The review of Not a supporter - 'Duty of care for under 18’s zero' - from two years ago was eerily replicated by my daughter's experience last weekend. Same allowing intoxicated students to board, same police being called, same returning to dock two hours early and throwing *everybody* off - with crew shouting at the students for good measure. A potentially great night ruined.

We're sorry to hear about the termination of your daughter's recent cruise. We operate hundreds of cruises a year and indeed thousands over the past 30+ years that we have been in operation. Termination of a cruise is a very rare and unfortunate event, however, at times necessary in the interest of safety and the wellbeing of our passengers and staff. All of our school socials, university socials and any events deemed "high risk" are monitored and patrolled by licensed security, the crowd is screened upon boarding for visible signs of intoxication and bags are checked for alcohol, drugs and/or other contraband. Despite our best efforts to isolate an issue or individuals responsible, cruises can still get out of hand. As per the terms of hire signed by the event organiser (or a responsible adult acting on their behalf in the case of school socials), Vagabond Cruises reserves the right to terminate a cruise in the interest of the safety and wellbeing of passengers and staff if this occurs. It is our duty of care that police be contacted and to be present upon the debarkation of passengers in such instances, again, for the safety of all involved. We are sorry that your daughter and other innocent cruise-goers missed out on what I'm sure would have otherwise been an enjoyable evening. It is truly unfortunate that the actions of a few can impact those who are genuinely looking to have a good time, however, Vagabond Cruises was acting in the interest of their safety and welbeing which we consider to be paramount. Attended Saturday night Latino Dinner Cruise combining Vivid lights, for a Hens celebration...Exceptional, music and live audience participation Latino dance Show. Buffet style fresh and delicious food, very helpful staff with an energetic atmosphere onboard would go again.

OK cruise
Went on the Saturday night Latin cruise which was OK without being great. The food was good but the entertainment was extremely loud for such a small area. The entertainment consisted of some loud drums and a few girls dancing. The drinks were a bit expensive but you expect that on a harbour cruise. What you don't expect is the rudeness of the barman who could only grunt. He obviously doesn't enjoy his job. Avoided him by going to the upstairs bar where they were much friendlier.

We're glad that you enjoyed the food and entertainment. We agree, the live brazilian drumming during the into and outro of the show is definitely loud! We find that most of our guests find it enthralling. We hope you also enjoyed the main portion of the show which involves male and female dancers performing to actual tracks as well as the fun audience participation. Surprised you found the drinks to be expensive. Call us crazy, but $6.50 beers and $7 wines and spirits seems pretty reasonable to us. To each their own though ;) We're sorry to hear about the grumpy bartender. That's not usally the case with our staff who are usually very warm and welcoming, but we're glad that you enjoyed the service from the bartender on the upper-deck. As you're an avid cruise goer, we'd be happy to offer you 10% off of your next cruise with Vagabond between January-October. Great cruise except for an unexpected circumstance
My family experienced a cruise on the 'Spirit' on Christmas Day. The food was of a good standard with a plentiful supply and the staff were friendly and efficient. A day prior to the cruise I suddenly was notified that two family
members were unable to attend due to a mental breakdown.. Management do not bend their strict refund policy under any circumstance as Vagabond Cruises is purely focused on profits,
Please be cautious when booking with this company.

Unfortunately, it is true that tickets are non-refundable for all special event cruises as per our terms and conditions, especially with only 24 hours notice. Not Recommended. Low grade Service
Deplorable to say the Least!!!! Below average food and old dirty boat. Staff were misleading when I made a booking claiming a seafood buffet with an open bar. The bar was far from open and the food was nothing short of crappy!!!! Definitely did not meet my expectations and extremely unsatisfactory!!!! The money we paid was worth more than the ugly boat itself we were taken for a ride and lied about standard we were getting. a food seemed to be the wife of the owner of the boat!!!! Very standards for what they stated “was a premium package” I’d hate to see what the lesser package was. If you pay for an open bar, then you should commit to that agreement and not mislead customers with your low grade service Not to mention serving my friend cold and hot water demanding she drink it prior to serving her a fourth pint of Sambuca in four hours!! Absolutely appalling!! No common courtesy of calling me back as promised. Not worth the money that was paid!! Should have gone to Product Review before I made this booking!! How mean?
Booking was easy, the food was good, staff were helpful but there was no music on the top deck at all apparently no one checked to see if it was working??? but the thing we can't get over was we bought a bottle of wine from them which cost $35.00 (shore prices) and they stopped my wife taking it off the boat!!! Surely if you BUY it it's YOURS? apparently not according to Vagabond, merry xmas to you too Vagabond...

Christmas Lunch
We had a party of 10 for Christmas lunch on the Princess boat.We were split into 2 tables not facing each other so “family time” over lunch was difficult.We had barely sat down when the photographer attempted to take us outside for a photo and told us she couldn’t be certain she would be there for long.This was 7 minutes after we boarded and sat down.Her rudeness put us off having a photo taken.The wait staff were arguing with each other in earshot iof patrons.No hand wash in ladies toilet immediately upon boarding.Windows of the vessel were so...Read more
dirty,it made it difficult to see the view.The buffet was served table by table as you were called.They called 2 tables upstairs and then stopped so everyone got up and it was bedlam at the buffet with people going in both directions.Staff were physically grabbing patrons and pushing them along the line.The food itself was excellent.Fresh and plenty of it.Kudos to the kitchen staff.My grandson went to buy 2 jugs of soft drink and the bar lady could barely speak English and poured him bourbon until another bar staff member corrected her.The coffee was luke warm because it sat so long while they fetched milk.All the while we had the smell coming from the toilets the whole trip.A couple were seated at a table right at the base of the stairs.This made it difficult when several people were going up and down the stairs.To sun up,the kitchen staff could not have done better,the food was marvellous but nearly all of the other staff including the photographer were rude and sullen or couldn’t understand English.Unfortunately I couldn’t recommend this boat for a family Christmas lunch.Similar opinion? Duty of care for under 18’s zero
Warnings to parents of under 18. Think twice about allowing you teenager to attend their ‘school social’ on board. Despite their written and verbal promise to provide a safe environment for students on board, the reality is the opposite. Intoxicated and drug affected students were allowed to board the cruise. Names were not checked (as promised) allowing randoms to board, ID was also not checked. e or for patrons bad behaviour. but such behaviour would have been lessened and indeed non existent if they did not allow intoxicated students to board. It was bound to result in out of control behavior from some students. Which leads me to support those students who weren’t intoxicated or destructive and went on this cruise to sail around the Harbour with their friends. Surprise, surprise the cruise barely left shore and was stationary for a good hour before heading off for a short ride to the Opera House. Then the company decided to sail back due to poor behaviour of SOME an hour and a half earlier than it should have. A visit or two also from the police made the night even more problematic and less enjoyable. I believe this is a common practice of Vagabond Cruises to cut short these school socials due to bad behaviour and then pull the pin of the night ( an hour and a half early). I recently booked my company's Christmas party onboard the charming Vagabond Princess (older style vessel but in excellent condition). Every detail of my company's request was met from the food, to the bar, the Christmas decor and even the Dj! The seafood smorgasbord was exceptional and so delicious! Great food & atmosphere!
Was very happy with the food and performance. We had a smorgasbord of food. The food was a combination of seafood and meats with desserts. The bar was open throughout all the cruise. The bartender we're fun and proffesonal in making cocktails. Recommend for a good night out.

Unhappy with dining experience
The food was described as delicious appetizers and on arrival I received corn chips, some raw vegetables and a dip.
The food was questionable. They said it was an international buffet. There was a pasta, salads, cutlets and some meat that was hard to cut or eat.
Minimal desserts were given.
I found it was not anything like it was advertised.
