I know exactly what this will be it is your DFI module it’s the rectangle thing that sits under your coil packs I bet if you jiggle the wire coming out of it then it’ll start just get a new DFI module mate or ask a mate if they have one so you can save money

My car is serviced every 6 months and when its needed. Oil change and saftey check. It is an automatic 2002 VY Commodore executive. I see all the fluids are checked each time but I queried why its never had a transmission oil change with my mechanic at the 130,000 km service and he looked at the fluid again in front of me, because its really tricky for me to get those dipsticks out and said 'it doesnt need one' I feel something odd about this Its a second car I do short trips with no towing or high incline drives but something tells me even with the new Ecotech a car should have a transmission oil change .. can anyone please help point me in the right direction.. I dont really want to go elsewhere because he does the job and doesnt charge the earth but very short lipped I have to query everything

Hey everyone. A little while ago (six to eight weeks) I bought my partner a Calais vy 04 S2 . I didn't notice at the time and I've been looking around for a simple answer and thought I'd try here before going to the local dealer, it has the toe pack (I believe the 22k one ) and has air bags in the rear I know where the vavle is but how do I cheak pressures ? Is it just like a tire and I cheak, inflate and deflate throw the vavle or are there controls some where ? Thanks. Nathan

If you know where valve is, yes you can go to servo and check pressure like you do tyres. I fitted air bags inside the coil springs in my vy ute. The valve is connected for each air bag at the goose neck on my towbar. it is set at low pressure of around 10psi and if i want to lift rear of ute increase the pressure slightly, you will see it lift as more pressure goes into the valve.

Where is the Fuel filter on a VY Calais? It's using more fuel and lacking in performance, if not started for a few days it idles rough for about a minute, bringing the revs up it smooths out, back to idle it's rough like missing for about 1 minute.
Mechanic told me it could be a leaky injector. Supercheap man said the fuel filter? Ran a premium fuel system cleaner through it, fuel consumption improved a bit, so did power though supercheap man said not to run back to back fuel system cleaners?

Hey all, i have a 2003 vy. Im planning on doing all my tint tomorrow. Ive taken all door cards of already, but my issue is. Im not 100% sire how to get the windows out. Or would you suggest just leaving them in and do the tint that way. Thanks in advance

You're keen! You might end up causing more problems than it's worth by trying to take the windows out.
The professional tinters that I've seen just pop the door window trims off and carefully cut around the windows shape, giving a great job without the chance of breaking too many things.

A hairdryer should expand the plastic enough to properly remove the cap/ unlock it from the threads. If all else fails, your mechanic should be able to remove it.

Auto or manual? Condition eg paint, colour, kms travelled, service history, mods and inclusions, type of tyres/rims on vehicle will determine price. Manual very rare 200k, well maintained 7-8k; Auto 1-5k.

The dipstick is at the back of the engine bay on the drivers side, has a red leaver you flip up to remove the dipstick. Check as always when the engine/tranny are at operating temp, idling in Park.

You could have a fault within the electrics. Perhaps you could try to get the car to a holden australia workshop or perhaps a reasonable auto electrician workshop may be able to help

Hi there, i have a 2003 VY Holden Commodore. It was starting without a problem until i replaced the radiator, it now winds over by won't start. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.

Just because you changed the radiator - it doesn't necessarily mean that it's got anything to do with the radiator or even the tubes - the re fit could have loosened something. It might be a good idea to have the car looked at by a competent professional at the holden australia workshop or even a mechanical repairs. servicing workshop or if the problem turns out to be an electric fault then perhaps a auto electrician workshop may be able to help.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. I was wondering if the pedal arm might be rubbing on the harness or something. Really just trying to narrow it down before I go pulling things apart. Cheers

With today's cars basically being run by onboard computers it could be any number of faults - I'd recommend you take the car to a Holden Australia workshop or possibly even a mechanical repairs and servicing workshop - if the problem is with the electrics then perhaps a auto electrician shop such as ultratune or kmart tyres and auto might be able to help

brian
brian

Ultratune are experts at diagnosis and repairs of faults - it could even be even contaminated fuel - you might even get lucky and all your car needs is a simple tune up
