Does anyone use their Elite for their newborn without the bassinet attachment? It says in the booklet you can but I wondered about it not lying completely flat and not being rear facing.

If you are using a capsule for your baby you can get a capsule adapter for the pram and tranfer bub straight from car to pram and vice versa
I know this was asked ages ago but no the normal seat is not suitable for a new born, we were hoping for the same but too unsafe and ekded up getting the bassinet attachment. Later we used a generic padded insert designed for prams but even still I dont think thos would have been safe for a new born.

Hi ladies,
My question is: how did you find the storage basket? Was there enough room for a nappy bag? And, did you find the pram easily tipped back?
Thanks ;)
3 answers
Probably just enough room for bag but that's about it by tipped back I'm not sure what you mean but if its about the actuall pram no I do not
Not enough room for a nappy bag. I just carried it transfered what I needed onto the pram.
It hasn’t tipped over for me and I was a bit naughty and hung my nappy bag from the handles.
Thanks Jess18. I ended up buying the pram and I think I just do the same. ;)

Can you use a glider board with this pram?
3 answers
I haven't got a glider board yet, but one of the things I liked about this pram when I was researching them was the fact you could add one.
They are at baby bunting for about $120.
yes you can
You can but its' terrible and appears to be designed as an after thought when you look at other brands design. Even on full extension of the board attachment it is awkward for a child and they need to lean back to clear the bar and hold on. We had a gew near misses of the pram tipping back when going down ramps from footpath to road level.

Does anyone know can you buy the seat and canopy part to go on the frame ? Our frame is in perfect condition but the fabric part has mould spots on it.

Hi Everyone... I have just put a baby jogger elite on layby but have a small concern that it may be to wide to fit on buses as i will be doing quite a bit of travel on a bus... Has anyone taken theirs on a bus? How did it fit?
3 answers
Hello! I have not travelled on a bus with my pram but it does fit through shop doorways so it shouldnt be a problem I don't think. Does your regular bus have steps to board or is it a new model (I think they are quite low to make boarding vehicle easier?) pram is a little heavy if there are steps to board.. As I said it is a large pram compared to the other models so you may find that you take up a little more room then normal onboard too....Have you looked at the smaller models??
Anyway sorry I couldn't be more help...
Hi you'll have no problem if its a wide door but if its one of those with the pole in the middle then you'll definitely find it an issue. The same goes for trams even we have purposly 'missed' the old trams for the new one with wider doors. The wheels on the back just stick out too much which at times you will find it a problem getting in narrow areas.
I have this pram and it doesn't fit on the old trams in Melbourne. I had to fold it up to get on the tram. Pram is great for outdoors walking but not for shopping or travel on public transport as the wheels are too wide.

What is the weight allowed to carry in toddler seat?
1 answer
According to an American youtube video of the very question that you're wondering is up to a 5 year old weighing a maximum of 43 pounds or just under 20 kilograms.
Our son is just over 14 kilos (31 pounds+) and just about to turn 2; though he's 91 centimeters tall. So he'll probably grow out of it sooner than the American channel claims

Does anyone have the baby jogger city elite 2014 model? It seems impossible to undo the shoulder straps, so do you have to adjust it every time baby goes in there? Buckle is different than instruction booklet that goes with it,wonder if this is a fault or not?

I'm sorry - I have no idea - I chose the 09/10 model as I knew they had radically altered the harness system

Does anyone have a problem with noisy front wheel/suspension/front of the pram (don't really know where it is coming from)? I have 2012 model. Every time I go over the smallest twig or uneven pavment there is this annoying clank...

No sorry I don't
I have made a warranty claim with Baby Jogger and they found that my frame had a movement in the front part (metal frame was rubbing against plastic footrest causing the annoying sound). I have got a completely new frame! And what a great service from Baby Jogger Australia! The clunk, sound its not as loud but unfortunately is still there. I came to conclusion that this is the way new models of City Elite are...

Hi, I have purchased a baby jogger elite 2013 model. I have the hard case bassinet also with adaptor. Can the adaptor from the bassinet also be used as a car seat adaptor, and if so what model/brand car seat/capsule does it fit?

can the 2011 elite double have a capsule attached to it ??
2 answers
Yes with a kit.. Depending on capsule model and make depends on kit. Clarifying that I understand common capsules can be made to fit. I had a brica one. The kit is not complicated and I would suggest buying 2nd hand as they cost 100$ thereabouts new.
Thank you So much for that will keep my eyes out for second hand one :)

Hi there,
Is it just me, but my 1.5yr old boy looks terribly uncomfortable in this new pram :( it doesn't sit upright, and it appears the very top of the padded seat pops out a little so his head always look forward and bod/bum rounded even with the harness on. I am concerned it is encouraging him to slouch. It doesn't appear that many other people are having the same issue??

Correct regarding back not 90degrees. I think this is clever for jogging. Safety regarding strength in little peoples mecks. Frustrating for busy toddlers who wish to see when out and about walking though.
But the top of back support should not protrude??? You may have a faulty damaged support?????
I was shown by the sales assistant a $14 backing board that you can buy to make this seat sit all the way upright. It comes standard on the Summit X3 running version and is removable. There is a velcro section behind the seat. You could just make one of these yourself and slot it in. I am pretty sure it was just plastic.
Thanks very much for both your replies :) My bub loves this pram, but he does get frustrated when he has to constantly pull himself up to have a look around... I will definitely look into purchasing a backing board, sounds great!

The front wheel has a rattle which is very annoying. Is there a way to fix this? Other than that we are very happy with it!

Is it still under warranty? You could contact the Amazing Baby Company and they could help you with it, depending on year model and what's actually happening. To be honest though I haven't heard of any problems with the Elites so far :) Good luck!
We had a brake failure when we were pushing it from an escalator in a major shopping centre, though it was my wife that stuffed it up; but apparently after turning the red lever it triggered something in the brake components that led to some bits dropping out and we returned ours to Baby Bunting where we got it in the first place and because it was under warranty; we had the parts replaced. So far it hasn't happened, but their main Baby Jogger brand warehouse is not that far from our residential premises which is appropriate if the circumstances that didn't present itself properly with the retailer, we would have another option to go direct.
Our City Elite is the newer generation with the non-dual tone colours, so just red as chosen for us.
Yes!!! I have been having this problem with my 2012 model. Started using it in January 2014 and it is very very annoying! It is still under the warranty so I will be making a claim. How did you go?

Hello..I have a baby jogger city elite and I was just wondering you do you guys wash it?
4 answers
Hi, I use warm soapy water I use that sugar soap I think it's called and just get a sponge and works well I've only cleaned it once and cleaned well :)
I've never washed mine except the tyres under water because we went "4wd" on the sand! We have a sheepskin that we put in it, I'd say wipe it with a wet cloth
Yes, you can stick it in the washing machine :) Just take the back/bum boards out if you have them and the fold strap and you're good to go! If you want to wash the canopies I believe you need to unscrew the rods first, although some people just wash it as is in the bath.

Does the City Elite - Black Sport have foam filled tires? It mentions that they have never flat tires...is this the same thing?
3 answers
Is that the newest one? I have the 2011 version so I'm not 100% sure but I would say so or check the specs on their website. A year on and I still love my baby jogger, not just for walking everywhere but even putting a sheepskin rug down, putting the seat back and my daughter still has a nap in there quit comfortably when I'm out shopping and won't be home for her nap, best purchase ever.
Yes if it's 2011 and later model
I thought it was silicone not foam?

How do you keep it folded? I bought a 2008 model 2nd hand with no manual. Once it has been collapsed/folded, is there any clasp or something to keep it folded? As I try to lift it out of the boot it unfolds itself...
5 answers
have no idea sorry, never had the need to keep it folded. I only fold it down to put it in the back of my wagon then i pop it back up.
You are right they have no clip - I found that you have to grab it by the frame that is lowest so it stays folded as you pull it out the car. I always loaded it with the front wheel on top and away from me worked best. Hope this helps.
I have a 2010 model and there's no clasp, you have to pull it out on and angle where it won't open on itself. I pull it out sideways, it's hard to explain, better to show. Just keep playing around with it until you get in the groove of putting it in and out of the boot

I've got a city elite pram on layby but I'm not 100% sure on putting my newborn in it. Is it safe for a newborn?
3 answers
I would use it for a newborn with a head snuggler insert, howeve mine came with a soft bassinet attachment so I used that which was perfect.
Yes as it reclines all the way down flat
I am planning on putting a newborn in mine. You can always use a sheep skin underneath baby in the beginning if you are concerned or another liner. It is pretty soft compared to the Summit X3 which I was originally looking at purchasing.
