IT is a cheap van with a very poor safety rating and should only be bought if you have a death wish or if you have an employee that you wish to have on perminate disablity payments, or that you may have a chance with their partner after they die in this crap van.
The van itself is low in height (compared with other vans) so access to some buildings is possible.
The vehicle because the seats are positioned ontop of the engine means two things: 1 It should not be driven by anyone taller than 5ft11 as they cannot sit up straight thus causeing back strain and could result in major spinal injury in a low speed accident.2. because there is no front on the van it is emminate that a head on crash would result in major leg damage.

If your built to the standard Japanese build you'll fit.
If you're built like an Average westerner get out the shoe horn to fit in the drivers seat.
Reliable, standard with both sides and rear door opening for cargo.
Leg room does not exist. The previous reviewer must be hobbit height to have ample leg room.I'm 6'3" and my knee hits the steering wheel when I go to use the brake, making it very dangerous. Why do they market vehicles in Australia that are not built to the populations geometry.

This is a good van for the price especially with the dual sliding doors makes loading much easier and if your a courier you do not have to run around to the other side all the time probably could do with a bit more power on the open road.
I would definatley consider another one if i need it.
Had mine 5 years now its been a good reliable workhourse with little repairs needed (i do regular services)i did have a head on collision and the mitsi's chassis which protrudes well in front of your leg space held up strong with no injury to me or my daughter but the Volvo i hit was a right off.
Uses a bit of oil i must admit. Factory stereo is crap. Central doorlocking only on rear doors. And could do with a bigger fuel tank.

I have just purchased a 2005 2.0L EFI to replace my 1991 2.0L carby model SWB - the latter having performed faultlessly in city and highway driving for 420000km without even a head gasket blowing. The new van seems fantastic - interior fittings add a quality feel and the EFI adds much to the mechanical power. In my extensive experience over 13 years, Mitsubishi Express is THE most reliable, low service and value-for-money van on the market and with regular servicing can perform astonishing feats of longevity and hard work in every condition imaginable.
Brilliant mechanical reliability, Nice presentation in and out, extremely effective worker.
At the price Express sells for in comparison to competitors I cannot fault the vehicle.

not sure, do you have power steering, and air con, normally a second belt serves Air con, one belt should go around fan, water pump, alternator, and or power steering if fitted,

Reco's are about $2k. A bit more if they insist on changing radiator or no warranty. If you go this road, get your own high capacity radiator ($115 on ebay/44mm thickness incl delivery) as engine reco guys charge ~$200 and give you only a standard radiator which struggle with aircon after the first 12 months.
Don't let anyone talk you into a heavy duty clutch either (if manual). Breaks brackets and tendons! If assembled with quality components, like King Bros, you get similar engine life to Nissan/Toyota out of the same block.
Reco motors are better value than low mileage imports. Rings and lifters are superior quality compared to OEM Mitsi engines which are made in the same factory as Hyundai engines so the recos last a lot longer before blowing smoke (oil rings) and making tappet noise (lash adjusters).

Just had a quick look on ebay for a 2nd hand 4G63 engine.
One in good shape that has not been left out in the weather to fill up with rainwater is ~$1,200 incl delivery. Probably cost another $500 to fit.
I'm getting a 4G64 (2.4L) rebuilt in a couple of weeks. Because they are cast iron blocks this is a safe bet. Probably won't even need a rebore. I'm keeping my radiator/clutch/leads because I have replaced all within the last 12 months and I like the way it's running with a big radiator and featherweight clutch so this brings down the cost a bit. Normally a reco is ~$2,200 fitted but because I'm keeping radiator etc I won't be up for a clutch kit so for about the same cost as buying a 2nd hand engine from wrecker and getting it fitted I'll have something with new timing belt, water pump, balance shaft bearings, oil seals (those seals in the timing belt cover can leak after a while) and new pistons, rings, bearings & valve adjusters and they will all be quality aftermarket stuff.
You might want to consider whether it's worth the risk to buy 2nd hand. 4G63 & 4G64. Reco kits are pretty much same price. For the same amount of time in the shop (1 wk) you can come out with a reco motor that's better than the original for the same cost and time of fitting an unknown 2nd hand motor.

Hey I been looking for the cigarette lighter fuse for weeks now doing my head in I found the one on the drivers side but no accessories fuse there so the radio and cigarette lighter not working 2005 Mitzi express van?

Not sure.
My lighter never worked from day 1. Ended up replacing/rewiring the whole thing. Try Alan. He has more electronic gadgets on his L3 than the Jaycar Winnebago!
Primary fusebox near accelerator pedal (the one you found). Circuits share common fuses such as horn & indicators. Radio and lighter on same circuit? Probably. If you had a separate fuse for every lamp and accessory or electronic device you would end up with about 3 fuse boxes, each one with about 40 fuses, like you would find in a Ford Territory or similar.
