Abysmal customer service
I don't usually leave reviews, but Dell has become an exception. Have waited 10+ days and have yet to receive an order number. I realise Covid has slowed things down significantly, but increased transparency would be appreciated. This means customer service that's actually accessible, instead of being put on hold indefinitely, and having to go through lengthy processes with multiple staff. Please save your money and stay far, far away from Dell.

DELL'S SERVICE NON EXISTANT
I ordered an item online. Dell delivered the wrong item. It is impossible to get them to send the correct item. Keep on asking question after question, each question taking days to respond to. Now asking for a photo of the plain brown box it came in.

Very solid....
Wonderful all in one PC, delivery also pretty quick, service on the phone a bit tedious but still quite helpful, not sure why so many poor reviews on this company.

Abysmal Customer Service
Dell product is exceptional but customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Having bought one of there laptops through JB Hifi and was suitably impressed by both speed of delivery and overall computer performance of the system, I decided to order another for my wife direct from Dell what an horrendous mistake. I placed an order and was quoted $1299. Dell extracted $1399 from our credit card even though the product had not even been built. When I questioned the amount that was quoted I was advised they knew about it and would get back to me. Co...Read more
rresponding with Dell customer service is like trying to get a response from a comatose patient. I emailed an account manager and was basically ignored. After checking status of order I discovered they had listed it as changed or canceled it but still had taken our money. I rang customer service once again to enquire what was going on. I was promised another rep would contact me shortly that never happened. I logged onto my purchase order 24 hrs later and discovered order had been canceled outright and then checked the credit card and money had been returned. So after wasting practically a week with these, who can only be described as oxygen thieves no computer and not one notification. of order cancellation. I neglected add they are immensely dishonest. keep a very wide berth of Dell Online services.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Dell's customer care is terrible - never buy from this company
I order 2 desktop screens from Dell on 4 April, which were given a guarantee of being in stock and shipped within 24-48 hours. Fast forward over 3 weeks to 27 April and repeated attempts to find out where my order is (and being cut off by their online and phone services), I finally find out that my order was cancelled two days after I put it in and no one from their company thought I needed to know! Since then, I've been trying to find out why it was cancelled, why no one told me, and when they will reinstate it to send the products I ordered. ...Read more
They have taken no responsibility for the mess up, not apologised and the only solution they can offer is that I put in a new order which will be shipped within 40 DAYS! This is the worst customer care I have ever come across - never ever buy from them! If there was a way to give them zero stars, I would - it is just shocking how terrible this has been.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Painful customer service
I ordered a laptop online on 20 March 2020 from dell Australia website. It showed me 27th April as expected delivery date and hence I was expecting it to arrive by end of April 2020 because of CORONA epidemic. But the online dell site was showing no expected delivery date even in the last week of April. For the last few weeks it was only showing "Shipped - with local carrier". Now I tried to contact the dell customer care for at least 10, 20 times in one single day. Every time a girl takes my call, ask my order number then put me on hold for in...Read more

Worst service ever
I ordered a desktop for work three weeks ago, it was shipped two days after the order. I have been checking the order status and it has not been changed from "in transit to local hub" ever since. So I called the customer service for an update, a lady picked up the phone straight away and asked me for the order number, then she told me she will put me on hold while she is checking my order details. I was on hold for an hour and nobody picked up the phone. I guess they just don't care about anything after they take your money. This will be my first and last time using Dell product.

Paid for technician to fix broken screen, was told a technician would contact me in 4 days, months later nothing has happened, no refund, no service despite bringing it up with the Dept of Fair trading they have not refunded for the service they did not provide. Bought a new computer to replace the broken one and they sent me the wrong product.

Dell is good
In 2009,I bought a Dell studio 1745, the motherboard was fault, Dell technician came twice to fix it. I used the laptop to 2018 until I accedently broke the power button .Today, a technician came to fix my Dell inspiron 15 5570 screen. I think Dell is a good company.

Incompetent and dishonest
Ordered a laptop for a course I’m about to start. Delivery was 10-14 days. No problem, had a week leeway.
After the order was confirmed the delivery date was 31 days.
I immediately contacted Dell and asked them to cancel the order as was too late.
First they asked me to give them 24-48 hours to chase it up and see if it could be expedited.
5 days later, nothing so I went on hold to talk to someone. After 25 minutes, the call was picked up and then was hung up without a word being uttered. Another 25 minutes on hold and I finally talked to someone who said the order was cancelled and the refund would take up to 4 days.

Beware
Ordered Two screens mid March and paid on line. Dell Advertised in stock and 2-3 business days delivery. I therefore assumed stock in Australia. Given the current environment, was expecting a few days delay. Later that week received an email earliest delivery 5th May, so no, dell had to import stock obviously. I needed screens as I had to work from home. Contacted dell service desk, overseas call centre. Dell said would check and call back. Didn’t, had to call back following week. Dell then emailed confirming they would follow up. Didn’t. I Ema...Read more
iled back and told Dell I wished to cancel. They returned email and confirmed cancellation and refund would be given. Didn’t. I followed up by email. Dell confirmed would refund. Didn’t. Contacted PayPal and they rightly offered to raise a dispute. PayPal was very helpful. Went to raise the dispute when doorbell rang, this is four weeks after order. Screens turned up. Luckily my work were able to provide some monitors and luckily I had been looking but yet to buy direct from a store, otherwise would of ended up with two sets of screens. Dell obviously was taking orders when couldn’t deliver then stalled and lied about cancellation and refund and call centre didn’t have a clue what was happening. Absolutely woefull.Similar opinion? Absolutely terrible. Do yourself a favour...Shop elsewhere. I have spent the entire day on the phone.(11 calls plus 2 hangups) They just lie that they will ring back. That means they won't. They Advertise as Dell Aust. but goods take 4 to 6 weeks for a delivery. Everyone I spoke to was not an Aussie, not that that is an issue. I cannot understand how they advertise as Dell Australia.
I was trying to purchase a laptop for my granddaughter, which I was told would take 10 to 14 days for delivery. Later, in another conversation I was advised I...Read more

Terrible support
I purchased a lap top and associated relatively expensive mouse. All arrived quickly, but mouse wheel was slightly damaged - out of alignment so it didn't scroll properly. Advised Dell who quickly said they'd refund me for the mouse.
I had, however, asked for a replacement mouse not a refund. Despite many emails, they would not address the question of providing me with a replacement mouse. Response to my emails usually took days and kept saying the refund would come. Eventually the refund arrived in my account, but not once did they respond to my questions about a replacement.

Ordered a monitor 14 days ago, absolutely horrendous customer service: been telling us they will call us back 4 times now and not one call till now. A cheap way to deposit money and never get it back, better than a bank.

Inspiron laptops are poor build quality. Deplorable warranty cover for battery.
Bought a high end gaming laptop from Dell some years ago. Motherboard and battery began to have issues. Dell Australia only agreed to replace the motherboard because somehow they decided the battery has a separate 1 year warranty which I believe is against local consumer protection laws. Technician came over to replace the motherboard. This resulted from going from occasional keystroke/mouse pad blackouts, to a complete failure of the machine. Then the representative on the phone line tells me I have to pay for postage printing to have it sent ...Read more
for fixing at their facility after they broke my laptop during warranty cover. I found this audacious considering what was happening and wrote Dell a letter, stating I'm owed a full refund, given that this laptop is no longer performing to the specifications advertised. Dell agreed, which then began the final part of my headache with them, taking more than a month to do something as simple as issuing a refund. Hard to believe this is a multi-billion dollar company that cannot walk the basic competency. They're going on my blacklist with HP for selling sub-par overpriced products and sub-par services of ruining laptops with "refurbished" parts instead of new. I'll also be a node of word-of-mouth to friends and family, for my experience with them. It's a real shame because I was a huge fan of them, years ago. They were supposed to be better than companies like HP.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Quality maybe good but support team is not easy to work with.
I order the wrong product at 7pm on Sunday night. And send message probably 2 or 3 hours later the same night. I also called around 9:00 on Monday morning but it took around half an hour to get through. I understand the delay of the call in this situation. And the lady was quite nice and told me they got the message and the cancellation is in process. So I wait till the afternoon and saw my order status was updated to shipped. So I called again and this time it took a bit longer to get through. And a different lady picked up the call and told ...Read more
me the product was shipped. I told her what happened in the morning. She said I have to give her the name of support lady I called this morning. I didnt remember at all. So she said there is no log that I called. And when I ask why the status in the morning was not shipped she told me the product was transfered to warehouse on Sunday night already so my messgae and call were too late. So I ask if they work 24 hours 7 days and she said yes....I was so shocked at all her answers. I wont use Dell support as my personal laptop because I dont want to remember all supports team's name whenever I call. The quality may be good but if you are okay with the support call, you can still choose it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Two faulty laptops, and service is deplorable.
I had a new laptop last year, which needed a new motherboard within months. That was a nightmare, but it worked for a while. Turns out they fit a refurbished motherboard and now the graphics card is faulty. They sent a technician to replace the motherboard again but can't/won't tell me if it's a new motherboard or a refurbished one. The technician had no idea how to get around the microsoft bitlocker issue, which resigned me to not being able to access my laptop last year with the new motherboard. So here I sit wondering what to do.

service is all off-shore, and they are very 'pushback' and 'deflect'. I loved my first Dell laptop, and even though the replacement battery killed my 3 year old laptop, I foolishly got another because I decided at least I'd had 3 years out of it. Never again. The quality is just too unreliable, and I work from home as a contractor so am not able to be without my laptop as much as I seem to have to be, for these parts replacements.Similar opinion? website support for specific models.
It's fair enough that I can't get phone support for the 2 Dell laptops I have as they are both laptops that I have recovered from my employer. They were headed for the bin due to apparent faults which were false. Trying to find drivers on their website was impossible to the point where I had to open the laptop to physically identify the hardware in order to obtain drivers from a different website.

Today, for the second time, Dell "updated" my computer and caused me to lose an hour's work. I don't want your updates and I don't want to lose my work so you can "advise" me about Dell products. I paid for my computer. It's mine. I don't want you taking it over and losing the work which I value.
