Aggressive and rude
I was using their on-line site to examine different covers when I was called up by one of their "salesman". After providing information on the cover I required, I was provided with a quote that represent some saving on my current cover. I was immediately asked to provide my current membership details and payment arrangements; the person clearly wanted me to sign up immediately. I asked for a copy of the Product Disclose Statement to be emailed to be so that I could make an informed decision on changing my insurer to which the person responded "Thanks veery much for wasting 23 minutes of my time, I thought you were serious about saving some money, Goodbye" and rang off.
Do NOT touch this crowd!

Disastrous health insurance transfer
I used Health Insurance Comparison to change health insurance but they didn't notify my old insurer as promised so I was being charged double insurance fees for a few months. When I asked them about sorting it out, they just told me to contact the ombudsman and blame my old insurer. However, after many hours of phone calls it became apparent that as a broker they should have requested my old insurer send a transfer certificate to my new insurer. They basically did nothing and just collected the fees, and they continued to do nothing when the problem became apparent. Avoid.

Telemarketing calls
I did a comparison review on line. To do this you have to give personal information such as name, phone number and email address. I was reluctant to do this but wanted to compare so filled in the required fields. Could not achieve any worthwhile better results than my existing fund so left the site. Within minutes I received an email and phone call. I did not want this unnecessary intrusion into my life. Beware.

Rude and arrogant - don't use this company - Giving 1 star because I can't give 0
I did a health fund comparison online however, to get any results you must put in your personal details on the form including a phone number as it is a mandatory.
After completing the online questions, I got the information I needed and within minutes I received a phone call from them. I hadn't had any time to read through the notes and I told the sales person this and also told him that I DID NOT ask for a call back.

The call was answered with an abrupt "hello" and I immediately thought I had dialed the wrong number. I asked the person to identify where I had called and he said "well who do you want"? I went on and explained the reason for my call and to ask for my number to be deleted from the calling list because I have received numerous calls and he said well, only 7 ! INCORRECT !2 comments

Provided incorrect and misleading information
Spoke to a representative about switching health funds, explained my current level of cover (basic hospital only), joined a new fund with basic hospital and extras cover and was informed of no waiting periods for basic extras, can claim STRAIGHT AWAY and I can automatically get two dental check-ups per year with a number of dentists in my area without a gap payment!
A courtesy call from my new fund informed me that my policy did in fact have 2 month wait periods for basic extras as I did not have extras this on my previous cover, AND the no ga...Read more
p dental check ups were in fact something that individual dentist may or may not offer i.e. I had to call the dentist first to confirm that they would provide the no gap check up through my current fund before booking an appointment. Do not use comparison websites, the sales people get paid commission for their sales and the more sales they make, the more money the individual makes! Once they have a sale with you, they don't want to know you. Do your own comparison with the health funds directly and save yourself the drama at the other end!1 comment

Selling your data to scammers
I did a comparison and made the mistake if giving them my phone number. After I unsubscribed from their sms list they sold on my details to scammers. I've had a scam call/sms per day since the moment I did the comparison.
Do not trust them with your personal details.

Helpful and Highly Recommed
We recently reviewed our existing private health cover through Health Insurance Comparison and it was the best move we made. The person we dealt with was professional, informative and worked out the best deal saving us 50% on premiums with a new provider who offered almost identical cover without all the extras that didn't relate to our situation. Easy to compare health insurance and I got a better deal
I was with Qantas Assure for points. I wasn't really getting much out of the coverage and when my misses was in hospital, I decided to do my own check to see what I was covered for. Turns out it wasn't much so I started looking online. I checked a few sites and ended up using Health Insurance Comparison to compare a few different ones.

Would Not Recommend, Misleading Information
Having, recently, read some disquieting facts regarding previous Health Insurer, Bupa, (65 years, loyal), and the new increase in payments prompted me to "look around". Contacted Health Insurance Comparison and received, what I thought, genuine information favoring another Company, H.C.F. Had problems cancelling the original Company, with a loss of over $100 and when it came down to the eventual final figures with H.C.F. the difference was $4. We did not "shop-around" for other specialists, wished to retain the original specialist who is brilliant. One of the statements from H.I.C that made us favor the new Company, was that the new Company, H.C.F., had better "gap" arrangements than others. Wrong! Also they quoted, in their comparison, yearly figures, not taking into account monthly payments, as I had been paying previously, consequently when the final contract arrived we realized we had been misled. Rude and Agressive.
I did a comparison online. As usual you can't actually get any results unless you put in details including phone number as they are marked mandatory fields. Within less than 10 minutes I had an aggressive sales girl on the phone. I explained to her I hadn't had a chance to have a good look as yet and that I hadn't ticked any options requesting immediate call back. Her aggression escalated quickly (I could literally hear her sigh and eye roll) and repeated over and over 'you shouldn't of entered your phone number, you entered your phone number, don't put your phone number in next time'. The fact that the system wouldn't allow the comparison to be done unless all mandatory fields including a verified phone number where completed and that providing the information for that purpose was not the same as requesting a call back was completely beyond her comprehension. I understand perhaps some follow up is ok, but give people a couple of days or ask if they would like one. Shame as I was a genuine customer they have now lost not because of the call back but the attitude of the staff.2 comments

My last keyboard keystroke and they were ringing me
If I wanted to speak to someone I would have called. I had provided all of the information required and asked for quotes. No. They rang within seconds. I said I was busy which is why I was make an online enquiry - they would call back. I dont want you to call back - I want to see the quotes you promised! So tired of these comparison companies who steer you toward their best commission outcome. Its certainly not about the consumer. Dont bother!
