badly designed or badly manufactured: failed suddenly and catastrophically.

    published

Agam chair, bought in UK, wood colour, made in Belarus: always seemed like a bad design to me from first installation when the skew screws that fit the legs to the underside of seat are at an excessively shallow angle and thereby spalled to plies apart. But it held together so we used it for years, until today it catastrophically failed when a leg disconnected from the seat. DANGEROUS.

    Purchased in January 2021.

Red painted version - possibly unsafe

    published

The painted version uses a different wood from the unpainted version. The wood of the painted version is very soft and the screws could not tighten in some areas which means it can loosen very easily and can be unsafe. We constructed one chair, found this issue and exchanged it for another. The 2nd also had the same problem. We complained to Ikea and they said they would do a safety report which after 2 months we still have not received.

    Excellent high chair

    published

Made of solid wood material, not those cheap plastic! Simple classic looking and comfy to sit on. Easy to assembly. Ikea should seriously bring these high chairs back. My guest mistaked it for a bar stool and sat on it a few times. It was able to withstand adult weight very well and did not even break!
