Simply as above. It is a good car to drive but many of this year are proven to have faulty differentials and Land Rover refuse to replace them under warranty. I have tried very hard with both the dealer and Jaguar Land Rover they are simply not interested, evidently trying to avoid further Claims

LOVE THIS CAR!
Test drove an Evoque diesel and just found it way too slow. Then I tried the Si4 and it was a revelation! Chalk and cheese between pair. The petrol engine model just flies - more like a 4WD Golf GTi. Had it now for over 4 years and apart from having to replace the battery, nothing has gone wrong with it. It's super comfortable and quiet on the freeways and the upgraded Meridian sound system really is a beautiful thing. My only niggles are the infotainment system which can be a bit slow to the touch and also to refresh the stations. The design still looks fresh after all this time. Gets about 8 litres per 100 k's on a country run and about 12 in the city - quite tolerable.

Fell in love the day i brought it still head over heals.
I absolutely adore my RR Evoque. As long as they stay in production I would be happy to buy only this car for the rest of my life!
Awesome sat nav system that remembers where i've been. If I go to a friends house I've never been to before then it is decided its my turn to pick up the local take away my RR will show me where I've been parked an guide me back to the house from the takeaway shop. I can't tell you how many times this has saved me an annoying amount of time.
Centre dash display of nav directions is perfect for any road trip and subtle enough for my passengers to think I know where I am going.
Perfect size, classy exterior and user friendly interior.

Not Disappointed
Have a 2013 SD4, mix of urban and country driving. Fuel use averages around 8.2lt/100km urban and around 6.8lt/100km on a recent drive to Adelaide. No issues at all over the 2.5 years. Love the handling and the looks. Comfortable to be in, even over long drives of 11 hours. Kids find the rear seats quite relaxing, even over long drives.

Still happy after +7 years
I bought the SD4 Dynamic, optioned, as a cancelled order in January 2012. One problem with the rear seatbelt jamming, but repaired under warranty once I had contacted the right person at the dealership. They did give me three years free annual warranty servicing but inundate me with emails to have it serviced every six months but want to charge me for that, I do lowish kilometres so no way. Previous two cars over six years were a Golf GTi Pirelli three door and before that a Golf GTi, so you can see where I was coming from. Performance, fro...Read more
m a diesel, is up there, fuel consumption is not as advertised but close enough and the stated figures do save you the luxury tax, or so I was told. Boot space is about the same as a hatch, but width and height with parcel shelf removed and back seats down is a lot better for moving bulk. Drivers position great, the memory seat settings are indispensable but would be good on the steering wheel as well, does this technology exist though? I can't get over the number of ways to play music, iPod, memory stick, hard drive.... Shame the traffic news update doesn't work in Australia and no DAB radio on my model year, why can't it be part of a software update? Sat nav has that annoying factory fitted omission of no speed zones published, RMS is poor at repeating the speed limit signs on many of our roads. Five surround cameras are useful for getting into a small garage space, auto parking is a scream, I chuckle every time I use it, it puts it in spaces that I would otherwise have driven away from. I have the dual view screen, never used it, but it was part of the cancelled order, the glass panoramic roof is gimmicky, too bright in Australia to use it in the summer months and it doesn't open. Apart from this, the rest of the options have been well used. Overall opinion after almost two years, happy with the car but paid a premium for it. Was it worth it? Yes, I will keep it longer than three years, say six years to break even on ownership costs and will smile every time I get into it. The overall feel good every time I get into it No DAB radio, no traffic speed indicators on expensive sat-nav Update after +7 years of ownership. At the end of the warranty period, I asked the dealer to do a complete fault check on the last service inside the warranty period. Two faults were discovered, including one I had previously asked them to fix. This was done, although the car was kept for an extra day waiting for parts. No complimentary car offered, had to train it home and back. All good in the end though. On 5 years the Evoque was driving well so as a treat I installed an Android box that intercepted and replaced the sat-nav. Since then I have been using Sygic as the sat-nav, using the same buttons to access the software. So good. Last year I replaced the tyres, but went budget as I don't do big kilometres, they are still good tyres though. On +7 years, I now have 80,000km on this car (I spend most time riding my bikes) and one fault needs sorting, no water coming through the rear windscreen washer. I will have this sorted in a service next month. Overall, for a lot of money, the Evoque is lasting the distance, the issues could have happened with any car. Will I change it now? I doubt it, it still drives well and I am guessing the part ex value would not be good.Purchased in January 2021 for $103,000.00.

Range Rover Evoque Reliability
We bought the Range Rover Evoque from new in Aug 2012 and loved the looks and drive. Six months down the track and reliability combined with Land Rover Australia customer care has left us wishing we had bought something else. The first breakdown resulted in roadside assistance. When the tow crew arrived they had not been educated in how to put car in neutral, 3 hours later they managed to tow car away. This breakdown was due to a software error. Three days later and the front lights failed to work this resulted in a close shave with the Police....Read more
Six days later and we have another full break down, luckily the same tow driver and the car is towed away in an hour. This second breakdown resulted in us contacting Land Rover customer care we were told 'car is with garage, what do you expect us to do'....no further updates. Ten days later we get the car back with a new fuel pump and a dent. Contacted Land Rover customer care and again to complain about dent 'what do you expect us to do'.Land Rover has no vehicle condition paperwork, not our problem. The repair garage agreed to cover cost of dent repair. Our total May car ownership resulted in a full 5 days, no loan car, loss of earnings and a lot of inconvenience. So in summary great looks do not always equal a great driving experience. I would never buy another Land Rover. Great looking car Reliability1 comment
Same can be said here, had mine for just under 18 months, already having issues as if have had the car for a few years. Not happy, this is my first brand new car, beside the looks, wish I spent more time researching before spending $$$$.

At long last
After like most people drooling over the "prestige" cars, one the ordinary Joe can afford. The new Range Rover Evoque is very quick and agile. I just purchased a petrol Dynamic after owning the last 3 models of Toyota Prado and I just love it. Truthfully a little small for a family travelling, I have 2 teenagers, however quite adequate if you learn to pack light.
Cabin space is good, boot space not so good. It is great on the highway and around town. If you are planning on buying one take the time to properly plan your vehicle.... I d...Read more
id not add sat nav as I have a portable one, driving out of town for the first time and found out my sat nav will not work in the vehicle due to the windscreen not allowing the signal in. In short I just Love, Love, Love my Evoque!!! Fuel efficiency, agility and stability. Love the fact you can Bluetooth stream music. Small, portable Sat Nav does not work in vehicle and boot space.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Is it common for the gear selector knob to get hot in 2013 model SD4 Dynamic? I have purchased this car secondhand and found the gear selector knob can get quite hot on occasions during a drive in excess of an hour. It does not happen every drive and LR dealer service centre cannot find the cause. I would like to hear from anyone that has similar experience please.

To update my review. The car is now just over 3 years old. I have travelled about 48,000 kilometres taken it on unsealed roads, moved house and put it through most road conditions I can think of.
Reliability - it hasn't broken down once. First warranty issue was the rear passenger, drivers side, seat-belt tensioner. The belt locked after its first use (when the car was about a year old) - quickly fixed under warranty. I had intermittent problems with the electronic parking brake failing at traffic lights, enough for me to cover the brake when using it. I forgot to mention it at the second annual service but did on the third annual service. The dealer hadn't heard of this happening before but checked the error logs in the vehicle and found it when it first occurred, apparently at around 11,000 kilometres, meaning they didn't check the error logs on the first and second services. Sorted under warranty on the third service though. Coincidentally just before the third annual service after driving for 100 kilometres and parking, on leaving the car-park an error message came up, gear-box problem, possible loss of traction. When this was checked, a part had to be ordered, I still had the car back the next day, no charge. Lesson learnt - get the dealer to check the error logs on every service.... Read more
