Burning tongue and bottom lip
A week ago I switched from my normal colgate toothpaste as this was on special at coles. I told one of the girls at worm that my lip felt wierd a few days after starting using it then tonight while brushing my teeth my lips and tongue both started burning instantly knew it was the new toothpaste. I hopped on internet to see it had zinc in at as I am allergic to zinc and found these reviews it appears I am not alone.

Gave me mouth ulcers
After using for over a week I experienced mouth ulcers on my top lip . I have never experienced mouth ulcers before and thought I may of been lacking in something- After talking to my doctor he asked me if I had changed anything. Realising it was the toothpaste I stopped using and I'm happy to say I am now ulcer free!

Sore tongue and mouth ulcers
I have been experiencing a red sore tongue, dry mouth and the worst part, mouth ulcers. I have seen two doctors and even had blood tests to try and work out what was happening. I have always used Colgate Tartar Control toothpaste but last year I bought Colgate advanced whitening toothpaste and realised that this was the problem. Since I have stopped using it my mouth has come back to normal but the whole experience was a very distressing and costly experience. Maybe there should be a warning on the pack!.

Clogging When Trying To Squeeze From Tube
While I really like the taste of this product, I have recently wondered about the constant clogging of dried toothpaste at the opening of the tube. I seem to scrape off and discard as much dried toothpaste as I am actually using. So it is not economical, and also makes me wonder about the ingredients.

Bye bye Colgate!
I'm a lifelong Colgate toothpaste user, and I'm certain I haven't bought a non-Colgate toothpaste in the last 10 years. I saw the 190g tube of this product at the local Coles supermarket a month or so ago, and it was on sale so I stocked up by buying 5 tubes of it.
After finishing the toothpaste I had at home, opened this one and used it. I noticed it made my tongue sore, and caused the inside of my cheeks to peel a little. It doesn't foam very well either and feels like brushing my teeth with cream. I thought I would get used to it but it...Read more
happens every time, and my wife complained too. Rang up Colgate customer service expecting to be able to exchange it, I was told I need the receipt to get an exchange as they are 'just like any retail store' - funny because I thought I was calling up Colgate customer care not a shop! I mean who keeps receipts of grocery from a month ago.. So basically I'm going to throw away 5 tubes of Colgate Advanced Whitening toothpaste and make a point of never buying Colgate again. You're welcome for 32 years of loyal custom. See ya!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Ouch!
Have never had a problem with toothpaste before but after 2 weeks of use began getting sore chapped lips which eventually began getting small blisters on them, also had the skin peeling off of the inside of my mouth, I have never had these issues before and did not immediately make the link to my toothpaste. After trying many things over the space of a week to fix my sore lips I realised it may be the toothpaste, have since changed back to using Colgate total and within 3 days my lips have almost completely healed up again. Disconcerting to know a toothpaste can cause such a painful chemical reaction to your lips and I am concerned about the ingredients. Am now boycotting Colgate all together.

Potentially dangerous
After seeing so many ads on TV, I decided I may as well give it a go. My teeth have always had a consistent yellowish tinge which other whitening toothpastes have been unable to fix. With Colgate's '14 Day Guarantee' I finally decided to give it a go. The first few times I used it, it was fine, and my teeth did seem to be getting whiter. Then, after a week or so of daily use, my tongue began to peel. I didn't really think much on it, as my tongue felt a bit burned (although I didn't recall burning it). A few days later, it happened again. This ...Read more
time I Googled the issue and found out that this seems to be happening to a lot of people using these types of toothpastes. I'm swapping back to my old toothpaste again, but my tongue feels so sensitive, my mouth seems to be constantly dry, and even my gums have gone bright red. I understand that not everyone will have this reaction, but the fact that it happens at all seems a bit concerning...2 comments

Avoid.
I used to use Colgate until I learned that Triclosan is an endocrine disruptor. It's now banned in my household. The last thing we need in our lives is more dodgy chemicals in our bodies.

This toothpaste has a strong minty taste and since its so strong, I only need to use a small amount. Overall, this is a good whitening toothpaste that I use, just not on continuous days because its so strong.
I have used this product and if you keep using it, it did make my teeth whiter. Unfortunately, all whitening teeth are so strong, that I cannot use them every day, I have to keep switching between them and a regular paste and then I am fine.
I think it made my teeth a bit whiter, after some months of using it. It is expensive, but comes on special on a regular basis at most supermarkets.

Well Colgate Advanced Whitening Toothpaste is a good product. With continued use it does whiten your teeth and to keep them white you have to continue using the product. I like the taste of the toothpaste and you only need a small amount to do a good brushing. You wont get them as white as you see on the packet but who would expect that anyway..lets be realistic about this. I used it and it does whiten your teeth, if I had my teeth whitened by a Dentist first then I am sure I would contially ue this product. The packaging fits in with the Col...Read more
gate brands of Toothpaste, the price is a little more but comes in a large tube and all in all I think it is a good product from Colgate. My Mother already uses Colgate but yes I would see if my friends were interested in trying it. Colgate a trusted household name.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This is our regular brand. It helps maintain the whiteness of my teeth, so that tea and wine are not making them yellow. My husband's teeth are yellower than mine because he used to smoke and the toothpaste is slowly lightening his teeth, but this is over months of use, not weeks.
Overall, I choose this toothpaste because the flavour is mild and it is easy to find large tubes at K-Mart or the grocery store, often on sale. Plus Colgate is a trusted brand name.
Tastes good, Widely available, good at keeping teeth white
It's teeth whiting claims are overstated.

I have never had the best luck in using everyday whitening toothpaste products to get teeth looking whiter. This toothpaste does leave your teeth feeling clean and the taste is quite nice but I am not sure that it will really make your teeth whiter within two weeks like it claims to. But as a general toothpaste it does a good job. It is more expensive than other toothpaste varieties though.
Usually always stocked at supermarkets, easy to use, leaves teeth nice and clean. Fresh taste.
You will pay more for this toothpaste but it does leave teeth clean and fresh.

It's alright… like I said, it cleans your teeth pretty well and whitens them in the short term however, it definitely does not do what is says it does on the packaging and the photo of those white as white teeth is quite deceiving. I use to get my teeth professionally whitened however, in the last year due to finances had to stop. Although I've used Colgate whitening for a few years THINKING the product was helping - I've realised lately it didn't and it doesn't. My teeth look white until the next time I have a coffee, coke or anything along those lines. Overall, it's alright but keep an eye out for something better!
Cleans your teeth well.. short term whitening (very short term).
Expensive for something that doesn't work THAT great!

As far as tooth paste goes, this is a good paste. It tastes ok, and i have not had any problems with it. Perhaps it is a bit over-priced though, as it is more expensive because it is 'whitening'. I don't think that 'whitening' toothpaste ever makes much of a difference to the colour of my teeth, but who knows, perhaps it will work for you. Overall, there is nothing really bad about this tooth paste!
The tast is ok, its not horrible and overpowering as some toothpastes are.
I dont think it has actually whitened my teeth, not that i have ever found that a whitening toothpaste has.
