High priced but poor quality
This sink was purchased for inclusion in a new kitchen upgrade replacing a 30yr old Clark. What attracted us to the sink was its deep spacious bowl, colander and dimensions. The sink was installed and put into everyday use. The first impression was fantastic, Electric frypan fits into the bowl and larger kitchen items were easy to wash. First issue was that the side drain is flat/level and the water lies needing to be wiped out after use. No insulation on the bowl meant that the sink loses the hot water very quickly, could also be the fact
... Read more that the stainless steel is very thin gauge as well. Speaking of the stainless steel, it scratches and marks very easily, my wife reckons "it looks worse than our 30yr old sink". The plastic colander started splitting within in a few months of use but was strange as it split on the inside and the bottom raised upward. It is now split every where and is super glued back together. Contacted retailer and Franke direct and no warranty or no cost replacement was available. I can purchase a replacement colander (now stainless steel) for $239 best price which if added to the original sink cost would be around 10% of total kitchen cost!. In the first 12 months I had replaced the rubber seals on the sink strainers as they were letting water out of the bowl. Overall I would not recommend this sink or the warranty service offered by Franke.Questions & Answers
