwood about all the problems we are experiencing (which they were more than happy to check out) there was no offer made when I said we want to change the car because of all the problems. This has to be a fault that is not being picked up. Our computer system has been re-set several times and the lag time changes after each time, sometimes it is much better but not still not good and sometimes back to being horrible. When the engine is cold all of these faults are more obvious. Can't believe we are driving a luxury lemon and no one is speaking up,

Great car - terrible transmission
I have a 2014 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T with the CVT transmission, purchased as a demonstrator in March 2014 with 4000km on the clock and has now done just over 30,000 km.
This is my 7th Audi over 20 years - so I am very keen on the brand, especially the build quality and safety - but I absolutely hate the CVT transmission in this car. The transmission lags on takeoff - particularly on hills, where it does a very good impression of 'riding the clutch' on a manual transmission, and the car rolls backwards before the transmission engages (it nearly ...Read more
caused me to go through my (closed) garage door first time I parked in my driveway). I have checked with Audi service and they tell me it's performance is 'normal' for the CVT transmission - but it's not like any other car I have driven and I definitely won't have another CVT!! My familiarity with the brand meant I only took a very short test drive before committing to the car - I will try longer next time. Aside from my dislike of the transmission, it's a great car - beautifully built, handles well and very economical on a long trip (will go from Sydney to Gold Coast on a single tank). I still believe Audi is one of the best European cars on the market.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

2013 Quattro 2.0T
After test driving the Mercedes BMW Lexus etc, I decided to purchase this car based on price, equipments and most importantly handling. I love the electrical steer wheel, very light, similar the gas paddle. Tiptronic gear box with dual clutch is smooth and responsive. Little feather like push button engine and park brake are a delight. As a driver, you feel relax, especially stuck in the middle of daily traffic.high recommend.
On the downside, the engine consumer lub fast, and the standard stereo is crap (I upgraded this)

A great car
Have a 1.8T A4 bought new in 2014. Wonderful car to drive and to look at, though I mostly use it for urban driving (work, school pickup/dropoff). The CVT Multitronic transmission is nearly faultless, but with some lag on hard acceleration from stop. Cruises at 100 km/h on 1,500 rpm and huge reserves of power which I never really been able to (legally) tap. Responsive steering, the Pirelli tyres are just beautiful - not looking forward to when they wear out as will be expensive to replace and may be forced on to a lesser tyre. Ride is a bit stif...Read more
f as you'd expect. My Audi dealer (Newstead in Brisbane) is excellent for sales and service. Great sound system and instrumentation. Faults, hmm, no auto-dimming rear-view mirror and the boot is a bit on the small side. It also burns some oil between services, but this is noted in the manual, and I understand normal for Audis and BMWs. Very good driving position and easy to know where all the car corners are for parking, even without using sensors. Takes PULP (95) but also can take ULP (90) if you get caught out, but you'll notice the difference in performance and economy. The overall finish is very good - mine is Black Pearl so it shows the dirt of course but the paint finish is exceptional. Have had one recall for the transmission software which was something about its operation in very low temps - I live in Qld. so can't think it made any difference and was precautionary. Overall, I can't imagine ever not buying another Audi, whether an A4 or something like a Q5. Highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good car, but not class leader....yet
I went to the Gold Coast for holidays and was offered an Audi A4 B8 MY2011 by the rental company. Having driven a B6 model about 8 years ago and currently drive a C class, I jumped at this opportunity to test the car for 2 weeks.
First impressions of the car was very good. I love the aggressive stance when you see this coming straight at you in your rear view mirror. The grille and the angry slanty headlights complete the picture. The car had the right proportions on the wheel arches and it feels larger than its 3 series/C class competit...Read more
or. The interior did not disappoint. Good build quality, solid and refined. Chunky yet classy. My only complaint was that I couldn't understand that for a front wheel drive, why did they have to make a transmission tunnel between the front and rear seats? The fuex tunnel meant that the 5th passenger had to be either a 3 year old or an adult without legs. The car could do with a bit more boot space as the shape of the rear end limited the vertical depth of the boot. The driver's seating position makes you feel like it is a fighter jet, very ergonomic, and switches were well laid out. When I returned the car, I had covered almost 3,000km, and I can tell you that I was smiling like a little kid for every mile I drove.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wonderful! Sold on the brand.
This is a lovely car.
Exterior. This is such a personal thing but while not being a head turner it has classic, well thought out lines and the body fit is exceptional. The sort of car you look at and think,"That's a damn fine looking car", ...and then realise it's yours. Colours are fairly conservative other than red but the grey (forgotten the name) changes with the weather, like the sea.
The inside is beautifully designed and like an Apple product everything (well, almost) is understated and just works. perhaps like other new cars you t...Read more
end to set things and then forget...which is how it should be. Auto headlights? Why would you wants anything else. Electric seat adjustment. Set once, then forget. As a new car buyer the Audi folk treat me like a special customer and support and service is exceptional. I suspect they treat everyone the same. My only tiny gripe is that when using the SD card option for music one has to be careful of the format (MP3 only, so far) otherwise it doesn't want to play, literally! My next car will be... ...an Audi. Very fuel efficient, nice pick up for a 1.8 and seems to get you to legal speed quicker than you think. Occasional lurch on takeoff.Similar opinion? Excellent
Sensational car to drive. I test drove a lot of brands and this was the best in all areas. Fuel economy is great...better than I expected. It's a pleasure to get into every day which is a lot more than I can say for many other cars I have had in the past. I will buying another Audi when time comes for an upgrade.
2 litre Turbo. Great pick up with limited turbo lag. Gearbox in both Auto and Manual mode very smooth and quick through changes. Overall ride is great.
Rolls downhill when trying to drive forward or reverse up on a slight hill making it hard to reverse park on a hill when there is little room.
