My 3700 is hunting especially under load

Hunting is generally due to fuel supply and less often air supply. It is usually due to insufficient fuel which I suspect is the case for you as it's happening under load but there is sometimes a similar effect when the choke is on and the engine has reached operating temperature. So check fuel lines and flow, choke and air filter. Be sure too that you are not overloading the generator because in my estimate the max operating load is closer to 2.5kW.

Has it always done it?

I've had a few of these generators over the years and they all surge if you use low octane fuel, they can also stutter and overload due to octane used.
98 octane is the best and 95 if you can't get 98, but put 91 in it and they just don't like it.
I've generally got around 2-3 years out of them then just buy another which was worth it when you could get them for around $600 delivered, but @ today's prices of $1700+ they're just not worth the problems you will probably have to contend with. I think it will be a Honda or Yamaha next time I need a replacement. That said current one with over 400 hour is the best one I've owned yet.

Service agent in Victoria? Question is, is there a service agent on earth?
I've been on the road for 8 years and on my 3rd Fuji generator, I don't keep buying because they are so awesome (because they're not) but because they are a high power output (3200 watt against Honda 2000 which is 1600 Watts) and my wife can start them with the remote control. Starting with the pull cord - well - have plenty of weeties for breakfast!
Don't run them with low grade fuel 95 octane being the absolute minimum 98 is better, standard regular will have the motor surging and they don't like it.
Fuel bulbs usually last about 18 months then they split, so carry a spare.
I have never paid more than $650 delivered for a Fuji this one I have seen for up to $17/1800 frankly it's just not worth it considering the problems it will throw at you, but if it's cheap enough you can put up with it or just replace it.
Others have commented on no 240v output the inverter board (if you can get one) is under $200 with a Honda it's $1200 and I have met people whose Honda's have failed)
You need to be able to service it yourself, I find if you keep changing the oil and use good high octane fuel and disconnect the battery if you are not using it for a few days (because it will drain because of the remote control stand by) they're OK and do a better job than most, they're not too loud, but are a bit heavy @ 28kg with no fuel and the built-in trolley is useless with its tiny wheels. 7lt tank if used for battery charging and light duty can run for over 8 hours.

For me there was no service back. To buy parts, let alone get some to fit them the cost exceeded the new replacement. I checked out the Certa inverta 3.5 kw remote start unit. Checked with there service agent prior buying a replacement via Kogan. $499 + del. Has a few more features and has proved to be reliable so far.

Had a problem with this generator a few years ago, it tried to start, ran for a couple of revs, then stopped. Turned out it was low oil. Topped up and ran like a dream. Haven't used it since, but, tried to start yesterday and same symptoms. Drained and replaced fuel, checked oil (bit overfull if anything) but no joy. Anyone got any suggestions?

Instead of trying to start it with the pull string which I gave up with connect to external battery. be careful not to short as terminals are small and close together. (I made an attachment so can also use external battery in parallel with internal, parts 2x O crimp terminals, 20a cable and miniature plug / socket from Jaycar.) Pump primer at least 20 times, put on full choke (inside rear cover where primer is on top of carb) don't forget the two taps / valves to turn on. Start. (internal battery has no chance even if charged as need a long engine turn over to pump petrol into carb) When started and engine runs rough, take off choke, should be fine. If problem persists, inject "start ye bas** d" obtainable from auto shop in the spark plug hole and replace plug quick so spray does not evaporate, try again. If all fails take to a Mower or small engine repairer as you may have clogged jets or injector from too long stored fuel. After refueling and working good may pay to to get that pill to drop into the fuel that prevents petrol causing problems over time. (additive called a fuel stabilizer) Petrol I believe from google starts going bad after 1 month if air gets to it. You can youtube "wamperth" for a video on this problem and location of parts made especially for you.

Sorry for the delay in answering. All fixed. Your suggestion of fuel was right. Pulled the generator apart, drained old fuel, stripped carby, cleaned out jets, reassembled, new fuel, couple of tugs and fired up. Thanks for your help.

Same problem I had. You need to replace the remote starter unit which comes with a new remote control. As you just purchased it take it back or if you live in another state and have mechanical knowledge you can have them send you a unit to replace yourself. You may find that if you press the start on the remote 4 or more times in rapid succession it will start.

How do you fix the Fuji F6200RI, when it’s had had fit of the Wobblies, and ends up reving it’s head off and doesn’t put out any AC power? it was very reliable, and had good power, till the Third year and maybe 100 hours John

There are a number of control boards / circuits, When the unit is started it will delay power output till stable. there are some instances power will not be switched in, like if the key is turned off and on again fast and gen has not stopped but resumes it's revs, power remains off till restarted. Where it revs it's head off it has a faulty control board (Usually voltage regulator) and it will need replacing. All boards use plug connectors, but often differ between units purchased even though they the same model, so it can be tricky to get correct one. Note too that although unit has overload protection it does not work real well and overload can result in voltage regulator failure.

How do you adjust the idle on a FUJI-MICRO F6200Ri Pure-Sine Inverter Generator?

7 answers
Dave
Dave

Sorry don't know. Never had to do it.

gri2a
gri2a

You dont adjust the idle. Its controlled by the generator. The more the draw of current, which makes the generaor work harder, the high the revs will compensate.
Having said that, there is an "economy" switch (above the key start). When this is OFF the generator idles faster (maybe1200-1500rpm). When its ON the idle is maybe 700-900rpm.

volcano

Take off the back panel to expose the carb. On the carb is a black screw, turning it clockwise will increase the revs, anticlockwise will decrease the revs. Be careful as there will be a point where turning makes no difference and you may lose the screw if it falls out. It should however not need adjustment as shipped to you.

Great review Gri2a, very helpful as I am looking at buying one. I have my eyes on one second hand and it has only done 10 hours for $675, a bargain I reckon what do you think?
Also can you tell me as I am a little confused with the LCD time reading. Is this the time as in day/night time or is it the time of the operating of the generator? I thought it was the latter but then I saw a generator with the following Time: 020H'25M'29
Thanks for your help mate,
Cheers - Stu

Good genset, does what it is supposed to and weighs about 30 Kg's, pretty good considering it has a key/remote start.
will run your caravan A/C and microwave at the same time easily.
You just need to check out all of the mobs selling these, and the little differences between each retailer, some only have
one 240v outlet, some have a USB outlet.
You will see that from time to time, that the prices fluctuate, I bought a new one just recently for $613.00 brand new delivered
to my door.
