Breville Kitchen Wizz 15 Pro BFP800 (page 3 of 7)

I bought this one from Harvey Norman, assuming more the price better the quality will be and Breville brand.
Thought will be great help in kitchen, but due to poor quality the small holding screws and rubber on lid completely came off due to which it doesn't hold tight and rotate the blade. So finally all the attachments are useless without the lid and small plastic on lid which is damaged. I burnt my finger while touching the top of the blade which was attached to spinders. Poor plastic bowl.
Machine has 25 years warranty but parts are completely made in China quality.

I bought the bfp800 last year and use it almost everyday. It's amazing and I love how quickly I can make cakes, doughs, whip cream ect. Just the other day while making dough the plastic bowl cracked and went all through my dough. After reading reviews on here about others issues with the bowl and Customer service I felt I may have a fight on my hands to have the bowl replaced. I rang customer service this morning and straight away they organised a replacement bowl to be delivered to my door. Thank you breville :)

So this is replacing the hopeless food processor I've reviewed previously.
It's pretty amazing! You can fit whole potatoes sideways in the chute and they get cut into chips in a few seconds. The double blade attachment makes quick work of celery and a bowl full of vegies.

I have only given it 3 stars because they stated that the small bowl is sealed from the big bowl.. If you're chopping up nuts its not sealed. I had small chopped nuts falling into the big bowl. - Seriously if you're going to advertise it doesn't do this.. make sure it doesn't!

So the bowl has cracked 9 months after I bought it. The bowl isn't covered under warranty so will cost $90 to replace. For the price paid originally very unimpressed...

Motor is fantastic and makes light work of preparing food. But the quality of the bowl is terrible. Always handwash but there is a crack next to the spindle so any liquid now leaks out the bottom. Only used 5 times for light processing. Don't waste your money as the bowl is not up to the task.

Purchased 1 weeks ago and encountered problems today. Blitzed 3 bread slices + garlic using quad blade in large bowl. Added 500g mince and pulsed to combine with blitzed bread. Then added 1 egg during a 10sec cycle of blades. Blades/motor began to slow and spin spasmodically after adding egg. I stopped unit and turned it off in fear of ruining the motor. Not ideal. Supposed to be the most powerful unit I could get and it cost $500. It should cope with such a modest load easily. What's the story Breville?

I purchased the kitchen wizz pro last year thinking this was the best and most powerful item in its price range as I was upgrading a 750w sunbeam that was still operating. The unit seemed to work fine at first, however when I tried to chop some dates in it, the blades just spun around and didn't do anything. Had it for 3 year but getting rid of it. Got a new lid as old lid was missing. Old lid's inner plastic part where the spindle attaches was also distorted and melted anyway (so not using much due to fear of plastic getting into my food). New lid ordered last month. It has more attachments than I know what to do with and it takes up a lot of space, but it does a quick job of grating cabbage, carrots, beetroot, ginger and other veggies for my fermenting pot.
Cleaning is a chore but easier than I had expected. I wish it also had a blender attachment.

I love this machine, i use it almost daily to chop and shred veggies. The large capacity means i can do lots at one go. The motor is rather heavy and powerful and sits well on the table. I have been using it for 5 years now and so far am pleased with it. However, the only difficulty i have with the machine is that the "bowl" and the "lid" seem to be getting a bit "sticky" and hard to place into position. i need to use a bit of strength and adjustment to put it in place.

I bought this processor about two years ago and initially I was very happy! Nice and big bowl and a generous shoot (no more chopping things into small pieces). It comes with an AMAZING whipping attachment which will whip cream in seconds!!! The grater attachments are great too.

Yes it works perfectly. It's a very powerful machine all accessories are great.. I mostly use the small bowl and blade or large bowl and blade. But have used the dough attachment for gluten free bread mix and it did an excellent job. Looking forward to making butter in it to.

I purchased this machine back in Nov 2015 and have been using it regularly (several times a week). I like that it has a box to keep the attachments in one place. The motor is powerful and the large bowl is enough for a small family to make salads (coleslaw etc) and snacks like bliss balls etc. The only downside for me is one time when I was using the large bowl to process lemongrass. The lemon grass was too hard and it actually melted the middle of the bowl. It has changed the shape of the bowl though I can still use it but it is starting

I am a very light user of my processor so am surprised at how weak it is. The first parts to go were the mini bowl and blade. One side of the blade actually fell off during use and was hitting the other blade and I had metal shards in my sauce (which had to be thrown out) and it cracked the bowl. Now the main bowl has a big crack. To replace these parts is almost as much as a new machine. This is the best food processor I have bought. The motor is strong, the blades are very sharp, needing care with cleaning. I hand wash all parts except the blades which seem safe in the dishwasher. The parts and accessories assemble easily. The motor base is quite heavy to lift. Unfortunately the plastic bowl has cracked and its handle is loose, so I am needing to replace this after 12 months of regular use. Nothing has been dropped or damaged.

I'm only learning this machine but I wish I came with a blender attachment. Even if you could purchase it separately. I feel that is the only thing that lets this unit down a bit. If I need to blend sugar I need to use another appliance. Any Advice please

Very surprised. Very dangerous.
The blades started whizzing when the lid was off, my wife was very lucky she was not hurt. As it was food all over the room and the utensil flew into the wall. This has now happened again, and she noticed she had brushed the on button.

Excellent power in this beast. Honestly, it doesn't even struggle with any of the discs ( grating, julienne, chipper, & the adjustable slicer is the greatest option ever- beetroot slices, apple chips, potato chips or slice for potato bake, capsicum slices, mushroom, onion rings). I have been known to grate my Castile soap on very regular occasions( in order to melt for liquid Castile soap). I haven't used the milkshake attachment. I have had this machine for under a year and have loved it and have looked after it carefully! I have always washed it as per manufacturer's guidelines. However, I noticed a crack in the handle after it came out of the dishwasher. This machine is a great processor. Only problem with it is the actual bowl which is plastic and I've found out the hard way. On opening the box the bowl fell out immediately onto the floor and several pieces of the plastic broke off. Has since had more plastic come away too. Big disappointment that at the time Breville advertised dish washer safe top shelf, but when you get it home and read the instructions it says dishwasher not recommended because of rubber seals. A bit of false advertising I feel. Also don't try to do cakes, meringues etc as it won't perform on these. Won't beat eggs.

This processor has all the attachments you will ever need and they are made strong so they don't break! The motor in this unit is the best I've come across and is the only one that will chop up dried dates and figs. It's also easy to operate and clean. Love it.

My accessories box for the kitchen wizz pro has been very difficult to open from the day I bought the food processor - I would literally have to force the lid open and would hear a massive bang, to even use the accessories inside. There is another review about the same problem on this page (faulty accessories box).

Now the back of the lid has broken off (so there must be a manufacturing fault causing the lid to become trapped against the back of the box) and Breville want to charge me over $100 to send me a new accessories box despite the fact that it is a manufacturing defect. They used to be a fantastic company but now I am very disappointed with Breville's customer service.

My lid smashed the day after I bought it before I got to use it. Dodgey plastic, not covered by warranty apparently. Very poor customer service by Breville. AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!
I had read the plastic was very fragile before I purchased, but I didn't expect it to be as bad as it is. Do NOT buy the BFP800.

Plastic bowl broke within 2 months called Breville and parts are not included in warranty! Worst customer service I have ever come across. I did not drop if or mis use it, it is a terrible product after spending over $400. Do not buy!!!! Either buy a better one with a stainless steel bowl or save you money on another cheaper one.

everything works just great.French frys,perfect. The quad blade makes the best seconds, you can choose your meat cut, and not what they sell pre packaged.we just love onion rings.I have not tried making mayonnaise yet, that will on the cards soon. I have had the Breville BFP800 for about 6 years and it has been fine however l have noticed that the area around the LCD display is Bubbling and lifting up (like it is rusting). l am very careful to follow the instructions to wipe down and dry thoroughly after each use however the issue is that the processing bowl handle (after being washed and dried) still has water which can't be removed and when you lock the bowl into place and store it away, it leaks over the LCD display button causing this problem which l noticed today because it was left

I purchased my processor about 18 months ago and was super impressed. about 10 months in i was chopping onions and the base was over heating and smoke was coming out. I turned the machine off and called the breville hotline and I was told that it was normal wait 30minutes and start it again. 30 minutes later more heat, more smoke and now a weird noise. I have researched food processors for a few years now but I don't know if i really need one or not. Often i read recipies that suggest to use a processor and i tend to not make those recipies because i don't have a processor.. they seem to make life easier, but not sure how much use i would get out of one. I'm also vegetarian now, so at minimum i want one for slicing up big salads/ grating veggies etc.

I bought this machine expecting it to be the quality that Breville made it out to be. Within 1 year of very light use we noticed a peice of metal in the spindle drive socket which was half of a spindle retention ring for the base of the bowl. The ring is made of very poor quality steel and fractures very easily. This is a very dangerous flaw which could result in the failure of the bowl when the blades are turning at high speed.

Very poor service!

I picked up my machine and was very inpressed with the look..yet noticed the double blades looked a bit scary to handle.. handle i did and fumbled with the blades and managed to slice through my palm which resulted a trip to ER and plastic surgery later that day to sew tendon and muscle.. out of action for 6 weeks..

Managed to get over my fear of these blades and started to use the machine when after a few minutes of use it overheated..took a good 40min to cool down.
That didn't impress me much!

I spent a solid 3 months researching which food processor we wanted to invest our money in, the Revile BFP800 kept coming up as the one to get, we bought it in March of this year and used it probably once to twice a week and worked great. We took great care of it, never using it beyond it's intended uses and it worked great until yesterday when I decided to whip some cream (as per the recipe booklet instructions), I poured the cream into the bowl, began the whisking process, paused the machine to scrape down the sides and noticed cream all over

I have a Breville BFP 800 and the lid is terrible. I believe it is faulty and should be replaced, it is just an accident waiting to happen. I am going to damage my hand trying to lock it into position. Would be happy if the lid was replaced and I never had a problem with it again.

I purchased this in Jan 16 had this food processor for 7 months and loved it, then one day i was blitzing biscuits when the blade slowed down and within seconds a horrible burn smell came out. Do not buy this product until the mixing bowl is redesigned!! I have now had 2x bowls fail with cracks at the chuck after less than 2 months of intermittent use. Breville did replace our bowl the first time round free of charge... this time I want a full refund. Complete waste of my time and money.

The Kitchen Wizz Pro is overall a strong & sturdy machine.But the Quad processing blade & the mini processing blades are difficult to fit & dangerous to remove, I have cut myself a few times. The instruction booklet advises that the blades are very sharp, but there is no easy way of removing them.

I was not sure if I would really use a food processor much as I had only ever owned a little mini one that was not so helpful. Oh my goodness this machine is fantastic and I use it every week. It also has a small bowl that is great for pesto and small amounts of dip. The bigger bowl is generous and I use it all the time for salads, grating veg.

Buyer beware, this product will cost you more than the purchase price even during the first year if you want to keep using it. Have a look at this site; currently 8 out of 11 reviews on page 1 complain that the plastic (the bowl or lid) has cracked during normal use. When you contact Breville about this they respond "Unfortunately anything that comes off for washing is deemed a consumerble and not covered under warranty inluding blades" and they suggest you buy a new one (for $100!).
