Broke after 2 years
I loved the size and photos / video quality, but it suddenly started to make squeaking sound on all videos recorded unless the camera is fixed to a permanent position. In another word even if you mount the camera to your chest, head or elsewhere, if you move, it makes noise... What's the meaning of having a GoPro if it cannot be used when in actions. Wanted to repair, but seems no repair option available. Instead GoPro offered 40% discount purchase of Hero 7 Black or Fusion whose price is $599 and $899 respectively. No discount option for lower...
Read more version. This means l have to cough up another nearly $360 minimum. GoPro thinks it is a great deal, but I disagree, I would rather pay less money for repairing it especially given I loved Hero5 Session. Quite disappointing... I would have given 4 or 5 stars if it lasted at least few more years... If you are thinking to buy second hand Hero5 Session, be aware of this.Purchased in for $426.

Lovely little cube of 4K goodness!
Purchased with the intention of capturing a visit to the Great Barrier Reef, without being distracted by a screen or a bulky body. Worked like a charm, and very pleased with the quality of the results!
Bear in mind that without OIS, the actual video quality of this is lower than a GoPro Hero # - even with electronic stabilising enabled, handheld/body-mounted videos are more shaky than perhaps you might like. However for relatively smooth movements (as you get while snorkelling), tripod-mounted shots (e.g. timelapse video), and even just shot...
Read mores stabilised with careful holding in the hand, I am very pleased with the output. I have also found that post-processing stabilisation methods (i.e. using video editing software), combined with 60+ FPS recording available at 1080p and lower resolutions, helps to somewhat limit the shakiness of the shots. Without a screen, you'll need the mobile app to adjust advanced settings and set up timelapse shots. But for me the lack of screen was part of the appeal: you press the button, and you're recording without feeling like you need to keep an eye on the picture, so you can still live in the moment. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that my unit has stopped connecting to my PC properly. The camera still records perfectly. And I can take the uSD card out and put it in a card reader, which that works just fine, but GoPro Quik doesn't recognise the camera itself when plugged in through USB. I'll just get the camera replaced, but it's just lucky that I have a uSD card reader otherwise I'd have no easy way to download my footage. Not sure how widespread this problem is, but that's my experience so I can't give it 5 stars. Sitll, highly recommended. Great for what it is, and an excellent way to capture some memories without distracting yourself from living in the present.

Meh, poor quality
I have a GoPro 4 Silver, and the actual image quality of the 4 vs the 5 session is miles ahead, both in still and video. I only bought the 5 Session because of the surprisingly good quality of the 4.
Pros:
1.- I like voice recognition, even if it's not that accurate.
2.- Form factor.
Cons:
1.- Image quality is really bad, and all the LUT profiles I have for the 4 don't work, and it's almost impossible to get good IQ. I used to always shoot with ProTune, but with the 5 Session I can't get good IQ and I'm an expert with Premiere and Photoshop. So now I leave ProTune off.
2.- It switches itself off randomly.
3.- Battery is short, max 1hr.

It's an extension of your eye
Got one of these as a birthday present, it's just the best. Very easy to use, just point and shoot. The best part of it, is what you can see is what the GoPro films. When you look back at the footage, it's exactly how your eyes saw it. Just outstanding quality. Very durable (I had a floating case as well), goes underwater, perfect for anyone who does outdoor filming.
Cons
The stills you take from pausing and screen-shotting are ok. Not fantastic, probably about the same quality as earlier models of the samsung galaxy phones (good, but not i...
