My family of 5 are looking into cruising with Carnival Spirit to New Caledonia for 8 nights . It will be our first time ever cruising . We are hearing slot of bad reviews with this line including the bad gastro outbreak. What are your thoughts ? Do I go or find another line?
My family of 6 did the same cruise on the same ship. It was our first cruise and we went in July of this year.

I have booked cruise with carnival cruise, but about 2 weeks prior to cruise dates I had to travel to my home country due to unexpected event (my father passed away) and we returned after the cruise dates. I contacted carnival customer service and hoping to get a full refund as I believe it was a genuine case, provided my fathers Death certificate and our boarding passes both ways. And they provided only a cruise credit which I'm not in the situation to use it for various reasons including my financial situation due to unexpected overseas travel and other expenses during the trip. I have explained this to them many times requested that I need a refund and not the cruise credit. But they just simply ignore my request keep coming back with the same response saying they can't refund.
Any suggestions on how should we go about this would be a great?

About $A 8 for a beer or simple cocktail, From $A30 for a bottle of wine with dinner. $A14 more fancy cocktails pushed by travelling waiters while you relax in your deck chair.
Wasn't drinking but noticed the cocktails were very popular and also large. They were offering $13 cocktails on arrival, so this might be the way to go. Same drink in a bar in Melbourne would be min $20.00
I think spirits straight were about $9.

The cabins do not have Tea or Coffee making facilities but you can get tea,coffee and hot chocolate on deck 9 all day,there is green tea available as well.

Can you tell me if you have a balcony room is smoking permitted? Are there many designated smoking areas on the Carnival Spirit?

None of the rooms allow smoking inside in the stateroom or in the balcony.
But the pool side area has lot of open smoking loungues.

Beer is about $7.50 pretty sure they have vb but cannot be sure. They have XXXX and most Aussie beers
I would like to know if my husband can smoke his vapor cigarette on the cruise 8th January. There isn't any odour at all and no nicotine in it. He gave up smoking 3 months ago after smoking for 53 years. I am worried that if he has to go to the smoking area that he will be tempted to smoke again. Thank you. Regards Denise Shacallis

There is also juice in the morning and very nice lemon juice squash the rest of the time. The coffee shop on Level 2 forward makes nice speciality coffee which you have to purchase and milkshakes for $4.95.
Thank you guys. Bit disappointed that there is only soft drink packages. On P & O we had everything included, Speciality coffee the best hot chocolate and T2 as well as cocktails spirits wine or beer. Did see anyone go over the limit.

Read morehe public food areas you can get toast or bread and use one of the knives to spread it. You can remove food from those areas on a plate without any problem and take it to your cabin if you want to but you can probably do this in the dining room too without any hassle. If the crew you come across are as nice as the ones we met, they will do all they can to help you. To make your journey as easy as possible make sure you check out the sea sickness tablets at your pharmacy before you travel, I found the natural ones are not really worthwhile so take time to look into that .
