We own a VW 2ltr Jetta 155kw and a VW Polo GTI 147kw. Both cars are Front Wheel Drive ... Both had Bridgestone s005 and Turanza 002 respectively on them as original OEM tyres..I've replaced the Jetta tyres first with Pilot Sport 4 and just thought WOW, what a difference. Used to get wheel spin in the wet in the Jetta, granted the original tyre had wear, but even hard acceleration in the dry I got wheel spin/axle tramp. PS4 eliminated all of that and even got faster take off with superior grip. Just put the PS4 on the Polo GTI.. WOW .. At 200...Read more
0km at did my first "Launch Control" on the Brigdestone Turanza and all I got was wheel spin. Michelin PS4 after 200km and I got the grip I want, hardly any wheel spin. Granted at "Launch Control" you are taking off at 3000 rpm and full boost and putting a fair amount of torgue on your tyres. Put the PS4 on your car and you won't regret it, Value for MoneyPurchased in January 2021 at JAX Tyres.

Very good but not great
My previous set was P7 runflat. I found this new set of PS4 to be very good. However, my previous gas mileage was 9.2L/100km. Now down to 8.6L/100km. Not really great given it is non-runflat, which should save much more petrol. I expect 8.2L/100km. The tyres are quiet but running on brand new perfect road at Domain Park Melbourne I can hear tyre noises. Performance when cornering is not great, only 8/10 compared to my last set. It doesn't hug the corner as much anymore. And the car loses momentum after it turns the corner, different from previously. Overall 8.5/10

I have only had these Michelins Pilot Sport 4 on my car for 1000 Kms and if you read my review on the same car with Toyo Proxes T1 Sports which I rated 8/10 in the dry & 9/10 in the wet these babies are very nice in the dry.It hasn't rained in Umina beach since I've had em on but can't wait to give em a workout.

Fantastic tyres dont over inflate
Michelin piolet sport 4 made in China yes China great tyre road feel and grip are great but not a full sports tyre there a fantastic everyday tyre and probably the best at that over infatuation cause ballooning effect I found 34 front 32 back for my ZB Calais perfect seems to keep them quiet and nice to drive any harder and things get disappointing loud and all over the road

What a Difference
Just put these Pilot Sport 4s on my big, heavy, front wheel drive Aurion Presara.
What a difference.
The previous tryes were a more basic comfort type and I was never impressed with the handling. The Presara is not know for good handling - but putting on the Pilots has made an incredible difference.
This big car now sticks to the road like glue. Cornering at high speeds was previously a bit of a nightmare. Now it is great fun as the car is as stable as a rock and eats up the bends without any trouble. (I do a lot of highway driving for work and...Read more

Great grip
Pros: Outstanding wet and dry traction and grip; fairly quiet for a high performance tyre; great straigh-line stability.. Cons: Steering is a bit too light, albeit sharp; Noisier than touring tyres.

Pilot Super Soft Versus 4S
Originally, I replaced my PSS with a set of Bridgy S001's. They were a complete dog, and tram-lined like the proverbial from day one. Couldn't wait to wear them out. I went back to Mitcheys, and stumped up for a set of 4S. What a transformation. Grip is relentless and confidence inspiring. Haven't had rain for a year, hence no feedback on that. Purchased from Tyresales. June 2018. Brilliant service, hence a repeat customer. Only negative is that the rears are down to the wear marks after only 8,500klm,(No Track Work!) while the fronts are i...Read more
n good nick. That might simply be the fact that the AUDI TTRS torque distribution is reacting to my right foot accordingly. Have bought two new replacements for the rear. Definitely would buy a full set again.Purchased in June 2021 at Tyresales.com.au for $1,672.00.

Excellent tyre at an affordable price
I've had tyres for several years and cannot fault them. Excellent grip in all round weather and braking distance isn't comprised. Tyres are also competitively priced. I would not hesitate to get them once again!

A bit pricier than the Pilot Sport 3
I have been replacing my Pilot Sport 3s over the last year, the 4s are a little bit more expensive and seemed a bit noisier but the grip seems to do a good job.

Noisy tyre equals 3 stars
Had this tyre come with my new vehicle. Good grip but as they wore more became a pain in my ears with the road noise they produced hence only 3 stars. I ended up changing tyres prematurely at 42000 km because of the annoying road noise.
Bought other tyres and as quiet as these should have been........

Amazing grip in the dry, great in the wet.
I purchased a set of PS 4s to drive across Australia and back. At first they were a bit more noisey than PS 3S but when scrubbed they are fine. When driving through the mountains in snow they gripped very well, and corners could be taken fast. I was feeing as if the car and road were one with the universe, as after each day of driving 700km we did not even feel as if we had been in the car. Mind you the Toyota Aurion is a very smooth car. I would recommend these tyres.

Good tires, a bit expensive though
Good grip on dry and wet, when its start to slip on wet take off, it's time to replace. Expensive to replace. Mileage is not that great. Car - Accord Euro. Was using PS3 previously and it returned about 38k km. PS4 is about the same as well, close to 40k km.

Best Tyres I've Ever Had
Bought a Peugeot 308 wagon new, it came with Michelin Pilot Sport 3's. Loved those tyres, held the road like glue and lasted well. Replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4's - even better. Feel incredibly safe and looking forward to a long and happy use of them.

Not for light sports cars.
I totally agree with Tassie Lorenzo.
To be honest the factory standard Primacy tyres on the Toyota 86 felt better to drive on.
With the pilot sport 4 cornering seems to run wide. If I turn the wheel more they hang on fine .. but not what I was looking for in a tyre on a light weight sports orientated car.
They may be good on a heavier car for highway driving.

Needs wearing in
It is almost like these tyres need a good scrub in.
Brand new, just fitted tyres gave similar grip levels to the 7 year old just road worthy ones that were on the car. Driving out of the fitment centre I was easily able to loose traction and on a 15 year old Corolla this is not what I would expect on a sport oriented tyre.
Pleasingly after a few weeks the grip level has improved.
I purchased this model as they were supposed to have superior wet weather grip, so far I have only had one wet day, so whilst they were much better than the old tyre...Read more

Excellent road tyre!
I bought 4 of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4's as a replacement for my worn out Pilot Sport 3's. I thought that the PS3's were the bees knees, but these PS4's are quieter and grip a whole lot more than the PS3's ever did, and the PS3's were no slouch either! My biggest beef with the PS3's was definitely the noise factor. I have a 2011 Toyota Corolla Hatch, with stock 205/55 R16 alloy rims. I have been a devout Michelin fan since the late 90's, so this time around, I was looking for a quieter tyre than the PS3's, which on course bitumen roads, were ...Read more
making normal conversations in the car become a bit tricky due to the high noise emitting from them. The PS4's have solved that problem for sure. I don't know how Michelin do it, but making a road tyre quieter and have more grip at the same time is ... amazing! Wet or dry is no difference. Very high grip in all weather conditions! I highly recommend these tyres to those people who put safety for their families before anything else, and are not necessarily tight with their wallets. To me, safety is paramount whilst carrying our most precious cargo in our vehicles, our loved ones. Cheers!Purchased in December 2021 at JAX Tyres.

Good but not great
Purchased 225/40/18 tyres.
Good in dry conditions and the wet. Jax inflated tyres to 35 psi. When cornering it felt as though there was too much tyre sidewall roll, as if they weren't inflated enough. Took it up to 38psi, much better.
Tyres are not as quiet as other reviewers have mentioned.
I think the continental MC5 tyres I had previously were better in the handling, especially cornering and were much quieter. Those tyres lasted me 56000 klms.
I don't think these Michelins will last anywhere near as long as the rubber is a softer compound than the Continentals.
I wouldn't purchase these tyres again.
I feel the Continentals were superior in every aspect.

Great all rounder...
Good in wet and dry. I only drove about 15k on the PS4s and they were still in great condition when I sold the BRZ. I also used them on a track day at Wakefield and they were excellent giving plenty of warning prior to letting go which is something I appreciate in a tire. I would highly recommend them with the only issue being the price but I guess you get what you pay for. There are regular offers like buy 3 get one free etc. so if you are not in a hurry this would be worth waiting for. My prior tyres were Bridgestone Potenza RE003 which were also great. The lap on the PS4s was slightly better but they were 10mm wider so it is a hard call as to which was actually faster. I prefer the PS4s in the wet.

Great Tyres
Coming from pirelli p-zero’s I’m really happy with these tyres. They’ve got better grip, they’re quieter and from what I have read I expect them to last a fair bit longer than my old set. A little on the expensive side (in my size particularly) but I see them as well worth it if they live up to their longevity reputation while providing the grip that they do.

How long should these tyres last please?
4 answers
I’ll say 40k easier style driving 50k. I’ve done 4500k on my set and I’m impressed don’t over inflate them.
Oh, I’ve only done 32,000 on the set I have and I already need a new set
My last set lasted at least 55k
Bit disappointed as they cost me $1200
There is promotion atm and you can try to do some more bargaining and price matching

I have a Clubsport 5.7 Gen3 and am running Toyo Proxes T1 Sports.A fantastic tyre especially in the Wet. Treadwear is 240 and I got 25,000 ks out of them. They don't make em amymore so after a seach I've decided to try Michelin PS4s .Should they perform as well as the tredwear rating is 300 I think???

I have had the Pilot Sport 4s on a Toyota V6 Aurion sedan (Now called Camry again in the new models) and after driving across Australia and back on them, about 8,000 kms, which included some mountain roads, I found them really smooth and grippy enough. The road noise is a little bit more than the discontinued Pilot Spot 3s, but overall they are a fantastic value for money tyre. On cold days they take about 3 minutes to warm up then are smooth again. I would recommend them not as a track tyre but as a reliable every day work horse.
