Why is Metal Shield paint called epoxy ?, is there hardener in the mix, I always thought epoxy paints were a 2 pak system.
The difference would be the amount of epoxy in the paint for single stage epoxy vs two stage paint systems. But Dulux would be the best to confirm this point as their products might differ to others....

Hi,
I have been applying Metalshield to my powdered coated door frames that are about 16yrs old. Some of the powder coating has come off so I have craped and sanded the back extensively. I originally applied Metalshield Etch Primer to the bare metal areas and then your Weathersheild semi gloss as advised by one of your shops. The finish was very dull so I went back to them and they recommended I use the Metalshield gloss. I have done this using both a brush and roller trying to get a smooth finish with out any luck. Do you know how I can get a better finish to the final coat.
Regards
Brett

Id suggest the multipurpose spray...

i have used the Spray pack (obtained from bunnings) Dulux Metalshield Epoxy etch primer and top coated with Dulux epoxy both Saturn and gloss,
the first part of my bare metal (steel) project was painted about 4 weeks ago and the second part prepared and painted this week but both have resulted in the topcoat staying soft and very easily scratches with my finger nail .
about a weeks work has gone in to the preparation before painting and ambient temperature was about 20 degs during the actual painting process .
I choose this paint due to a couple of factors
1/ Dulux brand.
2/ epoxy enamel.
3/ Excellent durability ?
4/ industrial strength .

I purchased 2 x 4 litres of metal shield in February 2022 for use on pool fence and house gutters. Two years later the paint has discolored and become chalky. Have contacted Help & Advice Team and was advised that this is expected after two years. I was also told I have used the correct product? Has anyone experience this situation using Dulux metalshield ? I am wondering if the marketing for Dulux paint exceeded the quality of their paints?
Paints are like Petrols. They are all basically made up from the same stuff. And yes, some spend millions on advertising, others prefer to let their product do the talking.
