HOLDEN COMMODORE OMEGA 3 STATION WAGON
Love the power and size, sleek look inside and out. Lots and lots of leg room front and back of car and boot.
With continued and regular servicing which it has had, the car will continue to run smoothly.
Although v6 the gas is completely affordable, a nice alternative to gas guzzlers.
I can't fault anything on this car, love it!!

Cheap and disappointing
First, let me qualify my review: I bought my 2010 VE Series II Berlina wagon at auction with 266,000kms on it. I have since added another 12,000kms.
Equipment:
- 3.0L V6 engine (Omega and Berlina only got 3.0L)
- 6 speed automatic
- Leather interior (I'm sure it's fake. It's horrible)
- 6 speaker stereo
- Colour touchscreen media centre with Bluetooth connectivity
- Climate control (dual zone)

Lovely car to drive, handles well and has plenty of power. Great family car with room for everyone, you can even put the doggies in the back! It has leather interior that is easy to clean and the seats are so comfortable. VE II SV6 is sleek and smooth
Great Australian car. The Series II SV6 has excellent handling in both wet and dry conditions. Its steering is true and cruising at highway speeds is very smooth, comparable with cars geared more towards touring than performance. The interior is modern, clean, and has everything you need in a car. Seats are extremely comfortable. Solid reliability with parts readily available and the trade off to the 3.6L V6 engine is running costs are higher than the average sedan.

Reliable Great Car.
I've had a ve commodore for years and years. Very reliable and haven't had to spend any money on it. Drives great. Very comfortable. Great fuel consumption when driving on the highway. Great car and I would highly recommend it. Looks great and costs next to nothing to run. Engine has plenty of power as well. Couldn't fault the car at all. Been the best car I've ever owned.

Honest, reliable, relatively cheap motoring.
I bought my 2010 series one VE Omega in December 2016, with 134,000km on the clock. 12 months and 38,000km later, I can say it has provided safe, relatively economical and trouble-free transportation for my 100km daily work commute.
I bought the vehicle from a used car dealer for $8900 on the road. The paperwork in the owners handbook suggested it was an country ex-fleet car, and had up-to-date dealer stamped log books - something that I have continued into my ownership.
The interior space is a big draw in the Commodore. Rear passengers have a...Read more
massive amount of rear leg room, front passenger and driver are adequately catered for. It has much more space than the TJ Magna that replaced it, which itself had ample room. The interior decor, however, in base Omega trim is very dour and drab. Grey - grey everywhere. The seats are comfortable enough, I rarely have experienced pain or tiredness resulting from discomfort. The side trim on the seat base, however, is prone to breaking off. Connectivity technology is well and truly a product of the times. No bluetooth streaming - only a poor-performing call-only Bluetooth in fact - and an auxiliary jack. Fortunately this is enough to keep connected and entertained on the road. Motoring along, suspension is a little soft (but that could more be 170,000km on old or original components), this is improved somewhat with the fitment of 18" wheels and lower profile tyres. The engine has plenty of power, but the torque is underwhelming. This, and the transmission is definitely a combination more geared toward fuel economy than down low torque. It will struggle handling a modest incline without shifting back to fifth or even fourth. The trade off is decent fuel economy. I get on average a displayed figure of 8.2l/100km in the instrument cluster (which in reality is more a calculated figure of ~8.7L/100km), or 800km+ per tank on mostly highway commuting.Purchased in December 2021 for $8,900.00.

fantastic car
This was my dream car and it has lived up to every expectation.
It looks smart and drives great.
i recently drove from south australia to horsham victoria on half a tank of petrol which i think is brilliant.
There is a bit of a blind spot on the sides of the front window but i have learnt to adjust the way i check for cars and it is perfect.

Ok Family car
When I first picked up my ve sv6 I was over the moon. It didnt last long. Commodores are well known for getting tail happy and the ve is no exception in auto taking corners in the very wet felt like taking my life in my hands even with good tires. Then the abs module went then the remote locking. I will say having also driven a vf the steering on the ve is much better . The sidi is marketed for better fuel consumption but it was much higher then expected city driving and not flash on highway.

Problems - I Honestly Ask Myself "Why All The 4 Star Reviews, When These Cars Have So Many Problems"
Having radio problems as security has locked anyone out from resetting the radio.
Replaced the battery, as per the handbook instructions and haven't been able to get into the radio since.
The handbook mentions that for a simple battery change, the radio should be okay, ie when the ignition is turned on the computer should pick up the VIN and march it to the factory fitted radio.
However this is not the case.
Another trip to Holden...

Great looking car. It has plenty of power and more than enough torque. Fuel efficiency is very economical and very easy to maintain . Overtaking performance is exceptional.
Interior need upgrades or changes, so something else should replace black plastic and dark upholstery. The car performs very well and is a pleasure to drive.

So Far So Good
I purchased this car second hand. And Appart from some scuffs and minor dints from the usuial culprits and some minor wear n tear on the apolstry the car performs very well and is a pleasure to drive. No problems with the electrics as was the as with my previous 60th Annaversary Sportwagon. It does need new front shock absorbers as the left hand side is shot.

Love
Very smooth ride, the car barely makes any noise on the freeway. They don't do too bad on petrol either. I love the interior, the wheel is nice and comfy to hold and everything is easy to find. It is very comfy inside, loads of room for the whole family. It fits my son's car seat very well and isn't cramped or anything. Very spacious boot in the sedan but I do wish you could put all of the back seats down. The series II models are a lot more reliable than the first series, in yet to have mine need anything major fixed. A full tank of petrol is around $80 and lasts 600km. I'd recommend this car to anyone looking for a family car or just a car with lots of room.

Perfect Car
Purchased this vehicle second hand and instantly feel in love. It drives well and handles like a dream, much better than any other standard SUV or family car. Features are awesome, it has adaptive headlights, cruise control, LED speedometer screen and much more than cars even 5 years newer do not have.

Worst commodore I have ever owned!
The car is a comfortable car to drive and it looks good but the engine is absolutely terrible. I have had the timing chain replaced TWICE in less than 4 years that I have owned it, it's going back to the mechanic next week as it's showing up fuel bank faults. Will definitely be looking at buying a Ford or Subaru as soon as I can.

So I have a ve omega 08 model.
Today as I was driving the alternator warning come up on the dash followed by a battery warning msg. Soon after the dash lost all power and the radio went off the aircon went off but the car was running fine.
Pulled over and turned the car off and now won't start..
Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance
2 answers
Most likely the alternator belt has come off or broken. Car ran for a while on the battery alone, then shut down what isn't necessary. Once you shut the engine off, there was not enough battery charge to start it.
Now, does it crank? (I guess not).
I assume you are not still on the roadside broken down? If so, call NRMA or RAC or whoever.
Get a jump start from another battery or car or jump starter. Once it starts, check the dash for the battery light.
You will need to drive to the nearest garage, auto electrician of maybe Kmart auto. Any of these can check the belts, battery and alternator.
Thanks for the reply.was heading out with a trailer I'll try jumping it first .
