This machine has served us well for 15 years until it stopped working yesterday.
Very easy to use, does a great job, and its virtually silent in operation.
This machine boasts a useful 1800 RPM spin speed making clothes nearly dry.
Due to its age, the capacitors on its computerised controller may have died (but this affects most electronics).
The Miele support line is very courteous, understanding and helpful. I just hope that it can be repaired quickly at an acceptable cost.
Purchased in January 2021.

Excellent
Ultra quiet, really you can mostly just hear the wet clothes slapping about as the drum rotates during wash cycle, rock solid, stable & effortless operation.Kills all machines i have previously used ( Thor, bendix,Simpson ).Truly excellent results - even in the express cycle (40 minutes). Very low water & detergent usage and not one issue in 6 years of heavy usage. Is easy to clean & still looks brand new.A bargain at the time at nearly half price from Miele's 'B-Stock' outlet.
Ultra quiet professional coreless motor, fantastic results, relatively fast cycles, programmability, low water & detergent usage
So far nothing - expensive at full retail but then ya get what ya pay for folks

Terrible
Everything went well until year three!
As you would expect that was when the warranty expired also.
It just stopped. I enforced the NZ consumer Guarantees act. Meile NZ say 4-6 weeks to get new circuit board from Australia (I could swim there quicker). These machines are too complicated inside. The more 'sensors' the more to go wrong. Do we really need the machine to weigh the clothes? Sense the water level? Sense the fabric type? Sense for foam? Just clean the clothes - that's all we need :-)
washed well while it still worked
poor parts service and over complicated electronics inside.

Did you have any further problems after replacing the circuit board?
Yes it turned out to be the power supply and this was after they took it away to repair it. Nearly three months in total. When it came back they hadn't tightened the screws that hold the panels on eno... Read more
ugh so when it spins it makes a terrible noise. Gave up and bought a Panasonic in the end. These products are really only worth the extra money if the agent importing and supporting them is good at what they do. In NZ it it Steelfort and they are not good at the support and servicing. They... Read more
also don't offer the same warranty you get from miele elsewhere. Buyer beware.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

High End Miele is a Waste of Money
The first Miele I bought, was the 2515 and I loved it. It was quiet, stable and just got on with the job.
Based on that, I gave the 2515 to my Mother in Law and bought a 2888 as an supposed "Upgrade".
The first 2888, caused unbareble vibration through the house. Miele claimed that the issue was due to the wooden floor and not their problem. They did allow us to return the machine for a $300 restocking fee, and we got the second 2888.
The second one has very little vibration and is almost as good in that regard as the 2515 was. It d...Read more
oes however have a host of new foibles built in. The machine is supposed to be quiet due to the brushless motor, however unlike the 2515, it rattles and squeaks, and there is constant suspension noise, which was never audible on the 2515. When washing single Duvet's, the 2515 would start to spin, which would pull the duvet away from the door glass and go for it, the 2888 just senses the pressure on the door, and refuses to spin at all.Similar opinion? Excellent
I have owner a F&P and a Bendix front loader, the Miele beats them hands down. I love all the different wash cylces. Hubbys dirty work clothes come out spotless and hand washing is a thing of the past with the delicate cycle. I have owned this machine for 4 years and haven`t had any issues despite doing about 10- 15 loads a week. buy one you won`t regret it!!!! VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.
Super client, perfect wash every time, heaps of wash cycles

Questions & Answers
Valerie Hayasked
I have just bought a new apartment that comes with a Miele Navitronic 2888.
I prefer to wash at 30 C or in cold water, but I can't establish how to do this with the machine I have acquired. The synthetics temperature seems to be only 40C, whilst some of my clothing indicates that 30 C or cold wash is preferable.
How can I lower the temperature for the wash, please?
Valerie
