Ours didn’t - I can see how that would be a good idea. If it helps, our sheet has never come off - the fitted elastic of the sheet holds the sheet to the mattress very well and still left enough room for the safety hooks to attach directly from the base of the cot to the holds on the mattress. So, even without holes, the sheet didn’t really get in the way of the safety hooks.

The mattress is foamlike inside however the cover is thick and strong so I wouldn't describe the mattress as a whole as 'soft'. Also when the mattress is in the portacot it is completely flat and is tucked into the edges quite safely.

Hi Chris, it sits slightly above the floor but yes it essentially is on the ground. I thought this would be a problem as I didn't want my child to be so close to the floor but it's actually fine and it's safe! The mattress is a nice one too slightly firm so it's stable

No this one sits quite low to the ground.

The cot is low to the ground, however, it does lift off slightly(!) I guess it depends on the weight of your child. Our daughter is 8kg now and the cot is still slightly elevated off the ground.

The standard cot size sheet would be a bit longer then the mattress size for the BB travel cot, but you could just tuck the excess material under and make it fit. The BB fitted sheet is lovely though, and reasonably priced. If you plan to use the cot more then once I would recommend getting it:)

We just used a standard cot sheet and tucked under any excess.

Hi Cara, my daughter is only 11 months old so I haven't tested it beyond that, however she can and does stand up and lean on the sides and it hasn't showed any signs of tipping over. Because the legs are angled out from the cot I think it would be pretty hard for a toddler to tip over.

Hi. Yes, I do. I've slept my son in this on his tummy since he was 2 or 3 months old (he's now 18 months). However, he has always had great neck strength and no breathing difficulties. I also ensured there was nothing else in the cot with him and supervised him for the first few sleeps (I made sure they were day sleeps so I could watch him). Always be guided by your health nurse/dr and instincts.

Hi! Yes, my 14 month old son has recently started sleeping on his stomach and seems to like it in the portacot. :)

I would recommend you check with the product specification on whether you can put a newborn in it. Keep in mind this cot is quite deep. Reaching for your newborn baby straight after giving birth will not be comfortable/easy. I didn't put my baby in it until she out-grew her portable bassinet. I still find it difficult to pick up my baby (who is now 11months) from this cot but because we travel a lot, this cot has been really easy to take on holidays (even camping).

I can't see any reason why this cot wouldn't be suitable for anew born as long as you put them at the end etc as per the SIDS guidelines. You would have to be able to bend down and scoop up the baby with two hands to support their head when they are small. If you can bend down from standing to the floor with straight legs, you should be able to get your baby in and out of this cot safely.

Hi Dani - did you end up going on your trip with the cot? How did it go? We're also thinking the same except in a campervan(!) Is there enough space for the cot does anyone know??

Hi, we did go on our holiday however we didn't use a motor home!
We hired a car and travelled each day but only for an hour or two! Then my son could get out and stretch his legs and every hotel was different! Most of them had portacots too! Nice and clean!
You had to baby proof each room but we would definitely do this again! Maybe save the motor home for when he is a bit older and knows not to get out of bed!
It's such an amazing country! I miss it!!

You can remove the fabric portion and wash it. Stains/marks will obviously show up easier but it washes up really well. Vomit wasn't an issue!

I do not believe this travel cot would be suitable for camping/insect protection as the mesh on the sides is made with holes approx 3mm diameter.

No, it just has a cotton cover. So a mattress protector is probably a good idea.

I just purchased the cot and the mattress cover is waterproof

We used it up until our daughter was about two and a bit. She would stand up but never tipped over and never tried to get out.

Yep we took it to Fiji last year. Doesn't count as baggage when travelling with a child. Just double check that bit didn't with qantas. Fine in the hold. Glad we took it as the one the hotel had was huge and took up too much space in the room. It was also good to have something she was familiar with. Was lightweight so easy to transport.

I haven't used it yet for overseas travel but it is so compact that you could fit it into your luggage bag. It would have to be the smallest port a cot when folded available.

It's good. About an inch or more thick. My son is very comfy on it

The mattress on this is really great it has a thin board and over an inch of foam it only folds in half so its not a lot of little boards.

It's thin as well but suitable for its purpose. There's a thin hard board type (that bends) & then the soft cushion part. I haven't had any issues with my daughter sleeping in it. The matress bends so it fits in the bag it comes in.

Could u or partner get to a Baby Bunting to see if its better than ur current portacot? Baby Bunting always have one on display.
