Hi, I have a f&p AEROXL dryer and door won't clip shut, with error message.

Why is my new Fisher and Pakel condenser dryer's drum not tumbling? It worked once and now it doesn't. We have no error message and there is no mention of this problem in the trouble shooting.

I keep getting a 'Door' error message even though the door is closed. Also, I have thoroughly cleaned both the filter and condenser but the filter light keeps flashing.

Any suggestions?

I have just replaced the bearing front drum guide, I think that's now the fourth one in five years. It is obvious that this is a design defect. Replacing it entails taking the whole machine apart, so it's not a quick job. I feel this will be the last time I'll do this, and sadly my F&P dryer will become landfill. What experience have others had with this?

Our dryer is leaking water underneath. I always clean the lint filter and the pull out filter. Happens nearly every load, checked the pipes connection at the back also.

Some models have a small length of pipe underneath I had the same issue mine had come out pushed it back in no more leaks

Thanks for that, the machine was still under warranty and so I getting it repaired. The water pump outlet was leaking so they have ordered parts and will repair.

I'd say it's the same issue as mine, the bearing front drum guide wears out and it makes a lot of noise, also fills the inside of the machine with shredded rubber!

Mine is only 1.5 years old. Had the technicians out FOUR times now to try and fix it. Today they've discovered masses of lint in the crevices behind the front of the machine (which you can only get to by pulling the machine to pieces). Not covered by warranty can you believe it!? How does it even get in there when I clean the lint filter every time I do a load? Not happy.

We've got a Fisher & Paykel Aeroxl DE8060P1 dryer. The 'Water Tank Full' code is coming up but the water tank is empty. It also has nothing to do with kinks in the drain line, because we use the tank and no drain line is connect. What else can it be?

Mark L. ·

I had the same problem, had a technician come out and clean the pump sump said all ok it lasted a day and started again, got the tech out again he replaced the float sensor now it is ok. The fault occurs when the pump continues to run due to the float sticking or a faulty sensor.

We've now had this dryer for about 4 years, and it dries things pretty well, however it has broken twice in that period.
The first was a small plastic gear which had failed, which was about a year ago. The other was the humidity sensor support which seems to have warped from heat, which is the reason for my question.
I'm looking to replace this part, but am unaware how to separate it from the humidity sensor itself.
Any suggestions or guide would be helpful

I am sorry Neil, we are technically 'illiterate' and had to call the expert. It seems that this particular model of the dryer is a 'lemon'. The repair man told us they always have one of these in their repair shop. So whilst we are very happy with our other F&P appliances, we would not recommend this particular dryer model.

Any chance the expert is able to advise on how to separate the sensor from the support?

Any luck on a guide for removal of a humidity sensor?

Our dryer was not working properly so we removed the filter from the drawer on the left hand side and saw that a lot of gunk had built up in the filter. We removed most of it by hand but are wondering if there is a better way. Can these filters be immersed in say soapy water to remove the gunk.

Thanks Peter

I have no idea. Our filter looks clean (we have had the dryer for only 3 years and it has not been used a lot). I will certainly ask the technician next week if the filter can be immersed in soapy water and will let you know.

My dryer DE60F60NW1 gets no water in the tray and the whole machine gets very hot and is not stopping when the clothes are dried. The lint filter is clean, the sensors clean and also the condenser is clean. The drier has been well looked after and not used much over the last 9 years. I've rung the 1300 650 590 and still waiting after 40 mins. Why is there no water in the tray and why is the dryer so hot?

Do others with this machine feel the low heat setting is too hot? We basically only use it for sheets, towels and cloth nappies because clothes always shrink even on low. It would be nice to be able to use it for clothes, seeing as this is why we bought it, but we can’t risk having our clothes shrunk all the time! I’ve asked other people with different dryers if they have this problem and so many people say they don’t.

Why does my dryer ( Fisher & Paykel condenser 8kgs) never dry the clothes completely? Is this a fault ? I’ve had it less than a month and it’s been like this all along, it’s very frustrating .I’ve cut back on the loads, separated items cleaned the filter every time but nothing helps . This is the most expensive dryer I’ve ever bought, and the worst!

its supposed to make ironing easier, use the timed dry function instead of letting it self-sense moisture levels.

Mark E.
Mark E. ·

Set drying level to "extra dry" and see how that goes.

We have this dryer and it's the worst dryer I have ever owned. It takes at least 3 or 4 cycles to get anything to dry, tangles the clothes and sheets. Fisher and Paykel have the worst customer service I've ever experienced, so much so, I will never buy any of their products again. Try setting the dryer - to HEAVY, MEDIUM HEAT, EXTRA DRY and turn all other settings off, this SOMETIMES will dry a load completely. Sometimes. Total waste of money!

Won't spin. Making humming noise. Is this a easy fix

Jason
Jason ·

Hi Kelly F, I've just recently pulled apart my machine and waiting on parts. From what I can see in my machine there is a rubber belt going around the drum, in your machine that could of snapped from wear and tear and the humming noise could be the electric motor spinning freely due to the snapped belt around the drum or could be the roller where the belt connects to the motor. If you were thinking of fixing your machine I would also consider replacing the Drum Guides as well as they are prone to disintegrate. There easy to replace and I had just replaced mine for the part it was 42.00 for both rollers. One on each side of the machine and there held in by 1 nut each. I'm not a qualified technician, just guessing what could be wrong with your machine. You wont know what's wrong until a technician opens it up to inspect. I'm not sure how much a technician will charge to tell you what's wrong but that's something you will have to take into consideration as the cost of labour and parts might not be worth fixing, I pulled mine apart myself that's the only reason why I fixed mine as I had more wrong with mine than I think you have with yours. For you I think a drum belt wouldn't cost no more than 60.00 again that's just guessing and then you would have your labour on that. If your paying someone to pull your machine apart I would do the Bearing Front Drum Guides at 42.00 as they are a common problem they disintegrate and cause the drum to be really noisy and vibrate when turning. I hope this helps and if you have any other question feel free to ask, Sorry for the late reply.

Jason

Does anyone know if the drum roller disintegration problem has been resolved? I had the rollers replaced 3 times and I’m not sure if it’s the same problem again. I bought it in 2015. I don’t want to buy another one if this issue hasn’t been resolved.

we just had to have ours changed. wouldn't use the dryer more than once a month and there is only 2 of us in the house. very surprised to find the rollers had totally collapsed. The Tec said the replacement rollers were much stronger and they are fitted to the new machines. we had to pay to have ours fixed.

Ange Cunningham
Ange Cunningham ·

Thanks for that. Fortunately I didn’t have to pay but I had 3 sets in 3 years. In the end I bought a new Bosch one last month. I use the dryer a lot but @the rate the rollers were disintegrating, I can’t wait around for a trades person to come around and fix.

Phil M
Phil M ·

Interesting that the roller has been strengthened. I'll follow up with F&P. If that's the case then I guess I'll give it one more go!
