Rubbish
Would not buy or recommend this machine. Purchased one for $3000 after 5 years (1000 washes) we had to replace the motor. 4 years after it stopped working again this time the power board went. After ringing Miele and complaining that after 9 years we had to replace motor and power board and that it had not lived up to the promise of 20 years of washes all they could offer was 20% of the part. GREAT INVESTMENT. Should have bought another Omega machine which lasted me 10 years at a cost of $1000. What a rip off, over priced for what they are!!!!!!!
needed to replace motor after 1000 washes

Excellent machine - Get what you pay for.
While initially breaking the bank a little (it's expensive), it has now been 7 years, including 5 years in tropical Darwin, it still looks as new, and has not missed a beat easily averaging 6-7 washes a week. Well worth the cost in the long run. Would highly recommend saving the extra cash to purchase this machine.
Washes very well, excellent with water and power usage. Buttons and labelling still look new (haven't worn like 'normal' machines)
nothing at all.

Miele energy efficient, water saving Eco machine.
This washing machine uses such little water, that clothes are not rinsed properly, that now we both are full of itches and rashes. When black coloured clothes are hung out to dry, you can see the white streaks all over them, where the detergent hasn't been rinsed out properly. Not Impressed.
Water intake is so minimal, clothes still retain soap residue.

Reliable service after 4 years
Reliable water efficient quality washing, no problems after 4 years of daily use. This machine just does what Miele says it will do...... day in day out.
Mould will occur in the bottom of the rubber door seal if you wash on cold cycles all the time. (fact of life) Wash occasionally on hot (95 0 C) to prevent this happening. If mould has has already occurred use Selleys Mould Cleaner on the seal, let soak for 20 mins then rinse on hot cycle. Ensure you don't spray cleaner on paint or chrome surfaces.
Apart from this minor issue we recommend Miele highly. We have their Dryer and Dishwasher. Same reliable service from those products.
Efficiency reliability.
Expensive to buy initially. Save up and buy one, its worth the pain.

Excellent
Like anything..you pay for what you get, and with our Miele washing machine we paid adequately (although it broke the budget for a while) it was worth every cent. You can set the temperature of each cycle and the speed for the spin or you can set the timer so you wake up and your washing is done. It has a honeycomb filter which is apparantly the latest technology which stops your clothes from tangling up and it is also very quiet which we love.
Overall it is fantastic, and we would recommend it to anyone wanting a good long lasting quality was...Read more

Excellent
This is an update of my last review and I still love it as much as when I first got it. I wash every 2nd day 2-3 loads ( lights & darks ) towels go in with the load and no linting. I like that you can add missed items. We are a family of 6 (four teenagers = lots of washing. I would recommend this machine to any one.

Would buy another and would definatly recomend to anyone who wants a quality machine. My machine would be around six years old and has not missed a beat whilst always doing a quality job.
Reliability and quality of wash.
Price. But you get what you pay for.
Mine has a small amount of rust bubbles on the front chrome outer ring. However it was used in the tropics in an outside laundry almost everyday for four years.

Well we had too many problem with it and no I wouldn't buy one any more but consider in buying a Siemens washing machine has a 5 year warranty and more reliable. We will never buy a Miele product they don't give you the satisfaction and not happy with customer service.

The W 2653 is noisy during the spin cycle on a intermittent basis. It sounds like the drum is rubbing against the rubber seal.
