MW511 Pride wash machine - no go - there's power at the motor controller, but no go - nothing works. Any ideas?
How old is this model?
Bottom Heat setting (Cold), water level, spin setting and start buttons do not work. If I want to change these upwards they worK. MW511 Any ideas?
I ran a load and the machine filled as usual then when I checked later the machine is full of cold water but no power lights come on.
where is the lint catcher? thanks
The lint catcher is located under the agitater remove the fabric softener you will find a tap at the bottom of the agitater remover that and you will find the lint in the bottom it is a very easy process and easy to clean .
The lint catcher is the whole of the outside of the inner bowl.
During washing, the water travels down through the agitator and comes back in through the outside of the inner bowl.
those holes have sharp edges on the outside (they will cut your hands) and that traps the lint.
When it spins, the lint is dislodged and gets washed down the drain.
Hi. I have a good condition, little used F & P MW511 in a holiday house. Grandson put a load of washing in. Turned washer on. Big flash and bang. Tripped out at power box. Reset fuse and tried again. Same thing. Big flash and bang behind top panel. Is this worth fixing or am I wasting money?
A short circuit on the mainboard for some reason, possibly a leaking solenoid valve allowing water into the circuit board. If its around 6yeats old or longer might be better off replacing with a new one. Costs are high to repair.
Actually it would be better to replace it, to repair is way too expensive. If you are willing to take a chance, have a look at either Ebay or Gumtree; plenty of great washing machine bargains there!
The machine Model MW511 screams like the belt is sliping I ahve to stop and sart again Is this fatal?
My old machine did the same after around 9years of service. They have a gear arrangement which is not worth fixing and expensive to fix. Shop around and buy yourself a new one rather than waste time spending money on repairs which normally carry a dubious 30day warranty.
Cheers
Actually Gazz, have a look on UTube - it tells the exact part you need to purchase and how to install it - very easy! It even shows you how to do it yourself ......
The MW511, like all washers in the Fisher & Paykel range, have a direct drive brushless DC motor(BLDC).
No brushes to wear out, no screaming noise when spinning, no drive belt or gearbox (direct drive).
Depending what part of the cycle will tell you whats wrong, if its on spin or drain cycle, there is a god chance it is the drain pump.
And yes, you can fit one yourself.
The power button is broken from the Touch Panel. I'm still able to run the machine, it's just I need to put my finger inside the hole to power it ON.
I'm not sure if I just need to replace the Touch Panel ??
Please help.
Thank you
Usually I will put fingers inside the hole with care.
Or use something to touch it. It should still work.
This happened on me before when I put the washing machine in the balcony.
Hopefully it helps.
Before I purchased this for my mum and she has not had any problems. I have many problems with the touch panel and had to replace mine 3 times which is why I weary of purchasing the F & P. I found that mine cracked all the time as I was putting washing in and taking it out when wet hands and it kept constantly cracking but still worked. But my mum wanted the F & P so I bought it for her. I myself found this to be a problem with F & P touch panels.
Without the machine turned on when u plug it into the mains power it trips the circuit breaker. Any ideas?
hi Fred sounds like either a short in the wiring some were or has water been spilled on the machine look for any leaks. Hard to fix when you cannot see the machine
Yep thanks for that, thought the same thing. It is in a holiday rental unit owned by my mate who is recovering from surgery. Cant get in to check the machine until saturday when the people leave. The machine has been working fine up till the moment but in the off position when plugged into the power, the cct breaker trips..will check it on sat
Will only partly fill, just stops. Have checked water hoses fine, checked water level button on correct place. Turned off at wall and left off for 15 minutes and retried no luck. Clean hose filters at tap cannot remove ones on machine. Any ideas what to do next? Carol
yes, call repairs
It is very difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of the specific cause without the benefit of inspecting your appliance.

inlet valves, temperature sensor, RPS, controller.....
any of these can cause the fault.
you need to call an F&P technician, they carry 95% of stock and can usually repair same day, and usually cheaper.
The washer machine just stop there is no power is there a reset button?
a reset button...hmmm.... im not sure hey.
was there a surcharge / power failure?
did the cycle finish?
was the machine overloaded, unbalanced?
is the machine new or old?
IF none of the above, i would turn it off, unplug; plug back in, wait a few minutes, and then start again.
thats all i can offer
There is no reset button.
If machine dead then any number of components can cause this fault.
Sometimes one component can cause another component to blow - replace the blown component and plug it in can cause the new component to blow.
An F&P technician will test all ancillary components before replacing known faulty one.
Have not got a book on instructions, would appreciate someone explaining the format of the process to do a wash.

Hi there, my washing machine middle piece won't spin. It fills but then starts beeping and it won't spin.
This has never happened to me, sorry, I can not be of any help. I am a bit pandantic about having even loads and not too high but otherwise I cannot help you, sorry.
The clothes, specially on a dark wash are coming out with fluff. Does the machine have a lint filter, if not do you have suggestions to clean the machine or reduce impact of lint?
I have a MW512. You could try running a hot wash with bicarb and vinegar in the water and nothing else. Maybe something you a re putting in that wash has a lot of loose fibres?
Have had ours for 11 years now - when lint or other bits were found on cloths pulled out the wringer [wing nut inside], take top off [2 screws], unclip top section, access to bowl, undo screws in bowl - bowl comes out then its very easy to clean. found excess detergent and conditioner the problem - discussed with operator re the amount of detergent / conditioner needed alas no behavioral change so clean out every few years. these are a good machine.
