Budget but not ideal
Pros:
-budget price for my tyre type 225/75r18
-soft riding
Cons:
-lack of grip, especially in wet. Tyres spin on start-up in wet very easily. and cannot feel any confidence in cornering
-fuel consumption. I can feel a bit higher fuel consumption than previous perfect hankook ventus v12 evo2
-tyre wear. faster than average I can feel.
Purchased at Tempe Tyres for $160.

I like the tires about to buy another set.
I bought a 2006 Pontiac GTO SAP 6-speed that has these tires on it. I was surprised at the traction I got. The car would spin some, but catch quickly. When you have a very stout and modified car, you have to learn how to control your car with Street tires on, mine is no different. These tires handle the power and drive great. As with any tire there is some road noise but not intrusive and the tires handle bumps with some firmness. Handling is predictable and ride is comfortable and firm.
I look forward to buying another set and will do so soon!

Worst tyres I’ve ever had
These tyres I 100% would not recomend.
Ever since I got them on 6 months ago the car has been a nightmare to drive.
-sliding outwards on round abouts and tight turns
-wanting to pull me off the road on any patch of uneven grading
-feels like I’m driving on tram tracks
-worse in the dry than in the wet
I’ve always gone for performance tyres but due to money restraints and on the recommendation of the manufacture I put on these nonsense tyres.
6 months and 30000kms later I am rid of the things and will never go back to Dunlop for tyres.

Ok
I guess you get what you pay for.
I didn’t know much about tyres when I bought these and purchased because of the tread pattern. Also they were cheap. They were ok at first but after 6months to a year of use I had to learn to accelerate at light gently because the tyres wouldn’t grip and completely spin out on dry road when the tyres were warm. I wouldn’t dare test these tyres to the limit!
So in trying to save money I ended up replacing them after 12months

Find out how Dunlop Direzza DZ101 compares to other Passenger Tyres
Know better, choose better.
Dangerous!
These are the worst tyres ive ever driven on, I drive a BMW 540 touring and the car just wants to swap ends even at low speeds on roundabouts etc, the traction control has never worked so hard, turn the traction control off and it just wheel spins everywhere in the slightest of damp conditions, its like driving on ice, ive done 1,000 miles hoping they would get better but no. Dunlop is supposed to be a well regarded brand name, in my opinion these should not be allowed to be sold to people who use their cars on the road

Cheap But Really Noisy On Road
These are the DZ 102s not the DZ101s, I think these are the latest version. Like the tread pattern as it is similar to Bridgestone Potenzas. Shape looks better too as it makes rims protude more outside of tyre giving a slick look without the bulge. Just put a set of 4 x 245 40 R19s on an SS-V Commodore. I was looking for a harder wearing tyre than the OE Bridgestone Potenzas because I couldn't handle the $500 to $600 price tag any more. What peeved me most about the Bridgestones is that any puncture usually required a complete tyre replacement ...
Read moreso I never got the full wear from them. Bridgestone Potenzas seem to attract nails into the side walls and just off the tread area. I have to say the Dunlop Direzzas are handling OK but what I really noticed was the road noise I had not experienced with the Bridgestones. I feel like I have a 4wd with the wrrr, wrrr coming from the road. Even rotated them thinking I might have a dodgy balance on one of them, front to back, etc. but the noise is still there. Also decided to drop pressures from 36 to 32 to give a bit more grip. I totally dispute Dunlop website saying low road noise. Paid $226 ea. Bridgestones were $500 ea to replace what I had. I am not paying $2000 for tyres. If they last much longer than the Bridgestones I will be happy for the price but the noise with all the windows up is pretty surprising. $900 fitted and balanced. Will just have to turn the radio up.- CarCommodore SS-V V8 270 kW Auto

Dreadfull!- no grip in wet, some grip in dry.
This is for DZ102s, but really are same tyres. Was unaware tyres of this standard could be sold in Australia. Still on sale so someone must have survived after installing them to their car! These are lethal! Trying to be serious here, but these were disgusting tyres - would not let my wife drive the car with these installed - it was so dangerous. Good to use on a drift car. Others here call these noisey - but from my experience of other, much more performance oriented tyres, I found these quiet even when grip had released completely (which was ...
Read moremost of the time) and car was sliding.........across road. Tyres last well, but this is only good thing. OK in dry I suppose but in wet - look out! Throbbed in dry and could break front wheels away under moderate braking - lucky ABS worked well (maybe I have some driving skills) or I would have had real problems. Installed to VY Commodore V8 - was atrracted by the get 4th tyre free, but wished I had kept to the Bridgestone RE002s I had before these. Bridgestones lasted 45000km with careful alignment, rotation and attention to pressures. Still gripped well at end of life. RE003s I had on another car were great tyres too. But the Dunlops - (expletive) bad! Sold the car with no noticeable tyre wear which explains the lack of grip - wrong compound for Australia. Should have paid the extra. Avoid!- CarVY Commodore V8
Revisiting my review, since these tyres remain in my mind due to their characteristics and my foolishness getting talked into these items. Not suitable for any car that is not extremely low powered. I...
Read more clearly recall my many frights when driving on these tyres and the times I nearly took out pedestrians. Pleased to see there are so few reviews. I hope that means very few people have bought these and experienced the "thrilling driving experience" of next to zero grip. As I wrote before, I believe the compound is incorrect for Australia. May suit drivers wishing to drift but really they should be using cheaper tyres than these for that activity. They may also suit very low powered front wheel drive cars but again why not just buy cheaper tyres for the same capability as these supposed performance tyres?Related Articles

Bad
Great tyres for the deaf.
Unfortunately all the good points of these tyres are let down by excessive road noise.
Excellent handling in wet & dry conditions, very surefooted & appear to wear well.
NOISE !
Noisiest tyres I've ever driven on. Except for some 4WD Tyres.
Had to turn the CD player way up to drown them out.
