Good basic dishwasher
Note: The correct model designation is SMS50E32AU.
Let us be clear, this is a base model dishwasher. I like it. Fully loaded, it is very quiet. So quiet that one can happily continue an after dinner conversation while sitting right beside it. It cleans well, even with heavy loads. We always use it on 65C or 70C setting. The only minor issue is that the factory default drying settings are too low. A quick read of the manual will show how to increase the amount of rinse aid and the drying temperature. We ended up buying two Bosh dishwashers (one for the upstairs kitchen and one for the downstairs kitchenette a SMS46GW01A). I am very happy with both and would buy both again tomorrow.

After only three years and two months, the error code E09 appeared which is related to the heat wash pump. I have been told by a repair man that it will cost at least $400 to fix.
As I was very happy with my first Bosch appliance which is a 7.5Kg Front Loader(replaced from a Samsung one), I chose a dishwasher from Bosch without comparing - Even recommended it to my friends and two of them bought the same one!
Now I need to decide whether to fix it or buy a new one as the repair fee is quite a lot.
Very disappointed with this dishwasher.
Happy so far, although not so quiet
After considering all the Choice recommendations we decided on this one because it was as close as we could find to their best recommendation, with the added feature of Time Remaining display. Only had it a couple weeks now & is great to operate & works well. Only dissapointment is it is not as quiet as our old LG, & cant be as quiet as some as the other Bosch (which on paper are amongst the quietest).
Show detailsBest Dishwasher I Have Owned So Far
I want to start by saying I have only had this dishwasher for 1 week so I cannot comment on longevity. However so far I have been really impressed by it.
Pros: It is quiet, cleans brilliantly and is quite spacious so it fits bowls and saucepans I've previously had to do by hand. The quick function is good enough for a normal not too dirty wash but it doesn't dry as well as the regular function. It was a very good price. It is easier to stack and has more options, than other dishwashers I have owned which include a Miele, F and P and a dishlex and cleans far superiorly to any of those mentioned.
Cons: The regular function is very long, about 2 hours.

Questions & Answers
We have aSMS50E32AU/41. The only thing that doesn’t work is that it doesn’t heat the water. I have checked the heat pump and thermostat and there is nothing wrong. My next step is to check any fault within the pcb but I don’t have a copy of the wiring diagram. Are you able to help and provide this?
