Caution: Do not submit service reviews with honesty. These are not anonymous.
I am not sure if this is the right forum to discuss Hyundai service but since the surveys are being sent by Hyundai MC, I think this is the right forum. I took the matter with Hyundai, but so far no response. Have re-sent the email to different departments i.e. customercare and privacy, I do get acknowledgements that they have received the emails but they never address the issue.
Took my Santa Fe to local dealer for annula service and a day after, I got email to submit my review. I was honest and complained about the behaviour of the staff. I...Read more
thought Hyundai will handle the matter carefully by keeping the identity anonymous. Next day I got a call from the staff quoting exact words i write and asked my why I said like that. This is horrible. I am now hesitant to take my car back at the same dealer fearing that they may 'do something' to it. I am not comfortable and raised the concerns to Hyundai directly. There was no indication within the surveys that this information ‘will’ be shared as it is? I might have been extra careful in choosing my words. What are they trying to achieve by this? Are they really interested in having people give honest feedback?Purchased in November 2021.

Great car. Fantastic practicality and sublime engine/transmission
I've had the Santa Fe for about 6 months now. It is a fantastic car. Great diesel engine provides solid torque whenever you need it. The transmission is pretty good if not a little jittery at lower speeds from time to time. Suspension rides maybe a touch firm but nothing to complain about. I particularly enjoy driving the Santa Fe in Sport mode, it becomes a completely different car and can be quick and engaging to drive. Steering provides good feedback. Turning circle is excellent for a car of its size.

le. Boot takes our pram and gear well. Android auto and Apple car play are amazing and the Bluetooth connects every time without drama. I'm a taller guy at 6'4'' and fit comfortable in the front seats (which is a primary consideration for me). The bolstering on the seats could be better for my bigger frame but my wife finds its incredibly comfortable. We've done some longer haul trips and the car travels well with the NVH being pretty good, if not a little intrusive on coarse surfaces. The seats did the job for trips to Mudgee and Melbourne. Can't complain. This is my first Hyundai and I'm pleasantly surprised by the performance and build quality of the vehicle. No squeaks or dash rattles, solid door thunks and good enough mix of softer interior materials (as opposed to hard plastics). Overall the car has been the best all round vehicle we've owned. Practical, comfortable and enjoyable to drive. Highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't not deliver on there promises
Too k vehicle in first service was told not worry about both booking in when purchased and said a
Loan would be provided this didn't happen would even take owner to shops had to wait around for over a hour. They tell people they have fixed price servicing not true fixed price as price varies depending on service interval not like Toyota they have fixed same amount for service intervals for three years

Love it.!
Consistently good. The after sales experience is great. Over 4 years on and not even a Hiccup. Its a great family car especially with the extra seats. Fantastic on fuel. On a long trip i can get fuel consumption down to 6 leters per 100km. The reversing camera is a bit sensitive, you need ti keep it clean.

Pathetic Mileage and No customer support
I have a new Santa Fe Active X (done 600 kms). My car has been recalled for steering assembly. Having called 3 dealerships, they don't have an appointment for me to bring in my car for another month. Am I expected to drive my car around with a faulty steering ???
Also, mileage that my car is giving thus far is only 18.1 ltr/ 100 kms....

Great car, some towing limitation
I have the MY2106 active diesel - YAY for cloth seats (leather is too hot in summer and too cool in winter for Perth)! The diesel is a dream to drive and city mileage is 8.3L/100kms on less than 10km trips - cant ask for better in my opinion.
After buying the car, we changed our habits a bit, and are now towing an offroad camper trailer with about 130kg ball weight. Local Hyundai fitted upgraded springs for $400 to uprate towball max from 100 to 150kg. But the constant need to check the weight ($50 scale needed) and consider how we use th...Read more
e fridge in the camper and how we load it is affecting our freedom to use the camper. Note, that actual towing of the camper is great, highway mileage came to 8.7L/100kms for the 1.2 tonne load. There is the usual wander and need to drive smooth, but it never feels unsafe or wobbly, no load distribution is needed. Big standard mirrors also mean no tow mirrors are needed. In no other way, would I downrate the Santa Fe, the driving and handling, the occassional 7 seat use, 5 year/100000km warranty, perfect for our family of 4.Similar opinion? So much space. Love this car.
I had owned 2 Hyundai's prior to this purchase so we bought this car without even a test drive. When we picked it up, I was so impressed with the variety of modifications that could be made to suit my driving style. The seat can be adjusted up and down, the back seats can be shifted forward and back and I love the reversing camera. It does have a wind noise in the passenger side window which we have brought up twice with the dealer but they have assures us it is just the design of the car and there is nothing that can be done but it does get an...Read more
noying on longer trips. It has great fuel economy (I am a mother of two school aged children, living out of town and generally get about 2 weeks of driving out of a tank of fuel). There is heaps of room and I love the extra seats for little extras that join us from time to time. Overall, very happy with value for money with this car!! Great family car.Similar opinion? OUTSTANDING, EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY
I just brought the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Active MY18 DM5 2.2 CRDi it is the best car I have driven in a long time. What a great vehicle
We have owned the santé fe Diesel for 3months and driven 6000ks and we are astounded at how well it drives on dirt/gravel and sealed roads.Recently went on a week away with loads of luggage and pushbikes over steep and undulating roads in wet and dry conditions and We think its the best drive ever,a very responsive engine with positive steering and plenty of space,we also tow an aluminium boat occasionally which weighs 700kilos .Fuel usage around 7.5 lts per 100k without boat and around 10 lts with, the only slight negative is the road noise on some coarse sealed surfaces.

My first 4wd and would never go back to a small car!
I've owned my Santa Fe for two years now and I love this car! It's a people mover with 7 seats and have made so many memories with the whole family! So spacious and love the comfort on the driver side. When I get in my husbands hatch back now I feel so odd and uncomfortable compared to mine. Highly recommend!

Brilliant SUV with great comfort and excellent performance
Purchased this SUV to tow our camper trailer and it has been great. When not towing it does well around tow and handles well on country roads. Feels solid and comfortable on long trips. The 6spd auto transmission is we ll mated to the 2.2 diesel and always is in the right gear for the task. It even down shifts as your slowing down. The interior has plenty of space and comfortable seating. The Active and Active X models represent great value. Only down side to the interior is the seats could have been a darker colour and the doors scuff easily...Read more
. So far no issues and is a pleasure to drive. Average around 650-750km out of a 60 litre tank around tow. I havent yet had a chance to see what the Santa Fe will return on a highway stint. Although it has been easily to drop to 6.5 litres on the highway. Purchased from Essendon Hyundai who offered outstanding service and were not pushy with a sale.Similar opinion? Love this car!
This is a great car for the family. We can put three car seats across the back seat (although it would be nice to be able to put them in the back row, but no anchors). We use both traditional and isofix anchors.
Leg room is fine for a tall family.
We ran out of boot space on holidays, so invested in a pod on roof racks. But for day to day i can throw the pram and multiple scooters in the boot easily.
Mechanically never missed a beat and i was suprised how cheap it is to run on diesel.

Love my new Active!
Plenty of room, very stylish and lots of safety features for the base model. Kids love the separate air con in the third row of seats. The third row is great for children but I wouldn't want to squeeze in there myself.
I find it very economical around the city and it is lovely to drive.

Santa fe 2013 Steering Problem- hyundai has no solution
the steering problem is that the vehicle wanders from left to right.
1. There seems to be no feel of a center.
it is a continous battle whenever the vehicle goes to the left or right.
2. Driving at a speed of 70 and above is unsafe.
without the feel of center you have to mastered the control of wandering.
3. e-mailed hyundai customer care
The feel of care is only thru words....its just a way to empathize with the customer.

Great value of money: great for family
Great fuel consumption, very spacious for my family, two rear seats even tall persons can fit; I checked other options for 7 seater (as sometimes my parents to go with us).I checked Nissan xtrail but the rear seats did not have enough space only my little kids could fit in, while Mazda had petrol engine having massive fuel consumption, finally chose Hyundai santa fe diesel. It did not disappoint me, it's 2013 and travelled 90k still drive like new, interior very solid still looks quite new.
My family love space inside.
Driving very smooth, excellent pick, AC works good, great looking exterior.
One thing disappointed me, my active model does not have GPS so I use my phone.
Other than this is am quite satisfied.

Great family car; value for money; jack of all trades
Went for the active petrol auto as they had drive away special on this model (2015 - petrol only). The performance for the first 5000km or so was adequate (considering aus low speed limits). As the km's ticked away the powerplant came alive and now after 16,000km it is actually a pleasant, free revving unit. For what I paid driveaway, I believe it was a bargain considering 7 seats, awd, airbags (at the back- curtain) and auto transmission. The petrol is really a quiet unit and smoot to drive. Select manual shift and it really goes. Sure, it doe...Read more
sn't have the torque of the diesel, but after a while you know where it delivers it's best- 3rd and 4th from around 2800rpm to around 5500rpm and beyond is a pleasant surprise. When towing 6th gear is more of an overdrive than anything else - I towed a 1600kg caravan plus kit plus 2 kayaks on the roof for over 3500km recently and the Santa fe delivered. 5th gear is great for towing and 4th gear, if needed is really strong. I have taken it offroad as well - nothing serious but included a few boggy beach sand drives and no issues - I'm yet to get stuck! I switch to 4wheel lock and traction control off when driving on sand. The only modification I made to the vehicle was a roof rack (rhino hd for 100kg capacity and better width than the factory item) and the Hyundai "load assist" springs - which is just stiffer springs at the rear which affectively raises the tow bar limit (down force) from 100kg to 150kg. It had no effect on the handling and I don't even notice it, but defiently worthwhile as you don't get much of that sagging affect ehen loading up at the back. The 17 inch tyres as fitted standard to the Active variants is also the better option for off roading compared to the lower profile of the Elite and Highlander. In terms of fuel consumption, I avg around 10-11km around town and drops as low as 8.5 on the open road. When towing, depending on the speed expect 16-17km/L (for a caravan). Pros: smoothness of drivetrain combination / space / practical / features (value for money) Cons : lacks torque of diesel / 185mm ground clearance / 150kg tow ball limit limits towing ability, even if you go for the diesel manual... Small info screen on Active. Sorry for the spelling mistakes guys - I realise now I can't go back and edit unless deleting all my sentences...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Activ Rear Differential - Is it time for a recall?
We own a Hyundai Santa Fe Activ which we purchased as a demonstrator that had done only a few hundred kilometres, in June 2013. The vehicle now has 58,000 kms on the clock.
This car did not give us any trouble until just recently. In the space of a couple of months, when the car had only done 53,000 kms, the compressor in the air conditioner failed. Much more seriously, the viscous coupling, which transfers drive to the rear differential, failed and the rear differential itself was completely ruined and had to be replaced.
The last ...Read more
two failures could not have happened at a worse time. We were part-way through a touring holiday in the Northern Territory. We were driving along the Stuart Highway, fortunately without pulling our caravan, when we heard a loud “bang” and the car lost all traction. After pulling over, we could not get the car to move. After a long wait in the heat, the car was finally transported, first to Katherine, where we were staying, and then to the nearest Hyundai dealership which was in Darwin. We then had to wait five weeks for the damage finally to be repaired. But that is another story, a story that will also be told in a separate review. Fortunately, all these repairs were covered by the warranty. But that is hardly the point. It is not reasonable to expect a car to experience such catastrophic failure so early in its life. During the five weeks that the car was in the workshop, despite persistent efforts on our part, we were not given any definite advice as to what had actually gone wrong and why. We were simply told that the viscous coupling had to be replaced. We were then advised that it was only after this had happened that a leak in the rear differential was noticed. It was then discovered that the rear differential had to be replaced.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
