Very light and flimsy structure
I purchased this gazebo because we wanted a retractable shade. To that end this product fits the bill. A single strap pulls the shade across where it latches magnetically, and the same strap is used to retract the shade. So far so good. We bought the Mimosa Semi-Permanent Retractable Roof Gazebo months ago and finally assembling it now. Hubby's a structural engineer so only purchased it because we could see some easy, but time consuming mods, that we could make. Replaced the base plates with powder coated high grade galvanized steel ones, with 20cm high tongues to fit posts. Filled the vertical posts with coated wood. Bolted posts to vertical tongue of strong base, through wood and out through other base tongue and original post again. Structure very stable now!!! Tomorrow will add 40cm triangular braces to upper corners. Will always take fabric off over winter months but expect we'll eventually have to make new ones. But pattern looks simple and I'm handy with sewing machine.
