I have a Hyundai i30 2011 which I bought second hand 4 years ago. Recently my dash lights turn off intermittently - everything else appears to work but all lights on the speedometer/tachometer/odometer not working. When I have taken my car to mechanic or auto electric the problem can’t be replicated and therefore not resolved! Does anyone have ideas of what could be going wrong?

I have a hyundai i30 1.4 petrol. Now and again when I start my car (it cranks to start every time) it takes several attempts for it to actually come on and when it does finally fire up my esp off light stays on and my rev gauge doesn't work and sounds like I've lost power. Or it revs it self. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Sam. I'm not a mechanic but it would seem as if the fuel is not getting through properly ? Definitely be taking your i30 for a service. Cheers

Where can I down load the i30 fd-01 sx 2011 head unit firmware from?

I really don't know.... sorry. the only thing I can suggest is the Hyundai site.
Not much available for general download. Hyundai dealers do it off the main HQ website as it contains all of the info for ECU Nav Mapping, Android Auto software for current models etc. Will possibly need a dealer to do it for you, as there is a chance of rendering the head unit unusable & if it's an ECU issue, the car undriveable.

My 2010 i30cw auto has decided tonight of all nights to not unlock via key or remote. Has anyone got any ideas? I have changed the battery in rhe remote and no sucess

Sounds like the battery in the car could be flat. This usually always will prevent the central locking from activating, but it shouldn't affect the front door on the drivers side as you should be able to open that with the key only. If you can't, then it could end up being a tow to a Hyundai dealer.
Thanks the brother come round this morning and got a door open. Battery had collapsed so new battery and am all good and car is going.
had similar problem with 2013 i30 doors would not lock with remote & sometimes not even with key all I could do was start car again put in drive, put back to park turn off engine changed battery in remote no different after that car would lock after this problem I sold car as dealers not willing to fix.

I have an i30 2011 hatchback. I don't know if this is going to make sense but when I drive sometimes my car does this thing where it jolts back, and recently it's been doing it twice in a row. Sometimes it happens when I'm increasing speed after being stopped at a light and other times it will just happen while I'm driving and maintaining the same speed. Has anyone else had any issues like this?

How large and long is the rear area of the i30 wagon model with the rear seats folded down? Is it possible to sleep in the back, provided you're not too tall? I like to have a wagon that's long enough to sleep in the back for those rare occasions when at festivals, camping trips etc. These don't look as long as other wagons on the market.

Hi Karl,
Thanks for your message, I'm a 6 ft tall woman and I can guarantee to you that it would be an extremely uncomfortable sleep as the seats do not fold down completely flat nor would the space be big enough. Hyundai have a i40 station wagon which is very similar to the i30 and would be a better fit for an impromptu camping situation.
I hope this is helpful.

Hi Karl, sorry only had experience with hatch i30, my suggestion would be to visit a dealer and try one out for fit, l would suggest Elissa is correct.
Have a good look what's in the market Hyundai i40 wagon, i35, but maybe something bigger, like a falcon or commodore station wagon, there a huge range of vehicles out there, but think about what is its main purpose is for, and then what else you won't it to do, camping sleep in etc, good shopping, remember have a look at all costs, servicing, length of warranty etc.
Hi Robert and Elissa,
Thanks for the reply and info. Unfortunately the i40 wagon is a bit too expensive for what it is and for what I need.
I am now looking at a Subaru Outback or Forester, as well as considering a Falcon/Commodore wagon with LPG. Would prefer something that is reasonably small and fuel efficient, which was why I started looking at the small wagon market like the i30, Lancer and Corolla wagon models. However they all seem slightly too short to be suitable. We won't be camping out in it often, but it's definitely handy on those rare occasions when we do. Currently we have a Delica van which is great, but I want to downsize to something more economical and suitable for city driving.

Hi,
Wondering if anyone can HELP???
I have a 2011 i30 Diesel, just tried to reverse out my drive way and I have have no reverse. I have not had a problem with the car!!!
Help please

Sounds a bit like a gear box issue that we had. Loss of reversing power when at an angle, like when coming out of the driveway. Took it Hyundai and they fixed it on warranty

So we've had our I30 since Oct 2011 and it has been kept in new condition from the start but the only thing thats wrong it that if we're driving on the highway and get off and come to a stop the car stop. Why is that? The mechanics don't know what could be causing it as they've said that all the sensors are fine. Can anyone help? Because we just had a service yesterday and everything is good but this problem is still happening... Very confused and annoyed since we brought this car brand new
