Liquid sandpaper, impossible to clean and all over our outdoor balustrades
I'm giving this 'industrial coating' 2 stars. Dulux lose 3 stars for not spelling it out loud and clear just how much of a rough, ugly sandpaper coating this is. Seriously you can't clean it! It shreds a cleaning sponge and it will take your skin off no problem. It's impossible to get a good result with a brush/roller - it ends up patchy because the MIO particles keep sinking to the bottom of the can. You have to stir it between every dip. Over time it only gets increasingly blotchy and dirty looking. This paint is an eyesore and a giant pain!

But that's the thing. It's NOT a paint. It's an industrial coating! It's supposed to be sprayed on by a specialist applicator. Someone who routinely sprays the side of ship hulls! Look closely and you are kinda warned about brush marks (don't underestimate how bad these are!). This stuff is designed for things like bridges, oil rigs and structural steel. It's not designed for situations where humans are coming in contact with the MIO coated 'emery paper' surface and not where a decorate surface is required. If you use it in a situation where people have contact (outdoor furniture, handrails, balustrade), anywhere there's skin making contact, or you want an attractive, decorative finish, then you've GOT to buy and apply a further smooth, semi-gloss top coat to finish. AH! That transforms things. Then your corrosion resistant layer is beneath a layer that provides a smooth surface that can be cleaned, leaves your skin put and looks attractive (if you put extra hard yard into applying it well). But how's about Dulux spelling some of this out in no uncertain terms to consumers and retailers? I mean don't be wishy washy about it because those selling it don't seem to know either - Inspiration Paints sells this stuff like candy! This is one time you definitely need big clear warnings yet Dulux' most informative brochure on their MIO Coatings is disconcertingly brief and vague about what really goes down with this MIO coating. “MIO COATINGS WHAT ARE THEY?” https://www.duluxprotectivecoatings.com.au/media/1464/521_mio_coatings-what_are_they.pdf Just be aware so you too don't experience that feeling that you want to sell up and leave, and find yourself facing unanticipated major costs and work to eliminate that feeling.

Don't use
This is the worst paint I've ever used. It can't be brushed or rolled,if you spray it you will have to get your spray rebuilt . Bloody architects! It drys patchy and leaves lap marks. Ferrador 810 looks the same it's single pack and slightly better to apply . Boo dulux rubbish.
Expensive . Hard to use
