MADE MY PUPPY VOMIT!
This food is terrible!! I got the julus puppy food just as a substitute for the night as the pet store was closed and my puppy was whining all night and pacing and I didn’t know what was wrong and he hasn’t vomited twice this morning, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!
Purchased in January 2021 for $11.00.
This product has gone DOWN hill recently
This was a great product until recently, this latest batch has a strong chemical smell to it.Rottweiler's eat anything and usually love this but now I have to go and grab something else. What's happening Aldi I swear by your products, but this is disgraceful, how do I get a sample of this really bad bag of dog food to you?

Julius Gold Adult
Look this is not the highest rated food for dogs out there, but it is OK. It's complete and balanced to AAFCO guidelines and is also formulated by a nutritionist as the bag claims. There is also different varieties for different life stages (e.g Puppy) These are the very basics you want to look for when choosing a dog food and this food does cover the basics. The ingredients are all natural, no colours or artifical preservatives, which ticks my boxes when looking for a food for my dogs. I have been feeding the Adult version for about 3 months n...ow, it's been okay as part of all of my dogs diets but it must be noted they do get supplemented with other things and this is not their sole diet. It keeps their poos firm which is great as one of my dogs has IBD and keeping poos firm is tricky. My toy poodle has a fast Metabolism and if I didn't supplement her while using this food, I think she would lose condition. My Cavalier lost weight on it but she needed to anyway and seems to be maintaining an ideal weight at the moment. I would recommend this food as a base for a dogs whole diet, not on its own. It's $7.49 for a small bag which is okay for a fortnight's worth of food for Small breed dogs, but I would think it's not terribly cost effective for someone with larger breeds of dog or many dogs. I would definetly not recommend the larger bags of Julius dog food that ALDI sells, the red beef and the blue chicken bags, that is way worse nutritionally then this one. Anyone that feeds their dog the bigger bags that I've seen, all have dull coats and scratching, and weight loss. I've asked what they feed their dog and the answer has always been 'Aldi big bags'.
This a absolutely the worst dog food you can buy
My dog won't eat this. Even my daughter's labrador, who will eat anything, refuses to eat it. Don't waste your money. It is absolutely rubbish whatever is in it. I will never buy it again.
Never feed my dog this again
I brought this for my fur baby to try and fill her up as she was a little over weight she was getting this for about 6 weeks took her to the vet to be eeighed and was shocked she put on 2kg, so ibstead of her losing 1kg she has to now lose 3kg

Aldi - Julius Meaty Bites
I purchased Julius Meaty Bites from Aldi last night and came home and fed my dog, I wasn't sure that he'd like them. He scoffed them all down quite quickly.
When I got up this morning his water bowl (that was full when I fed him) was bone dry! He has never drunk so much water in such a short period of time & seems a bit under the weather this morning too.
So I checked the label and they contain '1.5% crude salt'. The package claims them to have 'no artificial colours or flavours' & 'nutrionally complete and balanced'. I don't believe they are nutrionally complete or balanced, in fact they are quite the opposite and therefore unhealthy for our canines.
I don't think they should even be allowed to sell them.
Dog won't eat it
Poppy is part Labrador. She has a voracious appetite. She will eat gravel if it looks like kibble. She can and does swallow her entire bowl of most brands of dog food in one gulp. She would if permitted eat her entire body weight in most dog food, and then want more. But she won't eat this. Not even with gravy.
Should have listened. Dog vomited twice.
My autoship of a good brand food didn't deliver on time (that's a whole other story) so for convenience I grabbed a bag of dog food from ALDI when doing my regular shop. Most ALDI stuff is great, but I had read the reviews on the dog food and was uncertain.
At first it was fine, no noticeable ill health effects, we even just had his annual check up and the vet said it was fine. We're just at the end of the bag today, and not last night but the night before our poor boy threw up twice. We've had him for over 2 years (he's 4) and he's never thrown up before.
Glad to see the end of the bag. Won't be buying ALDI dog food again.
And their marketing team is worried about a couple of mouldy strawberries?
Purchased in July 2021.
Best value for money, better than all Americans overpriced and over advertised products.
My german shepard loves all aldi dog foods, the vet and everyone says how healthy he is, I give him aldi food and optimum, aldi food is great value for money and he loves the julius canned dog food.
Purchased in February 2021.
My dogs (2 Jack Russells) are not fussy and eat anything, they ate this without even thinking about it lol. The quality of this looks very dry and is unpleasant in colour, and the smell actually resembles horse manure. My dogs have now been dining on this food for a week or so, they are doing terribly smelly farts and my male dog Charlie has started panting excessively today. I will be changing back to coles grain free dry products as they have not been causing any issues, i just thought I'd try to get all of the shopping done at one store. Ah well.
Aldi Cost Cutting at the Expense of Your Best Mate
Aldi has just relaunched its dog food range saying Delious new Recipe but when compared to the old recipe crude protein, crude fat, crude fibre and energy are down percentage wise so our best mate will be eating inferior nutrients now but still at the same price. Bigger profit margins over .....our beloved Rover
Great dog food for dog on a diet
The vet said my dog was obese, and despite trying all the different brand of 'lite' dry food, she was not getting any lighter. Then we saw Julius KANGAROO meat canned food. We started her on it and omg, she lost 7 kg in 9 months! The vet checked her again and she was doing great! The kangaroo meat was super lean.. high in iron and protein, and NOT oily at all! She seems to love it and we stuck to that since. If your dog is on a diet.. try this!
I cannot believe that after the deaths of 40 service dogs in Victoria & numerous deaths in the private sector which led to the withdrawal of Advantage dog food that super markets & pet barns are still promoting dry kibble in which wheat & other grains are the main ingredient.
Observe the conversion of a serve of these products to the amount of faeces they must dispose of will set the alarm bells ringing. Dogs cannot digest or even swallow these grains without difficulty & eventually will cause irreversable health problems. The AVA & manufacturer of the offending product immediatley went into denial but eventually conceded responsibility.
"ALWAYS CHECK IS THIS PRODUCT IM BUYING GRAIN FREE!!"
Makes My Dog Sick
Thought I would try the Aldi Julius dry dog food because it was cheaper than the normal dry dog food I was using. When served the same amount of Julius as the other dog food I found that he wasn't eating it all and was leaving most of it behind. He was also barfing it up on a daily basis and there was this horrible liquidy chunder on the floor. Normally if he has a barf he eats it up again, but not after eating the Julius which he leaves for me to clean it up - Yuk! Because I bought a whole bag of it, rather than waste it and throw it out, I tr...ied mixing a bit of it with his regular dog food and try using it up that way. But what he did was eat only the regular dog food and left the Julius behind. You can tell that it was Julius left behind by the shape and colour of the pellets. So whatever crap they put in the Julius dry dog food, it makes my dog sick and he won't eat it.
