Hi, I was told that by using your website that business who would not have access to credit information through a credit report pertaining to a person may then be able to obtain it through you. Is any of that correct?

I have concerns this is mainly a service for data collection after I looked at the website but I haven't read all your policy documents yet.

If I sign up to you and then decide to delete my profile with you, will that remove all the information about me on your system?

Thanks for your time.

I have also heard this. I can only imagine the possible places that information could be given if consent isn't required to give this information away. I am doubtful having the information that this website gives would really assist someone to get credit. I can't help but wonder if a low or high credit score actually makes a difference.

Why does my monthly score from getcreditscore differ greatly from my monthly score I get from another similar service? The data behind them seems right in terms of credit enquiries, repayment history etc. I'm talking a 200+ point swing from Below Average to Very Good.

Hi Luke,

GetCreditScore retrieves your credit score from Equifax (formerly Veda), Australia's leading credit bureau. Equifax currently use a comprehensive scoring method and are considered the most accurate, and in turn, are the most used credit reporting bureau in Australia.

There are a few reasons why scores from other Credit Reporting Bureaus might be different. These can include but are not limited to:

- Different calculation methods and interpretation of data.
- Financial institutions reporting all credit behaviour back to each bureau (e.g. many institutions send data to Equifax but not other bureaus).
- Different scales utilised to present your score. Some use a score out of 1,000 while GetCreditScore via Equifax use 1,200.

If you have any queries or concerns relating to your credit score, or the information held on your credit file, these would need to be addressed directly with Equifax. You can contact Equifax directly by following this link -

Hi,

At this stage, we are unable to change the e-mail address associated with an account.

If you would like to change your e-mail address, you would need to cancel the account against the old address and then create a new account against your new e-mail address.

I have an account with get credit score, but the email address I used is now closed. I cannot log into my account to get my score. I sent a message to you with my details, to change it to my new email, but never got a reply and still cannot log in. Since then, someone has opened an optus account & got a new phone on a $59.00 month plan in my name, which my phone has been prepaid since I bought it seven years ago. It is now being investigated. Can you put a fraud alert on my rating, so the fraudsters cannot open any other accounts or borrow in my name. Once I find the mugs, I'll put them in Jail.

Hi Scott,

In order to place a restriction on your credit file, you can contact the credit bureau directly which we can help you with – just send us a private message via this website, Facebook or via our website contact form – It’s possible that our prior response to you went through to your spam or junk folders, so please check these after contacting us.

We’ll also take you through the steps to get your account up & running again on a new email address.

Thanks

What are the differences between all these credit score places? And who is generally the better one to use?

Hi Joanne, the free credit score sites all get their credit scores from one of Australia's three credit bureaus - Equifax (formerly 'Veda'), Dun & Bradstreet and Experian. Equifax is Australia's leading credit bureau, and their credit score can be retained from GetCreditScore.com.au. It's important to get your credit score from this bureau as it is used most by lenders in Australia, and this way you can see yourself as the banks see you during any applications you make for credit. Thanks!

I have tried to get my credit rating but to no avail. I am concerned now that the information O provided will be given to others. I have had guidance from a chap who works there who told me to request a free written report from their providers but after reading these reports I wont bother.
Which is the official organisation that manages credit reports for Australians?

Hi quinlivan, there are 3 credit bureaus in Australia - Equifax (formerly Veda), Dun & Bradstreet, and Experian. GetCreditScore returns your credit score directly from Equifax, Australia's leading credit bureau. If you were unable to generate a score via getcreditscore.com.au, it may be because the details you provided the site do not match Equifax's records, or possibly you don't have a credit file with them. Hope this helps!
