Actually tastes pretty good! (Chocolate)
I am trying optifast VLCD to make sure Im getting enough protein and nutrients while losing weight. Tried a few flavours but Choclate, Mocha and Chai are the best. Best way to drink it is with crushed ice in a blender. I cant say how many kg its helped me lose as I have also been taking duromine but it keeps me full and an easy meal swop for 1 or 2 meals a day.

Delicious flavour!
This is my favourite flavour. I have it every morning with ice. I mix it in my blender so it tastes just like a frappe without all the calories. I don't strictly follow the program but I do like to have this every morning for breakfast.

Life Changing
I'm so glad that I started the Optifast program 10weeks ago. I honestly didnt think I would stick to it as I usually struggle to stick to something for more than 2 weeks. Im doing the intensive phase and have lost 15kg so far, 10kg more to go! I recommend this for people who struggle with a food addiction. It takes out all the guess work and temptation and I feel as though it has reset my obsession with food. Im confident that following the program I will continue to lose weight and have a healthier relationship with food and will keep the weig...Read more
ht off. I really like the chocolate shake blitzed with cold water and ice. Also enjoy the banana and strawberry. I LOVE the chocolate bars, they remind me of a space food stick. I like that I can have dinner (stir fry, salad, roast veges, vegebased spag boll with Konjac noodles) with my family and once the kids are in bed, enjoy a hot drink and my bar. It fills me up and is yummy and I dont ever feel like snacking of an evening anymore as Im satisfied (and snacking at night was so bad for me!) Anyway, I highly recommend. Much nicer than other meal replacement shakes Ive tried and are very nutritious! 5 stars... Goodluck with your journey!!Purchased in October 2021 at Amcal.

Chocolate bars new recipe, not nice.
I've been eating these for over 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed them, but the new recipe is just not nice. Please change it back. I used to recommend these to friends but not anymore.

Great Weight Loss.
I have tried other flavors, soups as ne desserts but I keep coming back to chocolate. I buy it in the 18 sachet box. I find that if I put my water in the freezer 20 minutes before I use it, then it seems to make the shake fluffier and more filling. This has worked wonders with my weight. I have lost 40kgs so far and looking forward to less of me. Thank you Optifast.

A delicious shake, much better than any competitors
I am 61 years old and have been on Optifast for almost 11 months now. I've tried a multitude of diets, even surgery, and various weight loss products/shakes, and Optifast is the only product/program that I've been able to stick to. Being morbidly obese and having had a health scare 12 months ago it was either lose weight or end up in a pine box. I am doing the intensive program which is 3 Optifast products a day. Usually I have 2 shakes and a bar, although sometimes I have the Optifast lemon creme dessert as a change from the Optifast chocolat...Read more
e bar. I've tried all the flavours of shakes other than vanilla or chai. My favourite shakes are coffee and mocha. If you had told me 11 months ago that I would actually look forward to having a shake twice a day I would have laughed at you, but it's true. My coffee shake in the morning replaces my morning cuppa. The trick is using cold water out of the fridge, and adding ice cubes and blitzing in a blender. I also add a teaspoon of Nescafe Blend 43 coffee granules for a bit more of a coffee kick. (I do the same for my mocha shake as well.) My preference for the Optifast bars are chocolate followed by the cappuccino flavours. Sadly they have changed the recipe and the chocolate bars are not as nice and chewy as they used to be. I keep mine in the fridge prior to eating. Optifast definitely works. Having tried other brands of diet shakes, eg Tony Ferguson, Aldi, Optislim, none of them are as good as Optifast. Yes it is more costly but the nutritional content is superior to the others, and the support available from the Optifast team via the website is excellent.Purchased in November 2021 for $37.00.

Big mistake buying this!
Last thing I wanted to be eating is so much sugar and artificial sugar in this product. Never expected it to be in the product. Partly my mistake by not checking the contents. We know sugar is BAAAAD for us yet they put excess in this product . Tastes horrible sweet. Suggest Atkins shakes... much better!!! Bought two boxes and now throwing them in the bin

My favourite Optifast shake, next to mocha.
I love the taste of the Optifast coffee shake, in fact I look forward to it every morning, the same way I used to look forward to my morning cuppa. I definitely don't find it too sweet. I make it up using 200mls ice cold water plus I throw in about 8 ice cubes, and a teaspoon of Nescafe coffee granules and blitz in a blender. Comes out frothy, creamy and delicious.
I just wish that it was available in a box of 18, like the vanilla and chocolate shakes.
Optifast definitely works, I have lost over 75kg in just under 11 months.

Smaller girl and still Very happy!!
I’m 26 and not a big girl, my weight fluctuates from 69-75 kgs, however my body fat is over 40%, and I have 15kg of fat to loose as my BMI is high and my vital organs are holding fat. I started the shakes 2 weeks ago recommended by a doctor and nutritionist to help curb my cravings and get nutrients I was lacking from my very bad diet. I thought I would struggle but I’m loving it, I do 2 shakes a day and then one meal however I actually find I crave the shakes now and I don’t have any cravings at all, I also do intense training 3 times a week...Read more
and I feel amazing. I’ve lost maybe 2kg so far, but I feel great. My mum also is doing this and she feels the same . Over all very happy. I am feel a lot less bloated and sick and I do find that I’m not that hungry at all. Chocolate is a great flavour, I put less water so it’s like a chocolate milkshake. I have tried vanilla as well which was decent, don’t get the soups though they are gross . :( when you buy the 18 pack on sale for $47 at chemist warehouse it works out to $3 a meal which is very cost affective ! I hope someone else can read this review and see some positives to them if they are skeptical.Purchased in August 2021 at Chemist Warehouse for $47.99.

Optifast Chocolate Bars - NEW RECIPE, more carbs.
I've been using Optifast bars since March 2022 (six months), as part of a medically supervised VLCD with great results (25kg lost). I am disappointed in the recent change in recipe by Optifast to their Chocolate bars. The texture is slightly firmer than the lovely fudge-like bar it used to be and it doesn't taste as sweet as it used to, but more importantly, the carbohydrates have increased from 17.8g to 23.4g per 70g bar. That's 31% more carbs than they used to have. I'm hoping this doesn't effect the results I've been getting, but I will have to monitor the effect closely and look for an alternative - 5.6g is a lot when you are on a strict low-carb intake.

Love it!
I've been using these for a few months now and have lost 2 dress sizes with only replacing one meal a day and eating quite normally for the rest. I've tried all the flavours and they're all really good, but the caramel is my favorite. Some have a slightly bitter aftertaste, but compared with other brands it's really not a big deal. They mix well and have a creamy smooth texture. Sometimes I blend a banana through for variety and it's just like a smoothie. I have not been starving which means that it's realistic for me long term. Will definitely continue with the program.

New recipe chocolate bar
I used to love the chocolate bar but the new recipe is horrible. Pity because the originals were a great meal replacement. On par with the soup. Won't be buying these again.

Tasty and sustainable weight loss program
I have been using the products for 5 days, I'm a busy mum also working but have not experienced the fatigue or hunger I was dreading. I alternate coffee and chocolate shakes, add lots of ice and blend with instant coffee.I have actually been eating more veggies on this program than I normally would. Also feel the weight falling off. I know this is sustainable for me. Check out the opticook website for recipe ideas - there is a lot you can have with the allowed veggies.

Tastes horrible
I’ve tried the chicken soup and the variety bars
The chicken soup tastes like uncooked flour and is absolutely horrible I’ve followed the instructions to the tee and even tried to boil it to get rid of the uncooked flour taste which was against the recommendation but it’s just a dreadful taste either way
The bars are so sweet and stodgy I cant believe they are a weight loss food Im not a sweet tooth person so I don’t like them

The best I have tried so far
Only thing is its expensive.
Best flavors chocolate and banana. Worst Coffee.

Mixes well. Doesn't need milk which is convenient.

Major results; decent flavors
Because this is about weightloss, I think some generic background info is necessary. I'm a 29 year old, 151cm tall female with an underactive thyroid who struggles to lose weight even when exercising regularly and eating healthy and small portions. My starting weight on 25-march-2019 was 109.6kg, and my goal weight is 60kg. I am NOT currently exercising.
In week one I have lost 3.4 kg on the intensive program, which is truly unheard of for me. I was hoping for at least 1kg and my expectations were surpassed.
I have tried the vanilla and chai...Read more
shakes, the chicken and vegetables soups, and the cereal bar. I like all of them, but my favorites are the vanilla shake and the vegetable soup. The chicken soup is passable for me, but I agree it has a strange after flavor that could be difficult for some to get used to. It's like lemon myrtle or something. It doesn't quite go. But luckily the vegetable soup is actually amazing. I don't eat chocolate or drink coffee, so it's doubtful I'll ever try the other flavors. I found a great method is blending ice into the shake to make it a treat and boiling my 2 cups of veggies and putting them in the soup. It's really easy to stick to because you don't have to prep and cook, and it's easy to get into a groove. I experienced hunger on the 3rd and 4th day mainly, but the other days were manageable. And it is getting easier and easier. I have test strips to check, and I am definitely in ketosis. I would 100% recommend this to you if you want a large burst of weight loss without much heavy planning and exercise. I will update on week 4, week 8, week 12 etc until I've lost most of my weight. I think it's really important to have as much information as possible about how this product works in the later stages as well.Purchased in March 2021 at Chemist Warehouse.

What can I eat with optifast at night or I drink just optifast shake?
1 answer
Personally I eat veges/salad for lunch and dinner. I have dinner at 5:30 and it’s normally things like stir fry, roasted veges, mushroom “meat” spag bol using Konjac noodles. Then I have an optifast bar at about 7:30pm as a treat in the night with a cuppa while relaxing. Stops me from wanting to binge/craving food! Hope that helps. Remember it’s MINIMUM 2 cups of salad/veges! And you can use spices and oyster sauce, soy sauce etc!
