Better then Fox
Make sure you cancel your Foxtel and get Optus TV, cause you get more channels and its much more cheaper then Foxtel. For $15 a month for the new 4k Set top box with big hard drive. And paying a extra $15 more gives you the Ultimate TV channels. around 114 channels including free to air and all the optus channels, way cheaper then foxtels, $120 a month package that they give you crap channels, crap set top box which isn't even HD.
Will not activate
I got the box as a part of a new phone package. The box will not get to the part where you put in your activation code. It’s saying error in internet connection but the box says also that it’s all connected fine.
I rang Fetch who then wouldn’t do anything and told me to contact Optus. 3 days later and still nothing from Optus
Will not stop billing
I have cancelled my Optus home entertainment and phone service for over 3 months and Optus continues debuting my account. I have called them countless times and they reassure me that they have cancelled my accounts but as usual it's nothing but lies. Optus is a disgracefully company that is run by incompetent people. They don't seem to be able to do anything they say they do. I don't know what to do these people are incredible, they lie to me all the time, I have been on the phone to them for hours on hold and then they pass me around from on...e operator to another and then back to the same operator I started with, it a merry go round. What the he'll do I do, I am besides myself, I am going crazy. It's as if they are trying to upset me they are awful. It's driving me crazy. All I want is to cancel the services why is it so difficult. They have taken 3 months worth of fees equating to hundreds of dollars, for nothing my services were cancelled but they continue taking my money. Optus is an absolute disgrace. I am sure I am not the only one, there has to be many more like me. I don't want to ring them again it's worthless. I will have cancel my credit card just to stop these animals.
Moving house and can no longer use service
Have had fetch tv with optus for a couple of years now. And cannot fault it. The internet has been perfect and all the attributes of fetch tv have been marvellous. Never had an issue with their customer service. Good on ya guys! Too bad I'm moving to a house where the service is unavailable.
Extortion at best!
First fetch box restarted 3-4times a day. After numerous complaints and almost 12 months Optus replaced it for me.
Then came the continued loss of channels
First Disney and other children's tv and now numerous channels like UKTV and sci-fy channel. No replacements. Still the same charges. No discount offered, no price amendment. Truly theft, fraud, extortionate. Returning all Optus fetch products and will never use any such service from Optus again. Truly disgusted.
Worst service ever
When we moved houses we spoke to Optus about transferring our perfectly working fetch/ Optus internet connection (Non nbn) to our new home. We were told it would be very easy and would cost the same however we would need to move to nbn. Firstly the date they were supposed to come to do nbn they didn’t turn up, then when speaking to Optus they had no record of our conversation. So we had to reorder everything again, rendering us without fetch or internet for over a week. Next when the fetch box arrived we connected it and all our previous channe...ls were gone. Again we had to go online to speak with Optus and were told we would have to pay $6 extra for each package we had previously. That would add another $18 each month. Next, whenever we wanted to rent a movie on fetch it wouldnt work we would just get a weird code. No one at Optus could help us work out the issue, online for another 5hrs trying to reboot the system etc and nothing worked. Next they send us a new fetch box and all the same issues are still there. Internet outages at least 6 times a day, can’t rent movies on fetch, try to connect to Netflix through fetch box and get a weird purple screen, can’t rewind or fast forward recorded shows. Overall it’s useless. We used to have such a great service before and now it’s crap! There is no use getting online with them again because we have already invested around 20hrs trying to sort out our issues to no avail. Their customer service is based in India and whilst they are polite and try to help there are no technicians that can be sent out to fix the issues. They say they will ring back with answers but they never do. Also you have to ring at a certain time to get a fetch consultant due to the time differences. It’s really really dissapointing.
Great concept with low cost outlay but extremely poor delivery.
Quality of EPL cast is variable. Not once this season have I had good transmission. The last time I watched a 90 minute game it took 115 minutes due to pauses (buffering ?) and the picture quality lacked definition. I cast to my tv from my Ipad and if I knew where the problem was it would help. A rubbish product and Optus need to address their failings or withdraw the product from the market.
Hard to cancel a subscription
Tried to cancel the subscription and Optus really made it to hard. Any other subscription I had in the past from different companies you just go to Manage account and find an option to cancel your subscription. It is not the case for Optus Sport. So be mindful before subscribing as you might not easily cancel your subscription and end paying for something you dont want to use anymore
Terrible service from the beginning
I was sent an activation code and the box doesn’t acknowledge it as valid. When I requested help Optus only referred me to broadband/nbn or mobile. When I managed to get to fetch, the person at the call center did not find a subscription despite the fact I provided the client number.
Optus Fetch Mighty Gen 3 Works great.
Recently upgraded to Optus Mighty Gen 3 from Gen 2. Like the new 4K streaming of Netflix through this device. Easy set up once I had the activation code, and multi room function is great paired with my Fetch mini. No issues with free to air signals, and surround sound mode works great as well. Like the choice of additional Optus movies, and the Optus fetch channel packs have something for everyone.
Stay away from Optus
I asked for a relocation on the 9th of July. It's been more than 3 weeks since I placed the order and I've had multiple conversations with Optus (chat with transcript saved & phone calls). Still nothing... I cancelled the service this morning. 4 hours later, they can't confirm if it's been cancelled. I have been with Optus for many years but lately it's been shocking to the point that I'm moving all my services to another provider.
Fetch Channels changed while changes from Cable to NBN
I was on the $89 Cable plan with Optus and it includes Fetch Mighty and the Entertainment package (plus land line calls etc). However, when switched to the $90 NBN plan, I have to pay extra $9 for the Fetch Mighty and $15 for the Entertainment Package, totally $124 per month. No one at Optus customer services can explain WHY?
Refusing to let me cancel
I requested to have my fetch box internet service cancelled before my last payment was due. Turns out they didn’t cancel and when I contacted them back they put me on hold for 25 minutes in the hope I would give up and not cancel. Called back twice and ensured I was pressing the right options to cancellation team. A Sharna answers and says I’ve been put through to tech support and again has put me on hold for another 30 minutes. Worst service. Slow connection and waste of my money. You’re better off buying the fetch box from Good guys and paying for internet. Saving you thousands of dollars. I Will NEVER again make the mistake and sign up with Optus.
I have Optus TV with the NBN
There are a lot of new release programs usually on BBC First or Universal and I can record 3 free to air and three iptv channels all at once
The Fetch TV box comes with Netflix, Stan, YouTube and hayu apps installed with direct access to all of the catch up offering such as 7Plus, 9now, iview, SBS On Demand etc
Worst TV Ever & Customer service is bad
I had the opportunity to use FETCH which was provided by Optus and lets just say it was the worst service ever, the buffering that kept occurring and the picture dropping out.. Called them endless times to be told ohh it's your phone line.. "they installed the line".. I ended up in the end getting rid of it and just sticking with another service because this was just wasting my time.
Questions & Answers
hi,my fetch box was working fine until I got the nbn, now it will not work, ive had my fetch box for 6 years, it was fine on adsl, do I need to upgrade it for nbn to make it work. theres a permanent red light on the front now, thanks
We watch free to air channels through our TV. However, we switch to fetch when we want to watch The Italian channel. Can the fetch box stay ON? At the moment, as we are new to Fetch, we keep on switching on /off. Is there an easier way to view all channels without using 2 remotes and switching on /off each time we go from TV to Fetch and vice versa?
Hi, I use fetch to view everything including free to air, Netflix, Stan etc, but you must connect Aerial cable into fetch box first & tune in free to air channels. I have setup the Fetch remote (programmable) to be able to turn on/off our TV, adjust volume etc. Makes life easier if setup this way just the fetch remote to do all, read the help on the remote to setup
Existing two Fetch Set top boxes have been showing ‘box not activated’ for a week now. Numerous calls to OPTUS. Many dropped out. One tech said ‘migrating’ take a few days. Still no service and can’t talk to anyone. Hard to understand how they expect expect to keep customers.
