Koss Porta Pro
I have had many headphones including a grado but this is one of the best headphones i have ever used. Superb sound, great clarity and you could hear the rhythm guitars cleanly. sadly my wife threw it away thinking it was an old headphone from the 70s which I had seemingly kept. Never forgave her for that.

Amazing sound for $50-$60. In face, amazing sound in general. Super compact too, so great for travel. The only real thing to consider when buying them is that these are open back headphones, meaning the opposite of noise cancelling. You can hear well around you (good for running) and others could hear what you are listening to a bit (if you have it loud on a train or library).

Okay, first things first, these are very good sounding headphones for the money, they are a lot like the Sennheiser PX2's in that respect (I prefer the PX II's 'slightly) and you won't really find better quality for the money.
I jog with mine exclusively and I found that where the cable comes out of each ear would rattle on the case when jogging and you could hear it so I had to get some silastic and just plug the hole so it wouldn't rattle. That fixes that issue. The one that I am still working on is where the pivot point for the ear cups t...
Read moreouches the outer fixed piece that the band connects to (which catches your hair if you are not too careful). I think a few pieces of strategically placed foam will fix it but I am still investigating. So overall for the price you cannot complain they are a very good unit and I don't think you will be upset if you bought them. Are they perfect? No, are they good value for money? Certainly!- 9 reviews

I have tried many types of headphones over the years, mostly for music listening, and there has always been a compromise. These headphones look a bit daggy but that is the only issue. They sound great with all sources. a very balanced sound, better IMO than the equivalent Sennheiser (PX 100) which are also very well regarded. You can get a better deal buying from the UK or US via Amazon or Ebay. They can last well if you look after them, the packaging suggests they have a lifetime warrentee but I don't really know what that is worth. Comfortabl...
Read moree adjustable with a detailed (for budget headphones) sound. I listen to Spotify through an Ipod touch and the presentation is very good. I feel quite comfortable wearing them down the park which i would not with my AHM 50. The AHM50 (Audio Technica) are obviously better in most areas but also four times the price. Ultimately I would spend more time listening with the porto pros.
