Rusty I will say it would be best to check the panel of contents then you would be able to tell if there is any level of something you shouldn't have eg potassium.y try. You could replace just one meal a day .the weight still will come off but take longer maybe.hope that helps you rusty.lyn

Hello. I have found out in recent days PharmaCare (N.S.W ring 02-99971466) have discontinued manufacturing this product. Someone I spoke to at this company said they had too many people saying that they did not like it because it was too gritty. It's unfortunate as I found this product quite effective and had rapid success with it. I was able to maintain the weight loss by taking one sachet a day plus 2 other normal meals. I used to blend it in cold water/ice and found with time, I got use to the texture. I particularly found the pea protein sat easier in my stomach then the other dairy/whey based products. It will be difficult finding a substitute product in sachet form. Hopefully, Pharmacare might bring back the product if enough people contact them. If someone knows of a similar product they've tried please do drop a comment.

Can I use water instead of milk? I tend to bloat when drinking milk.

Heya,

Yes you can, it tasted bad but most importantly you are only taking in 80 something calories instead of about 200 calories.. i did that before and tends to find that it is not 'full' enough.. and discovered a week later it is because i'm not mixing with milk..
try different type.. eg i moved from Skim no-lactose to Almond sweeten/unsweetn milk now and find it is better for me.

I use to have my protein powder with soy milk but discovered rice milk to be much lighter, healthier and it taste delicious even on its own.

Can I substitute almond milk for skim? Don't like milk

1 answer

Poy TB

can't see why not.
VLCD is all about taking a very low carolie intake.. you just gotta check the nutrition info..
>> So Good Almond for 250ml = 75 cal (but 9 gram sugar (2 teaspoons of sugar))
so combination of Almond milk + Slimright is about 200 Cal per serving.. x 2 = 400 cal..
then through out the day, you eat something light that made up of 400 cal .. therefore 400 cal from slimright/almond-milk + normal meal = 800.. you're in a win.

hope that make sense.

Just wondering if the slim shake will still work if I add the powered into a smoothie which includes strawberries, ice cubes and a small tea spoon of light yoghurt. This would also replace 2 meals a day?

1 answer

I'm not a rep or associate with them but here's my answer from my own research and been taking it for a while now.
This product is suppose to replace your 'meal'.. which means it has already the ingredients and other nutrients required for those meals you want to replace.

I actually went on the VLCD + Water for a while and found that it wasn't enough, still hungry most of the time even drinking more water.. so i go back and what they recommended which was "+ skim milk". So if I went and brought Liddle Lactose Free Skim Milk and turned out that my hunger was a lot less + i get more protein anyhow.

So to answer your question, i wouldn't add those in as you're adding more "calories" which is defeating the purpose of "VLCD = Very Low Calories Diet" program.
I say, put it up with just the VLCD + Skim Mlik for a month (2 weeks minimum), see if you get the result, if not, then do whatever you want :)

Hi, I'm really interested and anti of tarts na the shakes twice a day just to get me motivated and help me out as I always get hungry and pick at things constantly! I'm not a big girl but i can feel in myself im unhealthy! Would the shakes be okay for me to encourage to stop eating junk, and if I stopped them would I put on more weight quicker than usual?

1 answer

I'm not a nutritionist but VLCD products do have a good nutrition in them. Just be careful as some of them has buck loads of sugar like Optifast and such.

Dont forget shake is just powder with water so you may still be hungry an hour or two after. Hence They recommend to drink more water plus a 'controlled' snacks. It is of course better than eating junk food.

A friend of mine said to me.. "You are either in a good shape or you are not. Pick one and go for what you born to be.".. For me it's not 6 packs. I just want to be in a good shape and nice chest, normal legs.. That's what I'm going for and willing to drink two shakes a day for x amount of time to get there.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of the gritty texture? I have just started and want to keep going but the gritty texture if far to much. I even tried to blend it but that didn't work either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I have the chocolate flavour.

Hi Kel,
I only take the vanilla so I have never tried chocolate maybe it's more grittier?. The vanilla is gritty too due to the seeds, but if I mix it with skim milk instead of water and use a spring ball in a shaker( way better to mix the shake with ), it can decrease the grittiness and makes it easier to drink. Spring ball shakers are sold at protein or health shops. I hope this info helps!

Hi there. I have used a Tupperware hand shaker and never had any problems with it. May I suggest putting a little extra water in?
Hope that helps, Meagan
