It should only beep when it's reached it's required temperature. If it continues to beep I'd take it back to the store?

Hi

My partner brought me a new ghd for Xmas. If worked great for a few months but now has A red flashing light and doesn't heat like it was. What is the issue for this? How can we resolve the issue please ? I live in Aus

Hi Donna
Where abouts do you keep your hair straightener? As it may be because its cold or has condensation inside it. This may sound funny but you actually shouldnt keep your GHD in the bathroom cause they can get cold and dont like it, or if u want to keep it in the bathroom then wrap it in a towel. This may fix the problem. If not then call GHD and you may be able to get a replacement. Hope this helps :)

Your partner is very kind! Take it back to the retailer or GHD. I don't like to answer technical questions as I am not an expert and questions around electricity require expert answers. I keep my straightener in my bedroom away from all water and condensation.

I'm wanting to purchase another GHD IV after having used one for 13 years but am a bit worried about the negative reviews. Please advise if they were a bad batch? MA

I don't know if there was a bad batch but I don't have any issues with mine. It's been working fine.

Like Alida, I haven't had any issues with mine either. And it's my second GHD as I had one for many years too (I think a 3rd series? The ones that still had the squared off edges?). Now I can do the flick rolls and it's very smooth;no snagging.

What has happened to GHD's? I have been an advocate of them for 10 years - the last ones I purchased 2 year's ago developed the flashing light fault & I sent them to a repair agent to fix but they've never been right I always have two sets and the end broke 2 weeks ago. I purchased a new one from John lewis and it started the flashing/not hearing up fault a week ago. I will return to JL for a replacement but am seriously concerned that the quality has gone downhill - can anyone recommend a better make?

I gave up 2yrs ago when l purchased a new one. they are not like they used to be. when l rang to complain i was told to go back to where l purchased it and they'll show me how to use it! WHAT AN INSULT...... AFTER USING FOR 15YRS I THINK BY NOW I SHOULD KNOW HOW TO USE ONE!
I now recommend MUK hair straighteners, fantastic will never buy another ghd brand ever again

Has anyone else had problems getting a refund from ghd or a response from website? I know they arrived back as were signed for. I've contacted ghd twice now through the website and had an email asking me for feedback on their response but I've not actually had a response! It was signed for on the 5th and the website says refund within 5 days but I've still heard nothing! Thanks!

I have had my GHD IV for around 3 years and it had bleepy sound before it died. My friend checked it and said the ceramic heater was broken. Could you please let me know if this can be fixed and how much the cost. If I want to buy a new one, which GHD is recommended?

Hi. Ghd wasn't very helpful at all.they just wanted me to buy another pair. They didn't come back with any response where and if I could get them fixed. So I decided not to buy any more as mine were very expensive and haven't looked into getting them fixed. sorry.

Hi, not sure if you got an answer to this but they can't be fixed. They are designed that way ie not repairable. GHD Have told me that straighteners can't be repaired

Well I'm confused,, panic hubby just brought me a ghd IV styler is this the crappy one everyone's talking about ??? What a good ghd I can take this back n swap it for ?? Got this for my bday today ... Dont want a lemon want s good straightener ??? Please help advice please

GHD IV is older but much better than the GHD V styler. It is closer to the original styler I bought 7 years ago (same shape and weight in the hand). I went to the store to buy this one to replace my old GHD and was talked into getting the V. You should be happy with this version and if not go for the cloud 9 brand.

I had my GHD IV for 5 years & dropped it everyday! I'm looking at purchasing my next GHD but I'm not sure on which one to get or if I should try cloud 9..?????....

don't get a cloud 9, they are also rubbish, had one and it only lasted a few months. poor customer service as well!

Do I use on slightly moist hair or dry hair for best straightening results.I have long hair.

best to use on dry hair. but i wouldn't recommend this iron to begin with,

Dry hair, if you use it on slightly wet hair your hair will go frizzy.

Yes the IV Styler goes into a sleep mode and beeps as a reminder to switch it off.
