Hi. I have a 5 Star Chef benchtop dishwasher (BDW-6-02A-SI) 2 years old and it seems stuck on the empty cycle, the floor of the dishwasher is full of water and it sounds like its having trouble draining plus its also beeping and flashing. Can you make any suggestions/ and or recommend a dishwasher person on the south side of Brisbane near Logan who can help me out. Thanks. Libby

Check that the outlet pipe is not blocked, and check the filters inside the machine are clean are also not blocked.and clean
Thankyou so much for your reply Greg. We have checked this and there are no pipe blockages, and the filters are clean. Does this mean its likely to be an electronic problem or maybe a slight leak setting off this alert/problem to finish the cycle? Or maybe you know the machines well enough to suggest it might be another issue? I'd appreciate some info if you have it before I pay ($200 which is almost as much as the machine) to have someone to come out (only to tell me it can't be fixed). Also I have rung around and I can't find a supplier who has - do you sell parts if we need them?

The dishwasher has started to leak and trip the middle rapid flashing light. We have drained it as suggested several times, but it now only lasts a few days before it happens again. Obviously a leak somewhere. We can’t see any damage to the rubber seals. Is there anywhere else it could be leaking. Suggestions for a solution. It is 3 years old and performs well apart from this recurring leak problem.

The dishwasher is 3 years old and has functioned very well until recently. Water is obviously leaking and tripping the sensor. We have followed advice and drained out the water by lying the washer on its back and allowing it to dry. However, this problem is recurring more frequently and whatever is allowing the leak is getting worse. One member of the community has suggested there may be a split O- ring in the outlet pump. How do we remove and replace the ring? Or could there be another source of leak? The rubber seals don’t seem to be damaged.

Disconnecting water hose and power, I removed the dishwasher, turning it onto it's front. I removed the black base and on the bottom right is a grey (mines grey) drain pump. I took a photo of the position and where the two wire connections go and then I removed both. The pump can be totally removed by twisting it to unlock. Once removed you're able to order the part online, I just googled the part number which is printed on the side of the pump. I've had my dishwasher for 5 years going into 6 and I've just replaced the drain pump for the 3rd time. Perhaps it's a fault with this particular brand ???... I can say that on all occasions it was the tiny 'O' ring that had split and caused the leaking which caused the white float to set of the 'trip' and prevents the dishwasher from working. The light flashes on the programming wash cycle and the only way to stop it is to tip the water out manually and replace the pump. Also when taking the base off, the 'trip' connection needs to be disconnected, it just clips in and out easily. I took photos so it was easy refer back. If you want to see the 'O' ring pull off the white impeller (can't be sure that's the correct name) but it's white and looks like a proper, inside there is a tiny 'O' ring that splits causing leakage. Hope this is helpful.
Thanks Ingrid. We followed your directions and found an 0 ring. It wasn’t tiny- about the size of a 10cent coin. Not split, but perhaps a bit dirty. We also managed to take apart the big pump (white) which pumps the water in. That has a very big O ring which seemed a bit loose. We replaced it with a new one which is tighter. It was very difficult to get to and to put together again, but we managed after many attempts. The washer is working again, but have only done 2 washes since, so we are waiting to see how long before it trips the sensor again. Fingers crossed.

Is water inlet hose able to be disconnected from the dishwasher unit - I have just purchased a second hand unit and I need to connect a longer hose than the one it came with. Even though it appears to have screw nut when I attempted to undo it turned whatever it is attached to within the dishwasher. Also a user manual would be great - is there a web link that someone could provide. Many thanks Dee

My 5 star Chef bench top dishwasher occasionally trips the safety switch. What could cause this? Also, when power is restored, do I have to go right back to the start of the cycle or is there some way I can pick up where it left off when the power fails?

When the circuit breaker switch goes off it usually signifies an electrical fault, either in the dishwasher or the dishwaher is overloading the circuit. Make sure nothing else is on the same time that may also help overload the circuit, turn other appliance off if you can then try the diswasher. And secondly ..after a power outage you have to restart the dishwasher cycle. And if in doubt about the power outage and it persists call an expert or electrician. Also check the power cord and wall socket. hope this helps.
Thank you Greg. Will do as you suggested.

Just wondering if anyone can help, my dishwasher starts, it starts to fill with water and then stops, it doesn’t go into the next stage of the cycle. When I turn it off and back on again it drains the water and starts again to refill, I’ve pull off all hoses, checked it’s not blocked and it still does it. Can anyone suggest a fix? I can’t find my manual to trouble shoot. I am guessing a pump issue maybe? But I’m no electrician. Thanks in advance.

Need some advice with my 5 star chef BDW-602A-SI. My dishwasher have this rapid light blinking on the right side once I turn it on even without pressing anything. I tried switching it off and on but would get the same result. In the manual it says if there is rapid light flicker tap is not open or water intake is restricted or water pressure is too low. I have no problems with these 3 but still my dishwasher won't work. help.

The only light(s) that blink are a one of the cycle Icons on the right hand side, they will blink until the cycle you have selected has completed . i have had my unit for 18mths and have not had an ounce of trouble with it.So please ensure it's just not a cycle light blinking, Oh does the machine work when light is flashing?
The light that keeps flickering is the middle one on the right side. Once I switch it on it starts to blink and beep already just turning it on but it doesn't work.

Ihave the 5star chef benchtop dishwasher and it's begun to beep repetitively but not wash ... have checked all connections, have put water in via bucket, but nothing helps. Can you please send me a manual or instructions on what to do? Thank you.

mine too it started yesterday don't know what to do
It occurs when water drips and pools in the bottom sensored leak cavity. It has a foam circle attached and sits in the bottom, when water leaks the foam circle lifts and sets off a sensor and stops the.dishwasher from working - beeping constantly. Switching off doesn't reset it. The dishwasher has to be tilted forward and the water will come out and allow the foam to sit back down in its spot. I have had to replaced the tiny O'ring inside the drain pump twice now as it splits allowing water to drip out. Once replaced the dishwasher doesn't have further issues until the O'ring splits again. Hope this is helpful.
How do you open the drain pump?
