Diamantina trio
This tent is great!
After much googling for a tent that has great wind resistance I decided on the Diamantina escape trio.
We come to Robe each year and it can get extremely windy. The tent is easy to erect with 2 and for a dome tent it is spacious and plenty of room for all that needs to go in. We set the tent up with one room for sleeping . It fits a double and a single blow up mattress with room to walk in between. Each room is the same a size. The middle room has fridge and clothing etc with the last room for chairs tables and things tha...Read more

Perfect Dome Tent
Last year we did a 3 week trip to Central Australia in a our VW Golf and a borrowed tent to find out how everyone else was travelling and what we thought would suit us best. We decided tenting suited us fine but we needed a bigger car and 2 room dome with sealed floors in both rooms. After a bit of research on internet and in camping stores we thought the Diamantina Escape Duo looked like it would suit but had to wait for the Melbourne Caravan and Camping show in March to get a look at one. (We actually bought 2, as our daughter and her husband...Read more
were also in the market.) We left Geelong 2 months ago heading across the Nullabor, up to Kalgoorlie, then back down to Esperance, around the coast as far as Exmouth, then East to Tom Price and Karajini NP, up to Port Hedland and now we are in Broome. In a couple of days we are on the move again heading for Darwin, then turn South for home and winter. The tent has been great. We have had some pretty awful weather, with lots of rain and a bit of wind and the tent has remained perfectly dry and doesn't move in the wind at all. We are very confident in it's performance. It doesn't matter what the site is like once inside the tent we are at home. There's even room for the bikes. The tent is very easy to erect and the colour coordinated poles and sleeves is a great idea. It usually takes us about 45 min (at holiday pace) to set up camp once we arrive. We have had to pack it up wet often, but it is usually dry within a few minutes of putting it up again. We put it on a shadecloth type mat which protects the floor (some sites are just gravel) and keeps the tent clean for pack up. We also have a smaller mat for the entrance to stop tracking grit into the tent. There are plenty of options to maximise airflow if its hot. We have bought some poles to prop the fly out at the entrance, which has worked well. We often use a side door as it gives us a bit more room in the front if we have brought the fridge in. Have also made some bungee loops to hold the fly out front and rear to improve airflow without rolling the fly up.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
