AND Aust Post officer do not know well about this travel card.
Before I purchased the card, I did ask the officer if I could transfer out the money back to my bank account after my trip with any Aust Post shop. The officer did said YES at that time. In fact, you CANNOT. i got that "NO" from another officer in another Aust Post shop.

online for any transactions. In fact, it was not working. I tried to login online but i kept receiving login error message during my trip (NZ) and after i returned to AU. The travel card customer service team (NOT from Aust Post) was sometimes helpful and sometimes not depends on who assisted me. For my first call, the officer was able to find my detail in their system. Then she advised that i should able to reset password myself. I tried myself but it was not working. So I called the team again. The officer (not the one for my first call) was even unable to find my account in the system this time and he said he could not assist me because my detail was not shown up. At the end, he even could not refer my case to other department but asked me to email to other team which is located in UK myself. That costed me another week for waiting someone to response my case.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fees to Close the Account and get your Banlance returned.
Travelled to NZ and upon return to Australia could not find any details of how to close the account. After contacting Mastercard and speaking to somebody with a strong unintelligable overseas accent finally ascertained that a AUD$10 fee was applicable to close the Account. This is not acceptable, just make sure you have a nil balance prior to returning to Australia

Should Have Read These Reviews - Lesson Learned
Very disappointed with this product. You CANNOT use it wherever Mastercard is used - for example if travelling in Europe it is not accepted at parking centres or for paying at toll booths - yes, we were caught out big time! Glitches in their system has prevented me from being able to utilise the online service - they reset my password and then I was not receiving the new passwords via email. Then told I’d have to go into a branch to sort out (after over 3 hours on the phone to their support). Left seriously stranded overseas (yep, no branches!) I would stay clear and use a different product if travelling overseas as this one cannot be relied upon. I'd give it zero stars if possible.

This is the worst experience of customer service and support I have ever received - the operators (apart from one) have been instructed to assist as LITTLE possible. The card was difficult to manage, declined for no reason, limited disinterested unsympathetic support who put you on hold just to break you. This is not a service it is a rort pure and simple.

We have never been more disappointed in a product. We confirmed with the shop assistant at AUS post that we were able to upload money (USD and AUD) overseas and be able to access the fund on the card! Turns out this this was not the case! We were unable to upload USD or AUD whilst in America. Which was not the ideal to way to start our honeymoon! Not being able to access our funds that we have saved so hard to be able to go on the holiday! We redownloaded the app at least a dozen times, the website redirection you to download the app, spoke to numerous non-helpful customer service persons, which ended costing us money as the customer services agents from your end told us it was our banks fault. So at least 20 calls and back an forth with your customer service team and guess what... turns out that the card is unable to unload money to the USA whilst in the USA! We ended up having to borrow money off friends and even got a number for Mastercard emergency money. You advertise that this product is able to upload/top up funds in USA or AUS dollars. This is simply not true and should be removed from your website. Have you read the reviews? I’m not the only person who has had this issue there are so many reviews stating this exact fact you are unable to top up/reload any currency whilst travelling in the USA. I would like a responses to notify me that you are looking into this issue so other people do not experience the same problems.Priscila L.Australia Post

Travelled to Finland.
The first problem was that they thought that a purchase at a grocery store in the country I told them I was going to was flagged as suspicious and I had to call to get it re-activated (15min call).
The second problem is that you can not reload on the app. You are redirected to the website so there is not much purpose to the app itself.
The third problem is after a week of using the card it no longer allows me to reload it from any platform. The card is now useless to me and I’m still overseas for quite a while and will ...Read more

Do not use.
Fraudulent and insecure do NOT use this service. I got this card for general expenses whilst spending time with friends in Sweden. Within a week this card was declined. The Card was already "hacked" and used for layby purchases in Oz for almost $350. On returning home I filled out 2 pages to contest the transactions. At the same time I contacted the Layby company. Within 24 hours the Layby company had ascertained and refunded the offending purchases. Aus post has yet to acknowledge.

Stay away from this card. I went to Hawaii and on the very last day of travel, the app crashed and I could not reload my card. I tried the app and the website to no avail. It's a pain trying to reload it, downloaded the app then you have go to another website to load then it doesn't let you reload by debit card but let's you do Bpay which takes 2 days. Not good enough. Plus all the extra hidden fees. Contacting them is not much help either.

Yet another disappointing product from Australia Post...
I went on a family trip to Thailand this October for one week. Several years ago, I had purchased a Multi Currency Cash Card for use while I was travelling Europe and it was incredible. I wanted to get the same cash card again, but was told it no longer existed and had been replaced with a Travel Platinum Mastercard. So, I decided to purchase that instead... Boy, was that a mistake. The first cracks began to show when we arrived in Malaysia and my mother tried to get money off her purchased card from an ATM. She had incorrectly inserted her PIN...Read more
a few times and her card had been blocked; fair enough. She immediately called Aus Post to attempt to get her card unblocked and was told that would be no problem, it was all fixed and she could now access her money. But sadly, that was not the case. My mother could not access the thousands of Thai Baht she had in her account for the ENTIRE trip. The only way we got around it was moving everything from her account onto my card, which was working, thankfully. But every time we wanted to withdraw cash from the card, it was an $11 fee. Eventually, with the constant transferring and conversions, I lost quite a bit of money, as you can imagine and was disgusted that, for a SECOND time with Australia Post, a product I had trusted to work as it should have right away, almost ruined our entire trip. Needless to say, I was not impressed and will never purchase travel accessories from Australia Post ever again.1 comment

My husband & I recently travelled to Italy (Sicily)
We used one of these cards without too much trouble until I attempted to withdraw 400 Euro which equals $650.87. The ATM made a lot of noise and was very slow at which point I decided to take photos of the messages popping up on the screen of the machine, saying it was processing & then said transaction aborted - so no money & no receipt. Probably won't use again
The card worked fine everywhere in Indonesia that took a card but withdrawing cash was a pain. The only ATM I found that would allow me to withdraw cash was over 4km from my hotel so didn't do much shopping at the cash only markets. I even tried withdrawing cash at both a Commonwealth Bank ATM and a branch. The other issue was that it took way too long for the debits to show up so I knew how much cash I had. It would have been fine if it allowed Rupiah to be loaded. Since Indonesia is a prime destination for Aussies, this should really be rectified.
As for the complaints about fees and such, people should read all the information about this card. It's all there.
I don't think I'll bother with this card again.

Lots of hidden fees. If you preload the card into the Australian wallet and then transfer to another currency-fee.
Transfer money onto the card any other way but bank transfer (which takes days) - fee.

Don't buy one of these.
Don’t have anything to do with the Australia Post Platinum Mastercard. I bought one recently and charged it with $200-. I bought it to buy kindle books from Amazon.com and I was doing just that. I bought around ten books and still had nearly $50- left when it stopped working. I later tried it both online and in shops to find it no longer worked. that in order to get out my $50- I will need to supply hard copies of the following documents 1) passport or driver’s license 2) utility bill 3) one of my bank statements showing my transactions, name and address. 4) A written statement of why I bought the Mastercard. I was very persistent and spoke to two more managers but no one could tell me why my card had been put on hold and all insisted that I provide all this information. I refused to provide all this confidential identification so I didn’t get my money back. I am just grateful that I wasn’t stuck overseas counting on using the money on my card to get back home.
