A Positive Experience with My Cuisine Art Ice Cream Maker.
We do not eat ice cream on a regular basis but when I saw a recipe for Pina Colada Ice Cream I just had to make it! The machine is easy to use and clean, and the instructions are simple and clear - you just need to remember to freeze the ice cream making cylinder the night before. It is noisy but as it only takes some 30 minutes to churn, it is not an issue for us. I would recommend this product.
Easy to use and very easy to clean. Our first and only ice cream was very good.
It is fairly large and unattractive. That however is still not an issue for us as we have plenty of cupboard space in which to house it.

This is my fourth summer of having this ice cream maker and it is brilliant! It was the appliance that turned me onto cusinart, I was so impressed with the icecream maker that I went with the brand on other appliances too and have been equally impressed with them all.
I find it is best to store the bowl in a chest freezer if you have one, you seem to get a more solid consistency right away that way, or if using a normal freezer, just pop the finished product in the freezer when made to firm up a bit...or eat it right away like we do when it is

I have been making ice cream for two years now and this is my third ice cream maker. I've had a Crazy Scoops Ice Cream Maker by Breville which was a wonderful ice cream maker and lasted over one year until the day I accidently dropped the bowl and it cracked. That was a sad day! ... Read moreng that the cheapest price for this machine was over a hundred including shipping. This ice cream maker is honestly and whole heartedly the best one I've had. It performs brilliantly every time. I could not be happier and pleased with my purchase. The bowl does need to be well frozen to perform well, by that I mean a good 24 hours at least. If the bowl is frozen for over 2 days then I do not even chill the mixture before I pour it in and the ice cream still turns out with a good consistency (like soft serve ice cream). If the mixture is pre-chilled than the ice cream will be ready quicker and the consistency will be harder. I normally keep it in the freezer as I have an upright freezer with room to keep it frozen. I am very happy and satisfied with the way the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker performs and whole heartedly recommend it! Reliable and it performes brilliantly! I love this machine, I just wish the bowl had come with a lid like the breville's Crazy Scoops had. That is not really a con just an observation.

I was looking for the cheapest ice-cream maker on the market and didn't have high expectations. The machine works just fine, have not had a problem yet in 6 months of almost daily use. It is a somewhat noisy little bugger, but the results have been mostly all good. Ice-cream is probably the deceptively easiest and hardest thing to make well - get the balance of cream, milk, sugar and flavorings out a little and the results can be inconsistent, and the mix can easily freeze too hard. Don't expect artisan or commercial quality ice-cream from this machine, and you'll be happy with the results.
Ease of use
Noisy motor; bowl needs to be really well frozen (for at least 24 hours), and mixture needs to be cool enough to get best results.

Great little machine
Was given this machine as a Xmas gift, so have only had it for three weeks, but so far I am more than happy with it. It's really easy to use and clean, and the ice cream it has so far produced is really good. It tastes way better than the commercial stuff, plus you know that it's made from natural products with no artificial rubbish added. I also really like the fact that providing you keep the bowl in the freezer it only takes only 20-25 mins to make up a batch. The recipes in the enclosed booklet that I've tried so far all seem to work very well (the butter pecan was super yummy!); and my first experiment making passionfruit ice cream has also been a great success. We have a separate upright freezer, so keeping the bowl frozen between uses doesn't present a problem. However, if you are restricted to using the relatively small compartment at the top of a fridge-freezer, storage of the bowl in a ready to use condition could prove difficult. This is a fantastic ice cream maker, it works really well, has some really great and easy recipes included in the instruction booklet. These recipes make really delicious ice creams, sorbets & frozen yoghurts. I have made up some of my own creations myself loosely based on these recipes too and they have all worked out really well.

... Read morerly it makes ice cream that you could eat immediately if you don't mind it a little on the soft side. The bowl must be hand washed (definitely washes easily). All of the other parts (only 2 other pieces) can be placed in the dish washer, which makes it a breeze to use. I have been hand washing as they are hardly dirty any ways and rinse off really easily. I love the fact that the only control is an ON / OFF switch! Who needs another appliance with a very confusing control panel system??!! Overall would recommend this ice cream maker as it is very easy to use, easy to clean and produces seriously delicious ice cream!!! Easy to use, quick to produce softly frozen ice cream. The only Con is that you need to re-freeze the bowl in between using it... Can't make 2 lots of ice cream consecutively.

Great machine that is very easy to use. Makes is possible to make a variety of flavours that you can't buy in the supermarket or to replicate your favourite gelato flavour from the ice cream shops.
It is really easy to use, just put the bowl in the freezer to freeze (takes up to 48 hours), make up liquid ice cream mixture, put bowl/mixing arm/cover on base, pour in mixture and let it do it's thing for 25 min!

Questions & Answers
I am considering purchasing the machine & I wondered what is the standard recipe, as I am a diabetic, I wouldn't want too much sugar in the mixture. Can you help please ?
Most of the ice cream recipes call for 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of castor sugar, so they wouldn't be suitable for diabetics. However, I can't see any reason why you couldn't replace most or all of the sugar with whatever sort of artificial sweetener you normally use.
It is my Husbands birthday this week and I've considered using the Cuisinart icecream maker to make icecream for n icecream cake for him. I'm not sure how it will go ask I haven't used the appliance yet and was just wondering if the icecream would firm up enough in the freezer to be used as a cake?
The ice cream gets very firm in my freezer after an hour or two, so I would think it would work very well for your purpose.
What a good idea for an unusual birthday cake. Maybe I'll follow your example and make one for my son when his birthday come up in about two months time. If I'm feeling energetic a couple of layers in different flavours would make it look quite special.
