Purchased one of these using rewards points - so no receipt as such. The bowl the has cracked at the base. How do I get a replacement?

not the answer you want to hear but I have the exact same issue. Don't think you can buy the bowl separately... which sucks!

Hi I received the all in one stick in feb 2015, the motor blew up on the first use so I. Returned it to Myer and got a new one, now after whipping cream the motor went again. I imagine there is nothing I can do since it's past the 12 months warranty? Thanks

It maybe worthwhile reading the Australian consumer law which states that a product must last as long as is reasonable expected based on the price, I would say it is reasonable to expect this product to last 2 or 3 years based on a $200 price and it would be worth pursuing this with Myers or Breville but go in with the Consumer law printed out and no one can argue with that ! Good Luck

I can't get the gearbox out of the lid. Instructions say it simply pulls out, but there is no way that I can even budge it. Any suggestions?

Hi Colin - The gear box is clip fitted tightly on the lid. It may be slightly hard to remove initially, but comes off with a bit extra force. If you need more assistance please call 1300 139 798. Thanks, the Breville team

This is many years later but in case anyone reads this later: It helped me to know that the two gaskets at the bottom of the lid are stationary (don't pull out). Indeed a part on top of those does pop off the top with a little bit harder pull. For me it helps to know that it won't break anything to pull and to not to pry from the bottom.

I am looking purchasing this product as looks good with all the features thatt I need and is compact. Only thing from reviews the moter seem to be packing up on alot of them.
Is the 12 month warranty for the whole product or does the motor have a longer warranty?

Hi, I rang Breville Customer Support when my motor died, and they said the 12 month warranty was also for the motor component.

Hi, I just bought one of these sets today prior to reading any reviews, and I'm sad to see that motor longevity is a major issue. The manufacturer warranty is only 12 months, but given the reviews I've been reading I think consumer protection is a real avenue if just outside warranty. For $200, you should get more. When I got mine, the saleswoman said she would throw in 2 year extended warranty and $30 off under the guise of price matching. I thought it odd, but I wasn't arguing. I thought she might be getting bonuses for selling extra warranty. But maybe she knew they were problematic.

Will this model blend nuts easily?

Breville
Breville ·

Hi Mike - the instruction manual recommends not processing hard foods such as coffee, grains or chocolate in lumps, as damage to the blade may result. You can review it in full here http://www.breville.com.au/media/mediaappearance/13195/BSB530_IB_A12_FA_Lowres.pdf

Just wondering why a brand new Breville all in one and using it for the very first time to mix hazelnuts scotch finger biscuits which had already been blitzed together then when adding butter would cause the handle to get really hot and then start smoking? and we are talking small quantities of all product. Furthermore if the unit still works after cooling down, is it safe to use again, not good for a brand new product....and as for just taking it back to the store we still have the receipt but we bought it approx a year ago and it has just sat in the cupboard and today it finally found its first use...just can't get my head around why the handle would get so hot and smoke?...Kind Regards Eric

Hi Eric, This shouldn't happen if you're only doing a small amount and not overloading the motor. Could you please contact our customer service department on 1300 139 798 or [email protected]. They will get a bit more information from you and should be able to assist.
Kind regards, The Breville Team

Im not sure. It should not. Other than my bowl cracking as mentioned in my review, I have chopped nuts including hazelnuts and pistachios without a problem. One needs to make sure everything fits together well and that a nut is not trapped under the blades when putting everything together.

Hi Guys...Thanks for your quick replys...I have spoken to my wife in what she actually did, as far as the machine being and fitting together there wasn't any problems...Here's what she done, just want to clear the overload part or if it is overload on her part just leave it at that. She weighed out 250g scotch finger biscuits, before putting them in the machine she broke them up into little pieces, she put the machine on 15 as per instruction book and then she pulsed until a rough crumb. Then she added 1/3 cup butter 1/3 cup hazelnuts and one tablespoon of Nutella and proceeded to mix the lot together, that's when the motor got really hot and started smoking and she stopped....So what I'm asking is, is this machine overload or should this still not have happened? it's her first machine like this so if she is at fault she will put it down to experience, the motor is still working, we tested it after it cooled down, but just want to clear this before we use it again just incase there is a fault with the motor smoking when you use it...

Hi, the motor/some small part just burnt out and has snapped off on top of the grating attachment- and left bits of metal all over the top- what do I do now?? Never had a problem until this week it became incredibly noisy and struggled, followed all instructions as usual and wasn't using it for anything new and now it's not working!! Not happy!!! Was a wedding present so don't have a receipt. And not impressed I had to throw my food out either!!

I have just ordered mine using my Flybuy points and am looking forward to receiving it.one of your happy reviewers mentioned making smoothies with it. How can you make a smoothie as I thought I would need to buy a separate blender? Thanking you in advance

Breville
Breville ·

Hi Carina, We recommend using the All-in-One as a stick blender when making smoothies. Simply place the ingredients into a large jug and using a gently up and down action your ingredients will be blended to make a perfect smoothie! Hope this helps. Kind regards, The Breville Team

I am considering buying an All-In-One. As I have only one arm, would holding the processing button whilst feeding food into the tube be a problem?

Breville
Breville ·

Hi Deviat, as the All-in-one uses the motor head of a stick mixer it requires the button to be pressed the whole time, it is a safety feature that is standard in all stick mixers. This would make it difficult when you want to do any slicing or grating. In general I think this unit might be a bit fiddly for you. What are the types of foods you want to do and we might be able to suggest another product.

I would use a strong wide rubber band, a band aid and an uncooked chickpea. Just saying, situations like this you need to think outside the box. Just use switch at power point for off/on. Might not be the best for the motor given reviews I've read, but give it a crack if ya keen Macgruber.
