Decent pair of earphones.
Honestly expected better from Bose. While the sound quality has slightly improved compared to the older QC20, the level of noise cancelling is greatly sub-par. Compared to its counterpart, the QC35, it doesn't have the ability to completely cancel out the noise of the engine while flying. The design is also slightly uncomfortable on the neck and leaves the earbuds dangling freely when not in use.

Quality Bose sound as expected but occasional wireless issues
I did a lot of research before choosing wireless earphones. The main criteria for me is they needed to be comfortable enough to go to sleep in bed. As far as everyday use, the earbuds are very comfortable in my ear with excellent Bose sound as expected & the thing that hangs around my neck is reasonably comfortable & natural as well. I've had them for about 5 months now & as far as falling asleep with them - they aren't perfect but I'm definitely getting used to them & do regularly fall asleep with them on. They have settings to turn itself o...Read more
ff after various time intervals so the battery doesn't get drained too quickly. Battery life is pretty much as claimed. The only occasional issue is the bluetooth connection. It is easy to set up & connect to most bluetooth devices (my iPhone & Mac but not my Sony PS3) without any problems. Occasionally it is just rather temperamental & will take 2-3 attempts to reconnect via bluetooth. The distance from the bluetooth device is pretty limited before the sound begins to distort or loose sound completely. A few metres in line of site always works but as soon as I go into the room next door it will distort sound quality. From my bedroom to my kitchen is only 5 metres & 1 wall & lose sound completely. I bought them direct from a Bose Store & the service & price was outstanding. They price matched a cheaper price & the added benefit is that you can return them to Bose within 30 days if you don't like them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Useless for phone calls
Biggest disappointment as I wanted to use them as a noise cancelling head set as well as hands free phone in the office. The microphone seems to be the same one that is in the earbuds used for the noise cancelling. The background noise makes this set useless for phone calls. Why not have a separate microphone on the cable volume control? At the price of these this it should be the minimum one should expect. Wasted money.

Very poor design
I've owned these earphones for about 9 months. The noise cancelling, sound quality and app are all great. The thing around the neck is terrible. It would be ok if I was only sitting, standing or walking, but I'm rather active. When I'm gardening, bending, reaching, washing the car, painting, doing maintenance around the house, the thing around the neck constantly slides and drags on the earphones. On a hot day it makes my neck sweat and is very uncomfortable. I love the idea of bluetooth so that I can be rid of annoying cords on earphones. I think these earphones were a horrid waste of money. I'm so sick of the neck thing that I'm returning to my old Bose noise cancelling earphones and their annoying cord.

good noise cancellation function
Bought the piece for several months now and using it almost every day. Overall, it is over priced in terms of the quality of sound. the sound is only $100 level. i love it as the noise cancellation is adjustable. for qc35, the function makes me not feel comfortable but qc 30 solves the problem.

A little bit disappointed
have owned the QC25, 2 sets of the QC20i (I lost one set) and now the QC35. All have great noise cancellation and sound. I love the wireless convenience of the QC35. I was looking forward to the QC30 as a replacement for the QC20i. I found out from Bose support it’s not intended to be a replacement.
I fly between 60 to 90 times per year and rely on the noise cancellation. With all previous models, announcements, conversations around me and screaming babies weren’t a problem. That’s not the case with the QC30. On my 4 hour flight this week I ...Read more
could hear everything. The only way to drown out the kid 3 rows behind me was to turn the music up to full. I typically don’t play music but only leave NC on and work or read. That’s not possible with the QC30. I called Bose support and they told me the QC30 was never intended to be a replacement for the QC20. They said the NC wouldn’t be as strong and wasn’t intended to be. That is why one is designated QuietControl and not QuietComfort. Which I thought was a totally bogus answer. That the QC30 was intended for people with the need for variable noise cancellation levels. I said I didn’t believe their marketing was clear on this. I couldn’t be more disappointed. If you are expecting the NC level of the QC20i or QC25 or QC35, don’t expect it from the QC30Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

excellent product
purchased last month from ebay bose store.... overall very good earphones. I'll prefer it over the QC35 for more portability purpose, but feel it's a little bit pricey though. it's also very useful for gymming or running purpose as i found the back support it has is quite useful when you are on move.

Best noise canceling for in ear headphones
I don't like to wear over the ear headphones. I have a very small head and find them too bulky especially cuz I wear them nearly all day at work. These are great, they are so comfortable and the noise cancelling is awesome. Also I can adjust the noise canceling if I'm using it in situations where I need to outside noise. I use it a lot around the house for phone calls and I can go about doing other things whilst on a call. Excellent product as always with Bose

Major Disappointment
After owning and loving the Bose wired QC20 active noise cancelling headphones and Bose (Bluetooth) SoundTouch Mini speaker I was really excited to hear the noise cancelling headphones are now available in a wireless Bluetooth version. Unfortunately these headphones have not lived up to my expectations. They do not offer the sound quality of the significantly cheaper QC20 and they do not offer the seamless bluetooth experience of the SoundTouch range. The key points of disappointment: (1) phone calls sound appalling; (2) audio chops and stutter...Read more
s the moment I leave my apartment and enter a world filled with competing Bluetooth signals (unacceptable given the price tag for this product); (3) the controls are awkwardly placed and difficult to use; (4) charge time is over 3 hours!; (5) the charging port itself is difficult to locate, has a flimsy cover that feels like it will tear off and the port rejects the USB cable every step of the way - you really need to take some time to get a connection. To top off the experience, tonight the headphones presented a glitch I notice several people have blogged about on the web whereby the green charge indicator light stays illuminated and the headphones will not power off! Just glad I bought this at Apple with its 2 weeks to try a product. After 3 days trial, I'm over it. Gonna take them back tomorrow.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't buy
Blue tooth connection cuts out constantly if you are moving about like just walking for example with phone in pocket. So this renders them totally useless because they are wireless only.
Expected a lot more for an outlay of $ 435.00 !!!
VERY DISAPPOINTING purchase do not waste over four hundred bucks like me.

Flawed design, improved version coming
Bought one of these as soon as they became available at the local department store, and immediately contacted support as I noticed issues. Support got back telling me that they'd keep me posted. They got back to me 3 weeks later telling me they'd exchange my current one with an improved version coming out soon. Why isn't the exchange program been made public, and why did us the early adopters get sold a product with a design flaw in the first place?

Bose QC30 great for travelling, but...
My wife and I are traveling more now that kids are grown up. We find that plane trips more than a couple of hours quite tiring. I read a bit about the benefits of noise cancelling headphones but was a bit skeptical. So I tried the latest available, the Bose QC 30. Never owned any Bose before this. I tested this on my trip to South Korea, 5hrs to Singapore and then 6 hours to Seoul. I was impressed. I could listen to stuff peacefully. My wife does not usually listen to music on the plane but when it was her turn to try she loved it and wouldn't ...Read more
give it up. She normally struggles on plane trips but the headphones made her feel much better. Pros - easy to wear, easy to connect, excellent sound quality and noise cancelling, no wires Cons - less than 15hrs usage, needs to be charged, cannot connect to the planes system. Not all devices have a headphone jack so a wireless headphone can be a good thing, but being able to connect to the planes system would be handy and a wired headphone would be much cheaper. I'll be getting the wired version a well, the QC 20, so when my wife and I travel we'll have both and can swap if needed. Look out for the review of the QC20.Similar opinion? How to get the 30QC connected to the on-flight enetertainment system?
2 answers
You need a bluetooth transmitter (make sure it's transmitter not receiver, some company have both function in one device) and a 2 prong airplane adapter. You can get them cheaply in online shops. Plug the 2 prong airplane entertainment adaptor first, then connect the bluetooth transmitter on that, pair your QC30 to the transmitter. Wala~~ you are connected to the airplane entertainment system!
Thanks Alice! I thought something as I paid no attention buying a bluetooth adapter. Obviously that is a receiver as I struggled hard and it wpn’t work. Thanks a lot! I need to buy a transmitter!
