Severe rust paint falling into food
While eating our soup we noticed what looked like metal shavings. Upon closer inspection we noticed our Panasonic microwave was rusted out on the ceiling around the vents with paint peeling off and falling into food. We don’t know how long this has been happening for but now have serious concerns how long we have been eating paint.

Not well designed. Condensation. Uneven heating.
Bought the 1100w NN-ST665B model about 9 months ago to replace another Panasonic Microwave where the bottom had become rusted after 3 years. Stayed with Panasonic as we wanted the trim kit around the oven.
This model has been disappointing.
Cook timing: It's frustrating that cook times always have to be in multiples of 10 secs. Until you get one of these you don't realise how often you want to warm something up for maybe 15 or 25 secs etc - so you have to stand there and stop it at the right time.
Condensation: With our previous microwave, if...Read more
there had been condensation build up in the oven the fan kept going after cooking was finished to dry it out. This model doesn't do that and we are forever having to mop out condensation from the inside if it's been running for say 5 mins or longer. And it doesn't heat food as evenly as the previous microwaves we have had - this is very noticeable when re-heating a meal or similar. The only positive is it has an inverter which works ok. But would not recommend this microwave because the the problems mentioned above.

You mentioned rust in the last microwave and a lot of build up of condensation in this unit, this could be due to the location of the unit and the possibility there isn't anywhere for this to escape. terrible microwave
I bought this microwave on May 2022. In October 2022 it short circuited the kitchen a few times. I took to the repair person (recommended by Panasonic). They replaced the inverter unit. In Nov. 2022 it did again, it repair it and replace the inverter unit. In March 2020 it did it again, it short circuited the kitchen. After a long discussion with Panasonic they advise me to take the microwave the same repair person. No refunds and no new microwave. I have decided to purchase a new microwave and leave behind the nightmare of purchasing another Panasonic. Buyers beware! Panasonic do not treat customers very well.

Shocking worst microwave shame of Panasonic
Though we bought this microwave for two and half years, we only started to use it around one and half years ago and used it not more than twice a week. We maintained this unit in a good condition. However, due to the faulty inverter PCB, the microwave kept tripping the circuit breaker. Panasonic denied warranty repair due to the cost.
What a shame that the quality of Panasonic has plummeted. Never buy any more Panasonic products. Sharing this information to alert the prospective buyers.

Perfect microwave
We have always had Panasonic microwaves and loved them. We recently purchased the Panasonic NN-ST665B and are extremely happy with it. It fits perfectly in the allocated area and is very user friendly. It comes with a great manual which also includes some great recipes.

This microwave has pros and cons
The best thing about this microwave is that it doesn't have that annoying 'cool down' function that many modern microwaves have, which means less noise and less running time. I find all microwaves heat food unevenly and this one unfortunately is no different. The defrost setting works very well, much better than our previous microwave which would cook things on the edges. The size is plenty for what we need and it looks quite stylish. We did find it annoying though that just a few days after buying it, the plastic surface of the buttons started...Read more
bubbling and puckering. This ruins the look of it. Surely this would be a simple fix Panasonic? The interior light also stopped working quite early on. If these minor things could be fixed it would be a great microwave. Also, be aware that air is expelled from the side vents quite strongly during use and we have issues with it affecting our gas burners which are right alongside.Purchased in September 2021 at Harvey Norman for $250.00.

next to a gas burner. This heat could cause issues for your microwave as well as the gas burner.Hi, thanks for replying. We did remove the temporary plastic cover - the problem is with the button pad itself. I took a photo but can't seem to upload it with this comment. The microwave is about 20-30cm away from the stove top - is that enough?

Hi Zee, with the heat that can be generated from a stove top, we would recommend further distance from it. You can email photos to [email protected]

GREAT MICROWAVE
I purchased this microwave in December 2018 and I'm very happy I bought it, I mainly use it for boiling rice/pasta, reheating, defrosting rather than cooking food. It's easy to use and the functions I use regularly reheat and defrost really well. My previous microwaves cavities used to rust out and we were told by a salesperson the cavity in this particular microwave is more rust resistant because it's made of something different(I can't remember what it is).
The only small issue is the light inside isn't very bright so it can be a bit hard to see inside but I would recommend it and I would purchase another one again.

Hi Karen, thanks for taking the time to provide the feedback on your microwave. You will notice the difference with the newer LED light which is what you are making reference too with it being a bit darker internally.

Works well and good internal capacity
This microwave has a good internal capacity and large plate, even thought the exterior dimensions, compared to other microwaves with the same capacity, is quite compact. Its quiet, heats evenly and easy to use. Looks good too! Happy with this product.

Reliable product
I bought this microwave from Harvey Norman during the boxing day sale and for the price paid, this is a great product. It has inverter technology so it heats up the food evenly and also is a perfect size to fit into the built in microwave cabinet in our new kitchen. It has a sleek, black modern look and would suit well in any kitchen design.

Mostly happy
Bought this microwave a week ago as other one ( another brand died ) after 4 months. Looks great and cooks well for what we need, there are 2 things that are annoying 1: You can't add time and once your food is cooked and you go to put something else in you have to press stop/ cancel before you can cook again.2: The most annoying thing is the light inside is so small that you can't see what's cooking inside which is not great when cooking gravy or sauces as you can't see if its going to boil over. I do like that it is fairly quiet when cooking and when when you open and close its not as loud and clunky as some.

Decent microwave
Have had his for six months now and it's performed okay. Food is sometimes unevenly heated but most microwaves have this problem anyway, all that I've owned anyway. Doesn't have the automatic fan feature after microwaving so you don't have to deal with the loud fan noise afterwards and can just close it up right after use.

It was ok, no longer.
It would be good if it had 5 second increments on the timer, with the 10 second timer, everything you put at the front of the unit finishes at the rear. This is a replacement model as my previous model failed. I have to write eight more words, almost done.
It's now July 2022, and this warranty replacement has begun to only work intermittently, you put something inside, set the level and timer, push the start button and nothing happens. It takes several attempts before the turntable starts, other times it starts without any problems. I think this will be the last Panasonic microwave that we purchase, they're too unreliable. Given that we've been away for 6 weeks, this replacement model has worked for less than 6 months before playing up.
Purchased in April 2021.

Perfect kitchen helper
This microwave is perfect as my kitchen helper and heats evenly, I do not need to watch everything that I reheat every time, it is just perfect in operation, easy to see buttons and easy to use without even resorting to reading the manual, I would recommend because it is reliable and easy in operation.

Its a Microwave
Purchased to replace a Breville Microwave that burnt out after two years. Originally bought another one, however, when we got it home it sounded like a jet taking off when in use so we went back and bought this on recommendation from the sales assistant. It is a good microwave and relatively quiet. One annoyance is that you can not add time while it is going, you have to press stop/cancel to add time.

Faultt
The door does not sit flush with the unit. As a result steam is released during use, creating condensation. As such, water pools around the top of the door and the unit. Noticed same fault on display models after purchase, however we did not bother taking it in to be fixed before our warranty ran out due to our experience with customer service and their obsession with blame. Would not recommend. Will be replacing with different brand

Great microwave
We purchased this microwave to replace another one that wasn't running correctly.
This Panasonic microwave looks sleek and modern and fits well into our kitchen with the black design, even though we only have silver appliances, it has enough silver to fit in.
Run's well and the sensor reheat function works perfectly.
I can't comment on the cooking functions as we really only use it for re-heating.
The only 2 negatives I have would be that it is very dark inside when running, but this doesn't bother us as we really don't stand and stare ...Read more
at the food, again we only reheating. Also like other people have said the one annoying thing is once the cycle is done, you cannot start another cycle until you press stop/cancel... So when its done we press stop/cancel straight away so next time we go to use it its ready to go. A quick start feature is missing too, i.e. when u put something in and press nothing but start and u get 30 seconds or so.. But even without the quick start and the stop/reset issue its still highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very happy with this
Our old microwave died so I did some research and found that the Panasonics had good bang for your buck, plus the inverter technology which seems specific to Panasonic.
We've had this unit for a few months and generally very happy with it.
We are a family of 5 and use the microwave very frequently, mainly to reheat leftovers. We haven't defrosted or cooked any food using it, so can't comment on how well it performs in that respect.
At my office we have a similar unit (Panasonic NN-ST641W) which is slightly lower in the lineup and I was set o...Read more

BEEP, Beep, beep!
I have only had this microwave for a very short time and so far so good. All in all it does what it is designed to do. It reheats well & cooks evenly. It seems to be well made & is a sturdy unit & a good weight to pick up. The unit itself is quite quiet by my standards. The light inside is a bit dim & I'm not sure if the bulb needs to be brighter or if the light itself needs to be re-positioned inside the unit. This doesn't actually bother me too much but I can understand it may be cause for concern for some as you can't always see whats happe...Read more
ning inside. This model does not have a 'cooling period' after using which I consider a huge plus. HOWEVER - there is one thing that I dislike and that the constant beeping & the fact that the beeping itself it a bit too loud for my liking. This is due to not having a numeric keypad so if you want to reheat for 40 secs you have to press 4 x 10 sec (4 beeps), then the unit beeps 4 times when it is finished. THEN you have to press 'stop' to re-set before you can start using again (another beep). Honestly - it drives in insane! I don't think I would consider buying another unit (regardless of make) that did not have a numeric keypad. I know this review may sound a bit negative & this is not my intention as I know many would not see this as a problem. Panasonic has always been a reliable brand & synonymous with good quality products & apart from a couple of minor distractions shall we say, I would recommend this as a very viable microwave. August 19th 2022 Update: So far so good I purchased this microwave last year as a replacement and it has worked well so far. I use it mainly for defrosting, reheating, cooking rice & pasta but not much else. I wanted to be able to put a normal dinner plate in it and there is ample room to do this and have a large container in it when cooking pasta & rice. I found the interior light a bit dull compared to my previous microwave but have gotten used to it. It's no noisier than any other microwave I've ever had and heats items up quickly and efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this model to any one looking for a good versatile microwave. And if that isn't enough ..., it looks good too!Purchased in April 2021 at Myer Retail Stores for $231.20.
