Selling and using Fitch product in mid 1990s
Real, 1994 was the introduction of MTBE. Huge disasters for Many internal combustion engines. Then later a misleading label, up to 10% ethanol. Many places measured up between 18-20% ethanol. I know it's varied by region.
Drop ins, or the canisters, truly keep gas from degrading, for real.
Particularly useful in trucks and cars using vehicle Tuners/Programmer when they need 91 octane or 93. Really it's easier to have the canisters. Generally using 89 octane and you genuinely never get detonation. Multi cylinder misfire. Good airflow and timing
Total Waste of Money
Bill agree - OFT should do something about these morons. I was 1 of idiots installed fitch LandCruiser Prado 120 in 2008. Wasted money, fuel economy up 0.25%, Fitch guy disappeared.
... Read moreMore power with a small fuel efficiency improvement
After adding the Fitch fuel pellets, our 2006 Toyota Yaris got an obvious increase in power and fuel efficiency. The car was running badly when we put the fuel pellets in (not the fuel line canister)... and then suddenly it was running noticeably better.
It turned out that the spark plugs had been left in for 40,000 km longer than they should have and the gaps had opened up to around double the what they should have been.
This experience taught us that the Fitch catalyst worked (boosts the octane rating)... even though the other motorbikes an
... Read mored cars we put Fitch into didn't show a measurable fuel efficiency increase: Logbooks aren't very good at picking up fuel efficiency improvements below 5%. However, all vehicles seemed to have more power... although it wasn't possible to measure exactly how much without a dyno test. The extra power and the fact that the pellets never wore out (the same pellets are now in their 4th motorbike) was the only reason I persisted in testing the product: If you have more power you ought to have better fuel efficiency? I almost stopped using the product because the small fuel efficiency improvement couldn't be measured N.B. All our engines are very clean, run well and have been optimised for fuel efficiency... which might account for the lack of any measurable increase in fuel economy? A product that lasts the lifetime of a car only needs to improve fuel efficiency by a small amount of 1-2% to pay for itself? Other benefits: The motorbike and lawnmower are easy to start even after sitting for long periods.Nonsense product by a nonsense company
Why do people buy this garbage? Fitch are morons relying on nonsense to sell this utter rubbish. Doesn't work, can't work and .. a waste of money. Someone should complain to ACCC about these dodgy scumbags. All Fitch products are of extremely dubious integrity (and that's being diplomatic). Avoid at all costs.

Buying my fourth Fitch Fuel Catalyst.
I love this product. My first catalyst I bought off ebay for my Ford Laser because I didn't think I was getting enough klms out of one tank of fuel.
Once my mechanic fitted it, the little Laser had more pick up and achieved a further 140 to 170 klms more per tank of fuel. My second catalyst went on my F150 and it managed to give me an extra 100 klms per tank. The third catalyst went on my daughter Subaru Liberty and she has noticed it running smoother and gets an extra 120 klms per tank of fuel. Fourth one is going on my V8 Lexus.
What a Wonderfully Magical Super Part.
This "magical fuel enhancer" saved this recipient up to and over a litre of fuel per 100km!! The engine is running better and the iron ppm is only 7!! WOOHOO!! I just cant believe that manufacturers aren't putting this on their cars as standard. It doesn't make sense!!! Mazda spent 150 million on their skyactive engines to get the Mazda 3 from 8.2 litres per 100km to 6.1. Should've chucked a fitch on there. Fool's! Only half a grand per vehicle. The normal driver doing 20,000 km per year will save that in petrol costs in five years!!! Assuming it works ofcourse... but dont worry, it will. The recipients love it.
Is better then Peter Brocks magic petrol crystals.
Doesn't work
Excellent
The product is highly recomended, the money saved has been incredible. The wear and tear on engine has decreased and the exhaust emmisions decreased all in all the product is perfect in my books.
I saw the product advertised on CH7 and I imediatly acted on it,the fuel cost was rising and rising so I contacted the fitch supplier and organised a day to have fitted to my car,as soon as it was fitted I took my car for a test run, and it was unbelevable as to how it reacted straight away, the sound of the engine was changed to a cleaner crisper
Excellent
I ask my self "why did I wait so long to have one fitted" with fuel prices going up and not down. I realised I need to look after my asset (my car) and preserve the environment (for my kids and grandchildren) I should of done it sooner. There are so many products out there and I was very sceptical at first but now I'm so glad to have put one on.
FITCH Fuel Catalyst WOW! what a product I'm loving it! The money I have
saved on fuel, repairs and up keep... I am BLOWN away .
The thing I love the most is helping the environment by reducing my carbon footprint. Everyone should
on board and get a FITCH fitted to their car. The other great thing is that the FITCH can be taken with me if I decide to get another car.

Questions & Answers
This product was listed by ACCC and featured in Herald Sun newspaper in 2009. Anyone can read the findings and why the product should be avoided?
I have been using this product for a number of years. First time on my old Ford Laser and it made a huge difference in the cars performance and gave me an extra 100 klms per fuel tank. I then had it fitted to my next car a 1998 Holden Astra hatchback and it worked as well as the first one, great performance in the car and more klms per tank. I put one in my daughters 2006 Subaru and same thing, great performance and better fuel mileage. I have a Lexus 470 4x4 V8, I had one put in it, I couldn't say performance improved because its already a gutsy car, fuel mileage only improved by 50 klms per tank, but it is a V8. I have never had any problems with this product and I will continue to use the Fitch Fuel Catalyst in the future. I had a professional mechanic install all of mine.
Fitch was only asked to remove unsubstantiated claims. Other products were removed from the market entirely.

A fair bit of evidence exists that fuel catalysts do work... so it's always surprising that the people selling these products don't bother to list it?
Fitch also have some testing but resellers often don't bother posting these tests:
You'll find the tests on the manufacturers website.
Fitch resellers often rely on testimonials rather than the tests when making claims:
That's presumably what the ACCC meant when it said that it required the removal of unsubstantiated claims.
I've used Fitch for about 20 years:
I never got much of an economy improvement (except in one car when it needed new plugs)... but IMHO the power does increase, engines run cleaner and are easier to start.
Thus your satisfaction with the product probably depends on what you're willing to accept as a benefit?
If you're lucky you may also get a measurable mileage improvement?
:-)
Does the fitch catalyst work on a toyota4.2 lt diesel six cyl thanks jeff
Hi Jeffrey, I have found the catalyst works on all motors, but with my V8 Landcriuser and previous F150 only managed to get an extra 50klms per tank of fuel out of it, which is still something. The smaller the motor the more klms you seem to get. My Laser and my daughters Subaru get upto an extra 100klms and all cars engines run well with it fitted.
This product and many others that make outrageous claims were featured in Herald Sun 2009 report. The ACCC suggested that these products should be avoided.
Google it. You'll find these reviews and a bunch of warnings. Read all of them.
I can't find the NRMA article so it's not possible to comment on it.
Perhaps Fitch resellers have exaggerated the fuel economy benefits while underplaying improvements in areas such as bacterial/fungal growth and improvements in octane?
:-)
