Think twice before buying another F30
I own a 330i and 220i 2015. I love my 220i as it is stylish, reliable and fuel efficient. In fact I think paying $54,000"for the MSport is not expensive when you compare it to its rivals.
I can't say that I am very happy with my 330i. There are rattling noises inside the cabin and you feel every bump. I have ben to the dealership to fix the connect drive, sos failure. Sure it is a car but you don't expect to deal with such issues if you are paying a lot of money for it.
I,could have been better off purchasing a C class.
I went for F30 as I...Read more

Sporting Drive
Bought my 328i M Sport new in February 2013 and really happy with the performance, economy and sporting looks of this car. This is my fourth BMW and although my previous (E46 330Ci Coupe Special Edition) was a fantastic car, this one is almost as good. No problems apart from having the washer bottle filter cleaned as the tap water was causing the filter to clog up - now use de-mineralised water. Car looks fabulous with Individual paint (Tanzanite Blue) and optional piano black trim and matt alloy surrounds and black leather. Getting approx. 10...Read more
.0 l/100km around town and 7.00 l/100km on a trip. 8 speed auto is very intuitive and with 'flappy paddles' and sports modes, is a joy to drive. O/E Bridgestone run-flat tyres were replaced on the rear (mainly due to a puncture which could not be repaired) but fronts are wearing well after 30,000 km. Service costs are very reasonable from BMW dealer and although CBS says that car does not need to be serviced, it is taken in every year. Four cylinder turbo motor sounds a bit ordinary at idle and revs out beautifully but still does not sound like an in-line BMW 6 motor.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it, fun car.
I bought it when the 318 was 9yrs old. It still runs good. I can feel I drive it by my thinking. But after 200000kms, sometime light has little problem, the roof was down. I sold it at 230000kms. miss my bmw 318 so much. Will buy an new one when I afford it

GREAT WHILE YOUR BUYING THE CAR, BUT ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE AND BACK UP WARRANTY
They are great with the sales process and quick to sell you a car, but seriously absolutely disgusting on their back up warranty and service, especially Motorline BMW Logan, the service manager has the worst attitude and they definitely don't stand by their brand and product which is a real shame and what makes things worse, the attitude of the service manager is 'i don't care that you have had 12 Bmw's if you don't come back and buy a car again i don't care'.

I went from having an e46 which was the best car I'd ever had prior to owning two Saabs. It was my 21st present to myself. I got to 115,000kms and it was a cabrio 325ci. I paid 37 and sold it for 23. Not bad for 3 years of ownership and over 50,000kms. This was not my first BMW experience like this. I then fell in love with the styling of Audi A5 and the handling felt like silk. I owned my A5 and paid 46K, barely did any kms in it and the price plummeted in 12 months. The engine mount fell out at 30,000kms, oil leaks you name it, the window reg...Read more
ulators even dropped. I then decided to get an F30 which I ordered from Sydney to go back to what I knew as familiar and reliable. WHOLLY MOLLEY! this car had better economy then my Moms Honda Jazz!. The technology was simply amazing, the bluetooth was crystal clear, the sat nav was incredibly reliable. However voice command was about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. All in all this was the BEST car i have ever had. I sold it at 92,000kms for 29K after paying 37 for it with 50,000kms. Once again they maintained their value. Only reason I sold it is I get bored of cars quickly however this car was maximum customer satisfaction! NOT 1 problem up to 100,000kms, cheap parts cheap to run. Only thing I didn't like was the interior was slightly less quality than the e46. I do read that most of these are South African assembled however when I opened the door handle it said it had german compliance. Maybe that had something to do with it. PROS - Incredibly reliable, economical car, longer wheelbase = plenty leg room in the back, mind blowing technology, cheap to run, cheap for parts, comfortable to drive, easy to use cruise control system, good value for money. CONS- Interior quality has suffered, gear shift trim and door ware. The car is a bit slimy looking. It has a real slick look to it which i found embarrassing and a bit ostentatious, this was my main reason for getting rid of it. I work in real estate and im really sick of people looking at my car and making comments like " you're a shark" or "I bet we paid for that".Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

An E90 Lemon
I bought a 2007 demo e90 323 and had it for 18 months. Within 2 weeks it went into limp mode & had to loaded onto a truck & taken back to the dealer. The problem persisted sporadically and was quite frightening, when coming to an intersection and accelerating to cross the road, the car would again limp across the intersection. As the car was under warranty the software was upgraded 3 times and the top half of the engine including overhead valves etc. was renewed, all to no avail. I had the chief techo from BMW Australia look at it. He insisted...Read more
on me driving, which I did to demonstrate the problem. He told me that it was my driving style which the engine management system was replicating. I knew there was nothing wrong with my driving style as this was the 6th BMW I had owned & driven over a 20 year period with no problems. My only alternative was to trade it on a Lexus & two cars later (an IS250X and IS350FSport) I have had no issues!!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Car
Great car to own pleasure to drive. Parts are easy to obtain I deal with Clickable Auto in Melbourne for my parts. Just the common issues and are easy to fix once you understand the design. Running costs are normal parts and repair are easy to obtain, but always check with guys at ClickableAuto.
July 24th 2017 Update: Great after care
Great customer care, I believe I am the 3 rd owner and I was impressed they found me through the car registration to replace airbags after TANAKA recall. Its great to see they care about a driver who is in one of their cars even after 13 years of purchase.

Beautiful Car
I recently purchase a 320i F30 Msport.
Amazing to drive. The gear change is so smooth.
The exterior is sleek and eye catching.
The interior gives you a sophisticated feel.
Running costs are a bit higher due to the type of vehicle however if you're worried about this then you probably shouldn't own a BMW.

Probably the best car I've ever owned
I bought this car with 186,000 kms on, much more than I would have liked but the car was in such immaculate condition I could not resist it for the price I negotiated. I love this car, the performance, the smoothness of the the transmission, the fantastic roadholding and handling and the huge brakes and did I mention the looks - best BMW body design ever and with big CSL replica mag wheels, it just grabs me every time I look at it. Down side is that I did have to have the air con evaporator replaced but my usual workshop did it for almost half ...Read more
what the dealer quoted. The door lock actuator failed and the engine still has a slight oil leak despite two attempts to correct it. In the first 12 months of ownership it has cost me about $3000 in repairs and maintenance but the pleasure this car gives me every time I drive it can't be exaggerated and I've owned some very nice performance cars in the past.1 comment

Don't want to let this car go
Bought this car brand new; drives beautifully; great road holding and handling. About to update to a newer model, but hesitant at letting this one go (I'm very attached to it). Never had a breakdown or needed major repairs, so repair and running costs have been minimal. Found a local BMW specialist mechanic who keeps my car in tip-top condition (anything that he doesn't know about BMW's isn't worth knowing) and charges a fraction of what the local dealership does to service the car.

Bmw Navigation - Expensive Annual Cash Drain Or Not Up To Date
Yes I have navigation in my BMW 3 series. It does not update unless you visit a BMW dealer and pay them $500. Fortunately the Navigation panel is the exact size of the iPhone and that can be held with a rubber band around the screen. Updated by Apple constantly for free and is much more user friendly than the clunky BMW one and saves $500 a year.

Excellent car but expensive
I have this car since 2 years. Excellent car, nice interior.
Driving with this car is very pleasant. Nice options are included. Example : automatic car boot opening when passing the foot under the car.
But the price is very expensive !
I have news & internet in the car but you can only see a few titles when running. It's better for security but it's complicate to use it.

Love my amazing 320d
For long time, when talking about a diesel car, I would think of van or truck. But when I test drove my 320d, it's just amazing, smooth, really give you some more kick compare to normal 320i, and fuel economy is much better. The sports line I got which add some more stylish trimming and better leather. Front and back leg room is enough for 4~5 ~180cm guys to sit reasonably comfortable, but don't expect as generous as 5 series. The down side would be the stop-start on the 320d give quite noticeable noise and kick when restarting, another one is the suspension is pretty firm given that it's a sport line, not comfortable enough if doing a long drive.

DON'T BUY .... ABSOLUTE LEMONS
Hi Guys, i bought a Second hand 2009 BMW 320i at approximately 65000km just under 2 years ago which i have just recently traded in (THANK GOD). Since i have had this car i have never been to the mechanic/dealership so many times where i actually knew the service advisers on a first name bases and was asking them how the family was... Everything that could go wrong went wrong since i had the vehicle, from Sensors, oil leaks, gasket, seals and many more problems. I was actually using more oil then fuel before i traded it in. Bring on the Road Pantzer
The BMW 320d E90 2008 model signifies sedan 2 litre diesel auto and this is a brilliant car. Solidly built, excellent road handling and brilliant at 5.6ltr/100km fuel economy. Just be careful with whomever you choose to service the car. Forget buying BMW parts from BMW in Australia they are the same as Citroen and Volvo. Whatever the price is in USA or UK triple it for Australia so just buy through eBay. Servicing in minimal once a year. This car is rock solid on the road with my heaps of torque at and above 1500 rpm. Forget the run flat tyres at $350 plus a pop get solid radials and look forward to smooth comfortable quiet driving experience.

good service companies that don't rip you off with BMW services. Remember all BMW parts check eBay UK before buying service parts in Australia. 2010 BMW 320i Rubbish
Purchased brand new, has been to the dealership on no less than 10 occasions. Added recent invoices up and it has had 14k worth of repairs luckily under warranty. Problem items, 6 months into ownership:
- mechatronics gearbox replacement 11k to fix (6000 km's)
- cylinder head cover replacement and vacuum pump replaced twice (36000 km's and 66000 km's)
- faulty ignition key
Every service was done by a BMW dealership in accordance with the service intervals specified. Car looks great as it is fully optioned. Never done a review before but would like to let people know my experience. It is getting traded asap. The last fault vacuum pump and head cover replacement was covered under Allianz Extended Warranty. No problems with the claim.

BMW 2005 320i E90
These cars are and absolute pleasure to drive, magnificent but don't purchase one, they are a nightmare mechanically. Just ask any mechanic: water pump, radiator, cat converter, sensors, the list goes on...
Their appearance is second to none but beauty with these machines is only skin deep: I loved looking at my BMW but I was afraid to drive it anywhere.

BMW 3 Series E90
I bought my wife a brand new 3 series Executive, paid $65k in 2005, within 10 months the auto blew up, great under warranty, what a Nightmare of a car. Every time we took this car to BMW the minimum cost was $1000. We still have the car, the engine light comes on often, we have replaced that many Valvetronic motors, we continue to get different lights all the time. 2 weeks ago I was offered $4000 as a trade in on a Merc, the dealer apologised to me for the insult, but as he said, the 3 series was the worst car BMW have ever sold. I would agree with him 100%.
NEVER buy a BMW, this piece of ......... cost us a fortune! Not Happy :(

Hi,
I’ve bmw 320i e90 2007, the engine oil level light (yellow) went off that engine oil level is below minimum. I topped up with 1L then I checked oil level and the indicator showed that oil level is OK. One week later, engine oil light went off again, i checked oil level and indicator showed that +1L of engine oil is needed to be topped up, I did add 1L. Two weeks later, engine oil light went off again, I checked the level, it was below minimum, then I checked the oil level again just 2hours later and oil level was OK (above minimum) !!!! [There’s no any oil leak at all]. Can I please know what’s going on with engine oil in my car???!!!
Thanks!

Been thinking about getting a 2005 E90 330i, are there any particularly bad known issues with this model, engine wise (N52 engine I think) or with anything else to do with the car? Don't really want to be continually spending money on fixing it.
1 answer
Hi Jez P, these are wonderful cars to drive. The steering feedback and the road grip of these are awesome. Some of those do suffer from coil pack issues, and injector issues. But my understanding is those are not common and rather common problem is their plastic water pumps rear with time. Check the car with a good independent bmw mechanic. That is worthy. Not buying the car because of fear of these issues at least in my view is like dumping a Victoria’s Secret model because she caught a common cold - happens sometimes, but nothing to split hair upon.
