A2017asked
Why is it after only a few shakes (we have not shaken it rigorously), the formula gets super frothy with lots of air bubbles? We have to let it sit for a very long time before some of the air bubbles go away and can give it to our bub. We've shook it the same way we have with other formulas and not had the same issue. Just want to know we haven't purchased a bad batch

Bunasked
Why the lactose from cows milk in your ingredients? Also would be interested to understand why only 43% goat milk solids? Can I interpret your statement that "goats milk is a characterising ingredient" to mean that cow milk intolerant infants should not use?
1 answer
Nutricia Careline T.Karicare+
Hi Bun,
In the Karicare Goat 1 lactose from cows milk is used to add carbohydrate content as Goat milk lactose is not available. The Goat milk solid content is formulated to ensure that the product meets the FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand) requirements for nutritional content as safe for babies. Cows' milk and goat milk proteins are 92.5% cross reactive, so you are correct in assuming that the Karicare Goat is considered medically unsuitable for babies with a reaction to cows milk protein. We always recommend that you discuss infant feeding choices with your Health Care Professional but feel free to give us a ring on our toll-free number 1800 258 268 and one of our Dietitians or Nutritionists will be happy to assist you further.
Thanks - Karicare

My baby is 3 months he throws up all the time cries with his tummy, would this help him?
2 answers
This is hard to answer as every baby is different. I tried so many formulas because she was constipated and unsettled. She never vomited though. It was very good for her tummy, much less grizzling and much happier. You should ask doctor or paed if his vomiting doesn't get better.
I have definitely found this formula better than any full cows milk formula, but maybe jist confirm that there arent any traces of cow products as my daughter was highly reactive to any cow products! My third seems happier on this product but some changes in his stools for prolonged use - i only use this as an occasional supplement, which is a bonus that i can otherwise feed in between. It must be hard balancing feeds when its the sole nutrition, my best wishes.

mumma kasked
Hi, just wondering what's the difference in ingredients are for the goats formula stage 1 and 2?
1 answer
Nutricia Careline T.Karicare+
Hi MummaK,
With our Karicare Goat range the main differences between the stages is an increase in vitamins/minerals and protein which are age appropriate. This increase is why the stage 2 is not appropriate for babies under 6months There are other differences with the Karicare Nourish (cow's milk) range. Please give us a ring on our toll-free number 1800 258 268 or email [email protected] and one of our healthcare professionals will be happy to assist you with any other questions.

Baby has been on Aptamil AllerPro. We want to try goat's milk but baby does not like the taste. He frowns everytime! Can we mix this with another milk product of Karicare (i.e regular Karicare milk) so baby will drink it? Need feedback ASAP!

Don't mix formula. Even if it's the same brand. EVER. Karicare has a help line you can call.
I have no idea. Didn't try aptamil. Never mixed. Im sure it wont hurt. But remember babies are all different - he might not like Goat's milk?

I need to find goats milk, 3 formula for over 12 months, none of the stores stock it, as no demand, how can I order on line ?
3 answers
Try the chemist warehouse site :)
Nutricia Careline T.Karicare+
As the supply of the Karicare Goat Toddler milk stage 3 is unreliable, Australian supermarkets and pharmacies have chosen not to stock it and unfortunately we are no longer sending it to stockists in Australia. Please call us at the Careline on 1800 258268 if you would like to discuss what milk may be best (and available) for your little one.
Kristin (Careline Dietitian)
myshopping.com.au has it but I would imagine it would not be reliable to order and have it in time if your stocks run low... have you considered just putting your toddler on plain goats milk as they are now 12 months and I would imagine they are already having 3 meals of solids a day so may not require all the added nutrients of the formula?
Heather Readasked
Would the goats milk formula suit my son who is three months old? The reason I ask is because he has come out with eczema and possible asthma, I was put on goats milk as a child due to the same problem although I was about 4 years old at the time. Would the goat baby formula be better for my son rather than cows mild formula and perhaps relieve these symptoms.
2 answers
Hi Heather ! He could be milk protein intolerant. Have a google and look at the symptoms. My naturopaths and ped told me goats milk was the closet thing to breast milk. I haven't had any problems on it: and as you can read from my post I tried allot of formulas. After I swapped him I found out my dad was on goats milk growing up as well as my best friend. You can only try, if you don't see any improvement have a look at this site. I was on it this morning having a read !
https://www.mja.com.au/journal/2008/188/2/guidelines-use-infant-formulas-treat-cows-milk-protein-allergy-australian
Every baby is different and you will get the know it all mothers telling you to just give it time. But you no when your bub isn't happy. Have a read of that Site also. Best of luck :)
Heather on that website it talks about eczema and asthma being linked with milk protein intolerance ! Might be worth chatting to your doctor about!
