My 11 and a half week great pyr had been sleeping through the night until his dose of Drontal this afternoon and evening. Now he's barking, whining incessantly, trying to escape his crate and showing signs of dehydration. My vet did not mention anything about these potential side effects and they're not listed for Drontal. I'm alerting my vet first thing along with my fellow pet owners. Have not slept a wink along with my poor dog.

We gave our 8 month old dog this product. A few hours later she was hyper. She just couldn’t settle and didn’t seem to know what to do with herself, up and down from the sofa, in and out the back door. Staring weirdly. At midnight I was playing with her to try and wear her out. In the evening I googled and found so many similar stories. She was still like it the next day. The following day she was so tired from 2 days of unrest. I will never use again. It’s a disgrace it’s on the market. I would give it zero stars if I could.

I gave this to my 8 year old labrador. She vomited for 2 nights. Also her Anus went red and was so sore. I have not used this wormer before and will put the other one in the bin. It took about a week for her red anus to calm down, it was far to strong for her.

Gave the 5-10kg chewable Tablet last night to my little 6kg Sheltie, with her dinner at 6pm... an hour later she was crazy, lots of drooling, panting, eyes dilated and chewing at both her front feet obsessively. She was like this most of the night and didn’t sleep. Do not buy this product.

Like many others here, I wish I had read these reviews before giving my 10 week old pup Drontal. I also am appalled that my vet would give me this pill without warning me of the disturbing side-affects. Everything that the other reviews had mentioned (minus the vomiting) happened with my pup. We are now into the next day and he is still a bit weird. Better, but not totally himself yet. I feel like such a bad owner...

Do not give this to your dog!! There are many other options including natural approaches.

I wormed both of my Finnish Lapphunds yesterday they are both one year old correct dose was given. I never gave the worming a thought until the behaviour of one of them became very worrying later in the day. He was becoming increasingly agitated, restless, whining and it was not until he came back inside with a dirty bottom from diarrohea that I looked up the internet for possible side effect. It was then I came across reviews from other dog owners. The symptoms were the same as others had reported. No I will not chance using Drontal again.

As per the rest of the reviews, this has been horrendous for our 5 month old Labrador puppy and I’m furious that it was recommended by our Vet. He hasn’t slept all day, is trying to sleep now and is whimpering because he can’t rest. He is agitated, restless and constantly moving. He is also panting hard. Will never get this product again and hope our boy has no other issues once this gets out of his system. Terrible and disappointing to see this on the market.

I gave my 3 month lab pup the correct dose last night or Drontal All-Wormer and she starting heavily panting shortly afterwards, didn't sleep well through the night and was very thirsty.
Today she has been sick and throwing up for most of the day and now her tummy is clear she is exhausted and sleeping. This makes me so worried ! Her change can only be related to this product as it has happened directly afterwards. I am now soo nervous that she is going to bounce back tonight -Hate this product ! Should be removed from selling !

This medicine caused my dog to go insane. Constant whining, barking, and overall agitated behavior. He will NOT settle down. Before administering this drug, he would play for 1-2 hours then nap. I can’t get him to rest what so ever. He is completely distressed. This medicine is completely toxic. I will be requesting a different de-wormer next visit to the vet.

Gave my 10 week old puppy his first Drontal worming tablet today. Even after just half a tablet -and he became so so distressed (whining, panting, erratic, upset, hyperactive, outrageously clingy, no interest at all in playing, unable to sleep - and just not the same pup at all! This has gone on for 14 hours so far and he is still not right.
Would NEVER recommend to anyone!

Gave my 6 week old pups dosage as prescribed by the vet. 12 hours later and some are still vomiting undigested food and very watery stools. They were all fine before being wormed. I used the liquid previously but vet gave me tablets this time. Very worried and angry.

I gave my Spitz (9.8 kg) the dose my vet recommended (5-10kg dose) this morning with breakfast. He seemed fine during the day, but this evening he had diarrhea on the kitchen floor (he is normally perfectly house trained) and went to bed, obviously not feeling well. I will throw the rest of the Dontral in the garbage. There are other brands that have worked well and not made my dog sick. I feel terrible for him feeling unwell !

Gave my Mini Sausage the vet prescribed dose resulted in severe vomiting and pooping directly after, very distressed puppy for about an hour until now hopefully will settle soon- Will not use again.

I gave my harrier Razz the correct dose my vet gave me with her dinner last night, 4 hours later she would not settle at all, it’s like she is on speed or something! 5am I think she may have settled, so tired!

My 6 year old toy poodle, having been given the correct dosage, became agitated, hyperactive and was distressed. I will discard the remainder as it is too worrying. She is tiny but is in very good health and has not had this reaction to other wormers. Drontal does not have my confidence.

I gave my 7 month old puppy the correct recommended dosage of Drontal Chewable wormer.
4 hours later, my pups behaviour was agitated, erratic, disoriented, manic, hyperactive, confused. He was urinating every 20 mins for about 2 hours.
I will NEVER use this product again, it is toxic!

My Cavalier was given the correct dose of Drontal all wormer chewable as prescribed by the vet.
During the night she became extremely distressed and couldn’t settle. She seemed confused, scared and agitated. It was almost like she was hallucinating! After 6 long hours she finally settled and is doing better, but not back to her usual happy self yet.
I only wished I had seen the other reviews before administering this toxic medication to my sweet girl.
Please Bayer remove this product before it causes harm to any more dogs!

Wormed two dogs, correct dose and within a couple of hours both were restless and agitated. Both have had watery diarrhoea during the afternoon and evening (tablet given at lunchtime) Feel concerned about them overnight. Something in this brand has changed in the last few years. Can't find anything from a veterinary source when searching around this subject - do I need to contact a vet or not?!
