Am interested to purchase a second hand 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900b Classic from a very reputable dealer, for 6000.-AUD here in Australia. Are there specific weakness or faults to look for in that Motorbike/Cruiser?

Go for it, it's a great bike. Of the numerous bikes I've owned my Vulcan 900 Classic is by far the best. It's only a 5-speeder so I lifted the gearing by fitting a 2-tooth bigger front pulley & that's made a world of difference at freeway speeds. The standard seat is a bit uncomfortable on longer rides so an aftermarket one is a good bet too.

Thank you, very helpful answer.

Just a further thought - the price is on the high side but if the bike is in great condition, with low kms & full service history it could be worth it but I'd still negotiate on price.

Hi Mark - I don't believe the bike has changed mechanically since my model, only cosmetics, colour etc. So if you read up on the 2012 model, & there are several Aussie & overseas writeups, you'll get a good insight into the current model. Hope that helps. Cheers, David

How do you correct low speed wobbly front end?

Hi - first I'd check the condition of the front tyre; is it "feathered", chunks out of it, correctly fitted & correct direction of rotation? Also check your tyre pressures (I run 31 psi front/35 psi rear) & that the front axle is secure. Check the tightness of the handlebar risers. Hope those suggestions help! Cheers, David

I am planning to buy a kawasaki vulcan 2010 900 classic which has done 2200k on the clock I just want to know if there vill be any issues price 6400$ including rwc and transfer

Hi Niru. There should be no issues with the bike with so low km's, Main t5hing to look for is signs of any rust as build quality not the best on the plating. Also any signs of being dropped with scratches on exhausts etc. They are easy to drop when manoeuvring around the garage etc but once riding very stable and a pleasure to ride. Good luck with your purchase Keith

The stator will fail in all VN900s made before 2013 due to a hot oil issue. I have had a 2006 model and now have 2 2014 models. Great bike apart from the stator.

Any one having trouble with front end wobble?

Hi. Never had issue with front end wobble, front always well planted. rear prone to tracking on surface ruts or white lines but not bad. Did ride a custom with front end wobble but mine was a classic. Have moved on to a Harley but to be honest ride and performance no better than Kawasaki.

It is usually caused by low air pressure in the front tyre.

Has the vibration above 70 km been corrected by kawasaki for 2007's?

Hi. I had no vibration at all. I did try a custom model before buying the 900B and felt some vibration through the bars but not bad. Loved the Kawasaki but life is short so now ride a new CBR1000RR but at times miss the cruiser.

Are their any problems with the 900 classic?

Hi. I certainly did not have any issues. Overall the best value bike I have owned. Some of the Crome work not as good as a Yamaha but quality far better than a similar Suzuki. As with all cruisers I have rode the back end can be upset by grooves in the road surface and they are a little heavy when not moving but thats cruisers.
