Very good bike (2017 overseas model/ 2018 Aussie model) Full E+1 Pro
After changing h/bars & stem to highest avail. rise and fitting schwalbe 2.4 super moto-X tyres (easily accomodated with existing cables), we have a versatile and comfortable general purpose bike. Steering geometry provides good stability with a neutral and confident feel in corners, still quick enough for emergency change of course actions.

Loved riding this bike but still on the fence..
Overall I found this bike actually made the ride on my local rocky & hilly technical single track terrain more enjoyable, encouraging me to ride further to hit distant unridden trails without any concern about any uphill sections or obstacles I may encounter. The pedal assist encourages you to raise your cadence (& speed) while pushing the higher gears & I found that while my average heart rate was similar, the time spent nearer my maximum heart rate was reduced thus I actually felt I had more left in the tank after a 3 hour ride on the e-bike ...
Read morethan I normally would on a shorter ride on my usual Giant Trance! The suspension sag & pressure were set by the shop before my ride & I didn't change anything during the ride. I found the suspension & tyres were able to eat up anything thrown at them, which is good as with the higher speed line choice time is reduced, while running wide on corners on unknown tracks is increased! I even avoided a flat which to be honest I was expecting with the raised speed on the rocky terrain! However I did find the front end had a tendency to want to wash on faster dry sections which could be due to poor technique or the tyre itself. With regard the electric motor I couldn't imagine a better pedal assist system & found myself easily moving through the various power modes trying to keep in the lowest Eco mode where possible, but changing to a higher assist level depending on the incline of the terrain encountered. The power assist engaged promptly within a small movement of the pedal which was a great aid when restarting on a incline or when suddenly encountering a obstacle needing a boost of speed. I also turned the power off completely on some downhill sections & the bike rode fine along with the smoothly operating dropper seat, however when I tried pedalling on flatter sections with the power off the additional weight of the bike & motor drag became apparent. The battery was fully charged when I set out, but while out discovering new trails (getting lost), I found myself becoming aware of the remaining power as it dropped, not wanting to have to push a dead e-bike out of the forest especially up the inclines I knew I had to traverse I pondered the cost & weight of a spare battery! In the end I could have ridden longer than the 2h 45m @ 30kms but managed to get back to the car with 4% remaining! I found the ground clearance to be less than my Giant Trance due to the motor being lower than a normal bottom bracket, resulting in riding over logs being challenging & big logs not possible as the base of the motor grounds out. So unless your happy to constantly smash into the somewhat flimsy bash plate potentially damaging the motor housing behind you need to get off, also the weight of the bike & the way the motor works make it harder if not impossible to give a quick powerful half pedal to lift the front end to assist. I did also notice the pedals seem to catch the ground a lot more which I think was likely due to the lower ground clearance.- Date Purchased
